My understanding of Genesis 3:15 above is that the war between Satan and Christ and his church is a "seed" war. I went to the Biblehub.com website, particularly at

According to the NASB translation, as you can see, there are two particular definitions for the word "seed" (ZERA) that drew my attention and they are "Origin" and "Seminal." I strongly believe that these two particular definitions are the core of what the writer of Genesis 3:15 is trying to convey in particular when he uses the word "seed". It is not just about the coming generations of the woman he means, or the coming generations of the serpent but their points of ORIGIN or that which is SEMINAL. The adjective "seminal" according to the Merriam Webster dictionary describes the word as "relating to, or consisting of seed or semen: Containing or contributing the seeds of later development, creative, original."
We are talking here of an issue of the basic natural origins of the human. When that which is "seminal" is discussed, the genetics of the object discussed is what is in issue. That is, the very foundations biologically or otherwise of the object in discussion. This is why I conclude that the topic of Genesis 3:15 is one of genetics when the "seed" is mentioned. In otherwords the genetics of the woman will face a war against them from the serpent's own genetics. It will not just be an issue of their children fighting against each other but an issue of the true genetic constitution of man being under siege from Satan. The prophetic conclusion of this war is that Satan will lose in a bid to corrupt the basic biological foundations or DNA of the human whose image or make up is of God.
The book of Genesis itself is a book containing the initial record of "beginnings", the origins, the foundations. Merriam Webster dictionary again defines the word "Genesis" as "the origin or coming into being of something." The book of Genesis therefore contains a record of the rules pertaining to creation and the origins of all that God made and yes also matters relating to the DNA constitution of living things are given parameters here. It contains the law on first things so to speak. I have put together verses that delineate the boundaries for us when it comes to handling the biological make up and construct that God originally gave living things. All verses from other books of the Bible will be aligned to the book of Genesis for further illustration.
Genesis 1:11-12
And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding
seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each
according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. The earth
brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to
their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed,
each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Notice how what is good to God is when every plant yields seed according to its own kind or species. Here God relays his intention to keep things within their "kind" or their biological class or category. It follows therefore that anything other than that is not good. And so here we have a first law or boundary on created things and that is to desist from mixing the kinds or creating chimeras. One of the definitions of a "Chimera" from the Merriam Webster dictionary is that it is an individual, organ, or part consisting of tissues of diverse genetic constitution. A hybrid created through fusion of a sperm and an egg from different species.
This idea is continued in the New Testament as well. take a look at 1 Cor 15:38-39.
1 Corinthians 15:38-39
But God gives it a body as he has chosen, and to each kind of
seed its own body. For not all flesh is the same, but there is
one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds,
and another for fish.
The biological integrity of a created thing is to be upheld also in the book of Leviticus and Deuteronomy. God had given the Israelites strict instructions not to generally get used to the idea of mixing materials on a whole. Again in the following verse though, he narrows it down again in the Mosaic law and clearly and directly prohibits the mixing of genetic material. God knew that man would soon in his quest for absolute knowledge, delve into the wicked arts of manipulating genetic material.
Leviticus 19:19
“You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed
with a different kind. You shall not sow your field with two
kinds of seed, nor shall you wear a garment of cloth made of
two kinds of material.
Deuteronomy 22:9
“You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest
the whole yield be forfeited, the crop that you have sown and
the yield of the vineyard.
When it comes to altering the DNA and manipulating genetics, it is frequently explained by scientists that there is a great gain to be made. All is couched in benevolent language to promote the idea that genetically related diseases can be wiped out and ultimately human suffering can be alleviated. However God has not extended authority to man to play into the arena of Genesis or the laws governing creation and the origins of creation! This is a special preserve of God and left by scripture to his prerogative to provide healing from incongruences in the ways in which it pleases him. A particular scripture in Ecclesiastes comes to mind. It is not that everything that seems crooked to man must rashly be straightened in any and every possible way.
Ecclesiastes 7:13
Consider the work of God: who can make straight what he has
made crooked?
Is man specifically mentioned in the recorded laws of origins in Genesis or is it just plants and animals? Well, man's biological constitution is very specifically mentioned. There is even a direct link made from the natural to the physical. What you see in man's composition belongs spiritually to God. The patent is God's so to speak. Man was created in God's image! This means God owns the creative rights to a human's full composition. Tampering with this would be the same as when a fraudster plagiarises a full work created by someone else and claims it as his. In the language of the Bible, he could be said to purport to have created that work in his own image. There are even in this world, negative consequences accruing to such behaviour. (1 Corinthians 6:19 "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own").
Genesis 1:26-27
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our
likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea
and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and
over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on
the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image
of God he created him; male and female he created them.
The mention of the detail that God created us male and female is to lay empasis to the fact that we too have two different classes and that they are not to be mixed up. Our roles in nature and even spiritually are tied to whether we be male or female biologically.
