I guess the updates are now a regular feature. It is interesting that they seem very concerned about losing their government “grants” in Norway. Such opposition cannot be tolerated! And its also interesting that the brothers and sisters in Ukraine are so brave and faithful to resume attending meetings while their country is at war and bombs are being dropped. But of course the pandemic was far too dangerous to meet in person unlike the risks from war and bombs.

When Paul called Ananias a whitewashed wall, I wonder if he was thinking of the scriptures in Ezekiel?

Acts 23:3: “Then Paul said to him: “God is going to strike you, you whitewashed wall. Do you sit to judge me according to the Law and at the same time violate the Law by commanding me to be struck?”

Ezekiel 13:15: “‘When I fully unleash my wrath upon the wall and upon those who plastered it with whitewash, I will say to you: “The wall is no more, and those plastering it are no more.“

If I am correct one of the GB members said recently that because of meetings being held on Zoom during the pandemic, the memorial attendance was up and more newly interested ones attended, Maybe now they want everyone to go back to the KH and meet in person to see if such ones continue to attend meetings, or they are hoping that they will, if it’s true.To be honest I haven’t watched the update so I am going just on what is said here, as two of the GB members that I just cannot summon up the enthusiasm to listen to are Morris and Splane. So unless anyone really recommends sitting through this update, I’ll be giving it a miss.

I have commented about this very thing before. 100% they are reaping what they have sown. Fear, fear and more fear, is what they sowed, and now because there really was no justification for the fear mongering, they cannot undo what they did. What's really different now? Nothing. Every single one of these people think wearing a mask will protect them, it doesn't, getting a vaccine, and the endless boosters will protect them it doesn't, (that's why they need endless boosters). They had to lock down for two years for an Flu equivalent virus. And so with all these contradictions and inconsistencies, how could you possibly expect anything other than exactly what's happening???!!!! And for anyone who saw through all this BS, like all of us here, they drove the people away who actually knew what a load of garbage this all was. The people who recognized this was all one big Satanic lie, "oh don't listen to them!! UNITY!!! We have to HAVE UNITY! If they contradict Jehovah's channel they are from Satan." It reminds me of Dana Carvey's "Church Lady."

I tried to watch the memorial on JW.org site and it just kept freezing on me. I don’t do Zoom and never plan to. That Zoom guy made billions. Go figure. Anyways it was a real disappointment. I felt really letdown. But my pioneer sister posted a picture on Facebook of her setting at her table with the wine and unleavened bread. Really 😞I’m not a FB person. But someone shared the pic. I love my sister, but sometimes I’m just like what?? The last memorial that was in person for us(my husband is not a baptized witness) was in 2019. He was rather disappointed in the Tech way it was presented. We just love the old school of hearing the talk and singing from the song book. Everything was on a screen. Sorry for this long post. I’m just so happy to find a place where I can voice my concerns:)

Me too! It's difficult to have nobody to discuss all this with. I commented before about how I was driving myself crazy before this site, because I had legitimate concerns, questions, and thoughts with nobody to talk to about it. It's very refreshing!

I didn't comment on another disturbing aspect of the "Update" regarding the WT in Norway. Because of the harsh way in which disfellowshipping is practiced the government of Norway has understandably ruled to cut off funding for the WT. The "Update" presents it as a great injustice and the Norwegian brother expresses the Society's determination to get the money the government gives to all religions. Say what???? It really is all about the money now. 😒

One more thing: Anthony Morris invoked Ezekiel's vision of the immense celestial chariot in an attempt to move Zoomers to get off the couch and follow the swift-moving chariot back to the Kingdom Hall. That reasoning implies that the invisible chariot loitered and parked for a couple of years, bringing the earthly followers of the chariot to a standstill during the phony pandemic pandemonium. But now the chariot is on the move again! Hard to keep up with that?

The WT has never understood or appreciated what Ezekiel's vision really means. It is not simply the invisible organization. It is the Kingdom. Even earthly kings rode in a royal chariot. The fiery chariot with someone like an earthly man enthroned upon it represents Jesus Christ when he comes to judge the earthly organization. I doubt the Governing Body is going to be able to endure when the heavenly chariot parks over "Jerusalem" and the angels reach into the wheelwork and take fiery coals to throw down on the iniquitous city of apostates.
