Possible Exodus en masse? (Old thread from December 14, 2021)

With the issue of the vax being pushed on the the congregation, could we see a “walking away” like what happened in 1975? I wasn’t alive then but have heard many people just went up and left when things didn’t go as expected.

In 1975 the problem was that the organization praised those who sold their properties because the end was near
Many divested themselves of everything and incurred debt
When the end did not come they did not take over
Many left disappointed
The same thing happens with the vaccine
When someone gets sick they will say "it was your decision"
This will enrage several
For me it is almost certainly a schism caused by the irresponsibility of the GB

definitely- at the very least many must feel like leaving but haven’t yet. the media is lying about how many in the general population have already been injected. It’s not as many as they say. if JWs are a cross section of societal views, then they would reflect more of less the general consensus of the population.

tho most JWs seem to have drunk the kool aid, the number who are bewildered by the GB’s stance on this must still be significant. Also, I don’t want to seem macabre but there could also be a mass exodus to sheol, if this thing (these injections) has the impact that we think it will.

I think the GB made a massive mistake when they abandoned their neutrality about the vaxxines/boosters. A lot will depend on how the unvaxxed are treated if/when we ever go back to the KHs. If they are not allowed into the Halls, it may cause a schism. Talk about causing divisions in the congregation! Isn't that a disfellowshipping offense?

Yes. Initially I was hoping the GB would apologize and repent, but obviously they aren’t going to do that. I think this vax issue is much more serious than 1975 because it involves, as per their words, matters of “life and death.” Plus the videos that we have are proof that they used tricky language to imply they have divine direction regarding the direction of the vaccine. And, their new “doctrine” is to following their instructions that may be illogical, impractical and unusual. Really??

wow good point. causing divisions IS a df-ing offense. Also, correct me if i’m wrong but doesn’t the return to kingdom halls pilot program that they’ve already initiated exclude the unvaxxed? Then it’s already happening.

Yes, I have heard from friends in areas where they have opened the Kingdom Halls but only to the vaccinated. I’m not sure about the children though.

I would be interested in seeing the tricky language that youre claiming they used. Im aware of the disgusting word play they used in 1975, but Im not aware of any such trickery regarding the Vaccine. Thanks in adavnce.

There will be an exiting. I don't know how evident or subtle it might be. I have been seeing it happening over the years before the Covid experience. My brothers have been feeling that something is not right. They wane and flow back in. We are not something to ignore and yet our brothers have stapled us to the wall. Let my children go said Moses. Are we something in the family of Moses so that he would say leave us alone? Stop abusing us. Government is way out of bounds and ready to be destroyed. Our enemy swoops in with the solution. Will you remember that Jehovah told us that this would happen? The relief will make us want for something more than the pain we feel and then there is Jehovah with a better promise but the instant relief will make the people confused. Don't forget.

Sorry that you don’t see the tricky language just by watching the videos. Perhaps you saw this compilation that my husband put together.

I have to work today and I can’t take the time to analyze them today, but after watching this compilation if you need more proof, just let me know again and I’ll give you some examples. The few that I remember off the top of my head is that Splane said that asking what the brothers know is the wrong question. The right question is what does Jehovah know. That implies that Jehovah directed them to promote (and even mandate) the vaccine. They clearly state that they are not infallible, but if Jehovah is instilling his divine knowledge into them, wouldn’t that make the instruction infallible? That is double talk. And all this happened around the same time that Gaius Glockentine put out a video on dishonesty being a Peace Wrecker. Did you watch this video? https://www.jw.org/en/library/videos/#en/mediaitems/2022Convention/pub-co-r22_128_VIDEO. They condemn their own behavior in it.

Another one is they say it is a personal choice to take the vaccine or not but you are strongly encouraged to make the “right” choice and if you don’t you will be removed as a full-time worker. I have a step-daughter who is a full-time worker and she did not want to get vaccinated. But she bent to THEIR will because she didn’t want to lose the full-time worker position that she and her husband have. That is what a mandate is. Also, they told the statistics of COVID (supposed) deaths based on (from what I recall) all the congregations in the entire United States and then revealed the vaccine injuries from just the 100 or so workers at Bethel. That is manipulation and if you can’t see that, I can’t help you. My entire career was spent working with numbers and I know exactly how statistics can be manipulated to prove points that can be actually opposite from reality. That doesn’t happen by chance.

Another example of tricky wording has been pointed out, quite humorously by Robert King. When Losch said that it is only good manners to cover your mouth when coughing and likened that to wearing a mask, Brother Robert King pointed out how crazy it would be to walk around with your hand over your mouth all day just in case you might cough. That would be a more appropriate analogy.

Look, I know first hand from being in the trenches with the brothers and sisters, right up to the vaccine, that the friends, at least around 80% of them truly believed the vaccine had Jehovah’s blessing because of how it was presented by the GB. Are you denying that?

Anthony Morris said that these things have worked successfully in combating COVID 19 at Bethel, masking, vaccine, physical distancing, frequent hand washing. 99% of Bethel is vaccinated, right? It has been so successful that Bethel is still closed down because of COVID while the entire world is back at living. With success stories like that I would hate to see what failure looks like. And, they then ascribe their failed success to Jehovah keeping them in the land of the living due to the direction. I know SIX brothers and sisters either personally or I know their close relatives personally and they died from the vaccine. I don’t know ANYONE personally who died from COVID. My experience is not unique. The recent Cochrane study comprising of 12 different studies, which I believe 10 are peer reviewed, prove that none of the above listed mitigations made any or little difference in combating COVID. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and own choice but not their own facts. Just an aside, the GB does not tell my conscience when I have a religious objection to a medical procedure. I do have a religious objection to the COVID vaccine. I was not an anti-vaxer prior to this but now that I have looked into the info, I am now anti-vaccine. If I may suggest you read the book, “Turtles All the Way Down, Vaccine Science and Myth”.
