The layered cake of WT Delusion...

So today I was working and thinking about the things about the last two years that really "chap my hide", especially with regards to how the GB have handled the "pandemic" and how they and the rank and file bought it all "hook line and sinker".

Now maybe what i am about to write may not be "new insight" to those who have been here a long time, and saw what was wrong with the WT and GB long ago, but I am going to share my perspective any way, because I think maybe it's completely nrew insight, but if not, the insight that this realization or rather the fact that it does not happen among JW's is the real insight.

So let me start here. For a very long time, I knew it was absurd what the WT teaches that the whole world was without any developments, and I mean earth changing developments, going to "destroy religion". And asking any JW how that was going to happen didn't help reason it out. "Jehovah put's it in their hearts". So why did he wait 6000 years of he was just going to make them do what he wanted in the end anyway?????

Yeah, that just complete nonsense. So for probably 20 years, or at least that's when these thought first formed roots, I have known it didn't make any sense, again, without earth changing events.

Then came along this "pandemic". And I saw it for what it was at the very beginning. I was perplexed by the WT's response, none of it even began to make sense to me. If Satan rules the world, why listen to anything coming form this world. And as you all know it just went from bad to worse.

Then today I realized why. Why they bought it all. Why they have been hood winked, and bought the lies, hook, line, and sinker. And I'm sure Robert knows this all too well...he's lived it...it's because they do not believe anything nefarious is coming from the governments in any way, (unless it is the KOtN), until Jehovah makes them all destroy religion. Everything prophesied has already happened. Except for a couple of details, important details none the less. But the bottom line is, they do not think things are going to get worse!!!!

They all think the next shoe to drop, is somehow by some miracle, the very divided on the edge of WWIII world, is suddenly going to drop everything they perceive as world issues, and destroy religion, ALL RELIGION! That's going to happen any second. And as absurd as it sounds when you really think about it, this is what they think.

But this is why they go along with the lies that the government "cares about you". They think somehow the only bad thing that's going to come from government next, is to turn on "the World Empire of False Religion." Until that happens, unless you happen to live in Russia, if your a JW everything is fine!

And they think they will sail through the GT with a protective covering from Jehovah. So, in their opinion, no worries as long as you are in Jehovah’s organization.

Well, that does explain a lot of ' strange ' comments some of the friends have made. One sister said she didn't think Jehovah would allow nuclear weapons to be used [not even limited] . when I reminded her about WW II [Japan] - she replied -oh! I didn't know those were nuclear weapons! - and she's older than I am! [ Then I mentioned all the testing he's allowed to go on]. We talked about other things too, and even though she's vaxxed, she agreed it was wrong to push it. I hope she starts to think for herself, but time will tell -because - it's a comforting feeling - when they're under ' the spell' like little robots- [ just as a lot of us used to be ]:(

While they have knowledge of spiritual matters they don't have enough knowledge of geopolitical matters. Therefore, they have some tunnel vision. I too would of thought similar if I continued on having their mindset of not to worry about worldly or political affairs for it's going to pass away anyways. However, you need to know your enemy and what steps they're trying to take to persecute us. Otherwise, you'll be blindsided. The bible says we will be persecuted in the last days. So we make preparations to try to be the generation that never passes away in death (possibly).

But do you all really believe they are fooled? I wonder about that. I know for sure they've had many people writing in and calling trying to wake them up to the truth and they've deliberately ignored it. Did they ignore it because they believe the lies, or because of something else? I don't know. But it's so hard for me to believe they could really be that blind. I guess they could if it is Jehovah who has blinded them.

I wonder as well. Were the Pharisees' "fooled" into thinking Jesus was not the Messiah or were they just pissed off he showed up when he did, and didn't make them prominent leaders?

What does it mean that Jehovah has "blinded them?"....Is it because he gave us free will and our ability to choose the wrong thing is what blinds us?

I think Robert has talked about that before. Maybe he doesn't directly blind them, but I'm pretty sure there is scripture that talks about Jehovah allowing a deluding influence. Wish I could get my head on straight so I could remember more of this!

i don’t think the leadership is blinded- the GB and it’s helpers. In fact i doubt any of them are vaxxed up. it’s the rank and file who are blinded.

of course the GB are blind guides and Jehovah has shut the words of his prophesies to their ears/eyes/understanding so everything they dispense as food at the proper time is made up as they go.

I think the account of Pharoah with Moses is a good example of Jehovah “blinding” people. It’s just my opinion but he allows their dominant inclination to take control of them to the exclusion of really being aware of thinking that would otherwise prevent bad behavior. For example the phrase “blind rage”. If a person is in a blind rage, they refuse to consider the consequences and often become violent to their detriment. I am guessing that it is like that. They are blinded in that they don’t consider the disaster their behavior will have on themselves and they only focus on their immediate fleshly (non-spiritual) desire.

This is exactly what I meant by our free will allowing us to make bad decisions. Let me put it another way. Because Jehovah created us with free will, that means we can make the right decision or the wrong one. When we make the wrong decision, it is because of our free will that we are able to do that! So in that sense Jehovah has "blinded" someone because he does not interfere with their free will, as I like to put it, "your right to be wrong." Personally I think this is the best way to understand this, with what we know about Jehovah. Because of our free will he does not force anything on us, so he does not "blind" someone in a literal sense, that would belie our free will.

Exactly... Jehovah allows us to put on or take off the blinders at will. The longer they're on, the more difficult they are to take off. I believe the GB has blinders on, but it's willful blindness... whereas the sheep have blinders on by placing their complete trust in men and not Jehovah and Jesus.

what if the GB doesn’t have blinders on about certain things- like it knows full well when something isn’t right, yet plows ahead anyway.

As for the deep things of Jehovah, and the prophesies about Christ’s second coming, it def has blinders on.

As I mentioned on the other thread, pretty much most sin results from a lack of faith. Think of it, if you believe Jehovah is a real God and he sees everything you do and think, would you sin? I don’t think so. For some reason our pitiful little imperfect brains sometimes think that we can hide what we do from God. Isn’t that really a lack of faith?

Did Judas have blinders on? I would say yes. He was so distraught after what he did that he killed himself. His life choices made it possible for Satan to enter him, so the same probably goes with the evil slave. Maybe they started out faithful, but due to their lack of faith they became corrupt, allowing Satan to use them? I believe there's a faithful (yet blind) slave inside who isn't yet ready to leave, but they've got their shoes on and are getting ready to go when Jesus tells them to.

or sometimes i think that Jehovah won’t care this time if i eat this cinnamon roll without paying (i don’t know why it’s always a cinnamon roll) . Most of the time i sin in an overwrought, emotional state or sheer desperation. other times i did or do it out of weakness, stupidity or total lack of judgment.

And you’re right, faith is always the main conviction. Understanding that is actually encouraging because we can ask Jehovah for more faith when we need it. And he gives it to us and he builds us up and that feeling is exquisite!!!

Speaking of cinnamon rolls, one time I made them from scratch with croissant dough and the icing was maple flavored cream cheese icing. They were what the Hawaiians call “ono” meaning yummy.

I think that may be an over simplification. Since we are all imperfect, many of our sins are impulsive, and our impulses affect others especially those close to us. I would argue listening to the GB at this point is a sin, but they listen because of the sin of the GB convincing Jehovah's sheep that they speak for him. It's the whole "few strokes and many strokes". The fact is, it is impossible for Adam's offspring not to sin. We are born into sin. It's the reason Jehovah made a way out for us, we inherited sin, but that is not our fault, yet our birth right is death! Hence Jesus sacrifice. The fact is, we sin no matter what, we literally cannot help it, cannot stop it and will never stop until by means of Jesus sacrifice we are made perfect.
Now that I have found this place, I realize none of that matters, what matters is whether we can be compelled to take the Mark of The Beast and give allegiance to the 8th King, and not based on how many hours each month we put in, into convinces people to join the WT.
