the older i get the more my musical taste changes.

I still love 80s music- Journey, Supertramp, Billy Squire, Split Enz, INXS, Donna Summer, The Specials, and i adore Liza Minnelli and all her Kander and Ebb songs from Caberet- also Bob Fosse was a genius, his movie Star 80 was highly underrated, though he did win the Oscar for Best Director for Caberet in 1973. I digressed, didn’t i.
@Asadour

I love the 80’s music and all the groups you mentioned. I pretty much liked the same music as my kids as they were growing up…
What about Duran Duran? REO Speedwagon, Billy Joel, Elton John…I guess I could go on and on!

Ok, so I’m partial to redheads!! My daughter had the most beautiful curly red hair when she was growing up. It’s still red, she just likes to straighten it now. 👩‍🦰
Mine is more white than red now. It used to be a chestnut colour. As a kid I hated it, then everyone wanted to dye their hair that colour.

I used to have long curly hair too. Now it’s kinda half long but much straighter then when I was 18.

What’s so funny about that?
Well it is mostly about the different tastes in music that Driven and I have. I laugh knowing what both Driven and I know about how I feel about "sappy love songs", "Frank Sinatra" and "Lawrence Welk". I am just not into that LOL. But Driven is not into much of the music I love so it is a matter of humor for us both. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of music we mutually love, but what she mentions in her post does not trip my trigger in any way, thus the "laughter emoji". Plus her comment about hating Lawrence Welk in and of itself deserved an award because I agree whole heartedly LOL.

I have never heard of Lawrence Whelk. From your description, he sounds rather similar in output to a bad seafood meal for the mind. Perhaps I’m just being shellfish in my thinking.

YOU NEVER HEARD OF LAWRENCE WELK??? He was BIG way back in the day, in the early 1950’s through the 70’s I believe. He was also a bandleader and accordionist. Played that ”champagne music.” Every Saturday eve in many family homes they would have his show turned on, watching him direct the band as they played, sometimes with the bubbles floating around as the music played on.

@Medi-tator & @Driven, I wasn’t a big fan of his either. We just didn’t have many choices back then what came on the TV. Oh, those were the days. 🎶 Hey, isn’t there a song with that title? 🎶

These I have loved all my life. Positive? The first one for sure. The second... I think so, but it's such a beautiful song either way. 🙂

One of my favorite groups too. Love some Supertramp and those particular songs too! 🎶❤️🎶
Thanks for posting. 👍🏼

Lawrence Welk makes me think of the Polka! Now that is really aging me.

Anyone remember this song from the 1990’s? It wasn’t a big hit but my attention was drawn to it because of the title and lyrics to the song. It’s strange how history has repeated itself in a somewhat different setting. 🎶 “Space and time removed too soon to tell.” 🎶
