Preaching

I’m not nor have ever been a member of any religion. I have what I hope is a simple question. Prefaced with Jesus’s commandment to make disciples, I’m aware of the effort Jehovahs witnesses members expend and keep track of this effort. I looked in a book titled 2021 service year report, it claims that roughly 1.4 billion hours were spent in this effort last year with a net result of roughly 172,000 converts. That’s an average of roughly 8,400 hours to convert each of those people.

I can appreciate that part of a ministry is talking about jehovah and his promises, that certainly feels good, maybe spending time with a partner or two in this effort, that seems like it would feel good

Here’s my question? Is this preaching model the most effective way to share a message? In any other business venture these results would get you fired.

I’m either overthinking this or have missed the point entirely. Mr king has a web site that I thoroughly enjoy and I doubt he spends 8400 hours each year to promote and fill with spiritual material for our benefit

Christ fulfilled the law hence no more need of physical Jerusalem which led to Him. The purpose of the good news was likened by Christ to that of a dragnet used to haul in fish.Mtt 13:47. Looking at those stats would it be safe to say it had served it's purpose?

Btw, I wasn’t implying Mr King was looking for converts, just used his effort as an example

I would say those efforts did produce a result, just thought results may improve with a different approach

Robert once discussed a really good idea but they never took advantage of it for some reason. Radio Watchtower. Small talks on basic Bible instruction interspersed with upbuilding music. Imagine traveling on a long trip and tuning into such a station. It would have been great.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You traverse sea and land to make one convert, and when that happens you make him a child of Gehenna twice as much as yourselves."
Matthew 23:15

You can preach, but if don't preach the truth what makes you think that Jehovah will accept your sacrifice. All other religions preach but that doesn't necessarily mean they are in the right.

Just my take on this.

So Pilate said to him, “Then you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say I am a king. For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.” John 18:37

Jesus came into the world to testify to the truth, not half truths or anything else.

I don’t belong to any church nor do I knock on anyone’s door. My original question was just out of curiosity, sorry for the confusion

Hi Greyson
I Believe the confusion is on my behalf. My post wasn't aimed at anyone in particular. Just trying to figure out like anyone else what is going on within Jehovah Witnesses organisation whether it's ok to join the preaching the gospel as per current teachings or not.

Jehovah witnesses used different preaching methods during history. Door to door used to be a preferred one and used to be quite effective. Today you can reach to people through different means but I believe not everyone is on the internet.

In this matter it shouldn't be about how many converts you make, it's about giving people the opportunity to hear the gospel. I believe God watches over the earth and anyone that needs to hear will hear. I was just wondering if the content of the gospel it's been altered what should we do because we are not honest to ourselves and with the people we preach to?
