I have done the fitness thing; walking, rugby, shovelling, and I fast for 18 hours out of every 24 hours, limiting myself to generally no more than 1200 calories a day. I have done all I can do as far as fitness is concerned and which is probably why I’m still here. Now, I have found the treasure in living is to be content with what one is, to master the flesh, feed the mind, contemplate creation and our reason for living, to make friends with Jehovah and to leave no stone unturned in confessing my raison d’etre to Him in all its excruciating and unbearable honesty. I put my feet up and spend my day trawling the world via internet, learning the wonders and ways of the world, I read - present book is on cures and medical understanding of the Black Death plague of 1666, - books every night, write my diary, kick a ball about with Barnaby - he loves his “football game” and the rest of the time, I am beavering away carpentering in my work shop to a playlist of classical music and being amazed at the beautiful grain to be found within wood. Most of all, I am grateful to Jehovah in that my life has panned out with the greatest comfort and contentment in finding Him and his purpose, His truth, His humility, justice, peace and all the complete manifestation of His attributes.

Yes, a water fast. I only put a little salt in the water once a day, and the other day I felt some aches from the increased acidity so I put a little baking soda in one of the glasses. Really does feel amazing to experience these kinds of profound changes. Self deprivation is important for us to appreciate things and put them in their proper place. Never enjoyed food so much lol.
Have you ever tried the Lemonade diet?

2 Tbsps fresh squeezed lemon juice
2 Tbsps Pure B. or C grade maple syrup (The lower grades have more minerals, apparently)
A sprinkle of Cayenne pepper.
in about 10 oz of water.

Only that but drink it whenever you get hungry. (Of course, water is fine too) Pure hell for the first day or so but then, after that, you'll find yourself with more energy than you've ever had. You won't be hungry either but you will crave the taste of other foods.

I've done that a few times in life and it always amazed me how it went. At the 3rd or 4th day I was bounding up stairs 2-3 at a time. Strange considering my caloric intake was much less than normal. My stomach shrank and I lost weight. My goal wasn't to lose weight though, just clean out my system and it did that in spades.

I do dry brushing..lol. I don't have a rebounder.
To really benefit if you do rebounding, you have to get a good one and they’re about 300 dollars. But hey, any body movement is great for the lymphatic system.
I’ve heard that brushing is really good for your immune system and also leaves you feeling real good. Thanks for sharing.

I'm approaching my best physical shape since teenage years.

Daily routine:
- eat once a day only, this is critical
- 100 jumping jacks
- dog walk, short jog
- lots of water
- 20 pushups

Covid made me realize we can't rely on modern medicine.

I used to skip breakfast when I was working. Pretty easy to get used to.
Switched over to drinking distilled water exclusively about 6 years ago.
Amazing how changing a few things in life can have huge benefits.
Kudos to you for Omad! Your body must love you for that.

Fasting like in Bible times has disappeared from our society and simultaneously cancer and all forms of disease from obesity (depression too) rises.

I'm convinced, your body needs a break from consuming. Too much fat stored on the body must become a breeding ground for disease.

Feeling sluggish is probably being confused with depression and it spirals from there.

Right around 5 - 6pm before eating I'm at peak energy.

Better believe I eat well when I do though!

"Covid made me realize we can't rely on modern medicine". True dat. I quit a nasty habit (puff, puff) that I picked up after a family tragedy. Stopped eating processed foods, daily green tea with lemon juice and apple cider vinegar, 30 minute brisk walk every day and weight training three times a week. And after talking to a heart surgeon for a good 30 minutes recently, switched to the Mediterranean way of eating. My health has returned and lost 40 plus pounds. Fit. If I wasn't going to get the jab, I made darn sure to do everything in my power to boost my immune system. Sadly, I only began seeing food as medicine in my early fifties. 😢

I'm quite fit but intermittent fasting has dropped a few unexpected pounds of water weight from me. Feels better to be a little lighter, less bloating. We really do eat way too much and food really is a widespread addiction even for the average person.

I've thought about trying carnivore as well, I've thought about going back vegan or mostly vegan too. Once I get some income I'll probably try both of them for a month or so and see what the major differences are (while still doing IF/OMAD).

Slimming is a strange human condition. We believe we can get slimmer by eating something and there is a multibillion dollar business built to sell just such an anomaly, not to mention the revenue in advertising it. ( A real ‘gravy-train‘!) I used to tease the women at work when they were talking about slimming, telling them I knew of a diet guaranteed to loose them weight daily - don’t eat something. Come to think of it - just such a diet is coming to everyone when the system goes under.

Agreed and I’m currently storing reserves for the coming famine, guilt free.

I weigh the same as last post but look five lbs lighter and speed/ease of movement at work is at level of times when 8lb lighter in the past so muscle has to be improving. I'm only exercising about two times a month more than last year so I think its more eating and drinking healthier. Joints, blood and heart are improving.
