We know that as Christians,we are to have genuine love among ourselves as a disciple of Christ. This is not to say we love out of a sense of duty, it’s not primarily an emotion but a decision of the will leading to action…genuine love.
Because we have an inherited tendency towards selfishness, we need reminders to show love to one another.
Granted, WT has instilled in many of us a distorted way of showing love, for example saying that we’re showing love to those DF by not speaking to them and families not speaking to them….or even helping them spiritually. Is that really showing love? I think not. As many of you know we need to show genuine love in ways that godly principles direct.
I don’t want to have much more to say because I would love to hear your input on this. Our love for one another involves family, friends, brothers and sisters. Not to mention husbands and wives.
Now that we’re approaching a crucial time period of the end of this old world, Jehovah stresses this important quality of love, the “greatest of these is love.”
“The end of all things has drawn close….Above all things, have intense love for one another.” 1 Peter 4:7,8
Peter’s words are rich in meaning for us during this critical time period. I hope that you will have positive words concerning this to help us with, “so as to incite to love and fine works”
