@Watchman Is it just me, or does it look ridiculous to have a Memorial at a kingdom hall in residential neighborhood at 9:15 pm? The time when many people (including kids) are going to bed if not already in bed. I'm all for sacrificing for the Lord and all. What i am asking, that when you get down to brass tax, is that really what God and Jesus expect? Or does it make the whole process look a bit neurotic and culty? The older I get and more perceptive to the Lords ways, this thought kept pricking me. I'm not ashamed to say I like being in bed earlier now. Lol. Im ready for discipline, so if I'm being irreverent or ungrateful, please set me straight Brethren!

Yes there are two. Ones at 730 and next at 915. But even still, does Jesus and the Father truly expect that? I dont know, just weird to me.

Why so late? The sun ought to set around 8pm. Are there two congregations having back-to-back memorials in the same Kingdom Hall?

Usually, when two or more congregations share a hall, they rent a facility for the Memorial where they can all meet at the same time. By the way, there is the account in the 20th chapter of Acts where Paul was speaking to the brothers in an upper room three stories high and a young boy sitting in the window fell asleep and tumbled out the window and died from the fall. Paul went down and resurrected him and went back up and spoke until dawn. ;)

Man if any of the modern day speakers amongst WT were 10% as good as Paul and able to raise the dead, I'd bring a sleeping bag no problem . Lol

To paraphrase 1st Corinthians 11:25. Jesus said, for as "often" as you do this, keep doing this in rememberence of me..Although this night was considered passover or the remembering of the beginning of deliverance from enslavement.. Jesus was also instituting a forthcoming deliverance from the enslavement from sin and death for not just the nucleus of heirs but for all humans that would have to prove themselves worth delivering, said another way, becoming a participant in one's own rescue... Generally the practice is,, supper happens in the evening..but, is it necessarily the case? No..otherwise Jesus wouldn't have said for as "often" Does that mean once a year only? No! However since the passover was looked forward and practiced once a year by the jews, that does not mean it applies for us today.. lastly the partaking of the anointed was a private matter.. just like the Revelation of Jesus christ will be private.. after all Robert' has been trumpeting this for as long as I can remember.. The Watchtower’s invitation is said to be for the support of the anointed..Does it mean you have to go since you're not anointed? Nope! Because we support our brothers in many other ways...it's up to each to decide.. Not the watchtower.. which will just use the gathering to gaslight how many attendees filled the seats... In closing, "Just make the truth your own!"

Yep, our congregation shares with another and the one whose turn it is to NOT have the kingdom hall, always, always, always hires another venue, such as one of the many village halls in the area. No paying out this year though! 9:15 meeting! I'm in London with a friend at the moment, her congregation hasn't paid out to hire a venue this year either. She's just gone out on her mobility scooter to her meeting for 9:15. Looking like a common theme running throughout the UK, a theme of "stop spending out on unnecessary stuff"!!

Try to find the positive brother, at least it's not a weekday and we've got work in the morning!!

Well, when you've sold off a significant portion of Kingdom Halls, I guess you don't have the real estate to have just two Memorial's per Kingdom Hall. Ours is at a college auditorium, since there are two Kingdom Halls on our property, there isn't room for 4 congregations to meet.

At least your congregation splashed out on an alternative venue Nomex, ours didn't this year. 9:15 ours is, AND we've got to wade through crocodile infested rivers to get there 🤭

Just think though, Jesus didn't get any sleep for more than a day. He was arrested after the Evening Meal and was interrogated all night, then mocked and tortured and made to carry his own torture stake, until he couldn't.

Yes, you are correct. The torture stake Christ carried makes our tribulations appear childlike. I think the part that seems fanatical to me is the way WT insists the observance be done precisely after sun down. It is a formality that WT and it's members identify with. Does God really care if the emblems are placed exactly after sun down? Goodness gracious, where the sun is down in one area, it's risen in another. It just smells of semantics. Would the Creator really frown upon people memorializing Christs death before sundown? He wants mercy , not sacrifice, right? Personally I don't mind worshipping God in the middle of the night. It's just the optics look ridiculous in the neighborhood I think when a Kingdom Hall is packed with people at 10pm.

I suppose they're used to seeing the Catholics doing their thing at MIDNIGHT! where does THAT tradition stem from? What I personally don't like about our congregation not hiring another venue (and all the others that are doing the same tonight) is me assuming it's because the ORG is being "stingy" and told the congregations not to pay out this year..:(

Obeying Christ isn't always convenient. Whoever does not accept his torture stake and follow after me is not worthy of me. (Matt. 10:38)
