Aging is a Disease, says new research

While I don't think humans will ever overcome aging, at least not completely, without Jehovah's help and approval, I found this video extremely interesting. It portrays aging as a disease. Which is kinda true if you think about it. Remarkably, it appears Jehovah's design comes with all the resources it needs built-in to reverse aging. It's there. Someone just needs to flip the right switch or switches. We don't understand how to target the right genes in the right away to make it do what we want. But I know somebody who does. ;)

What I find interesting is that according to science, it is possible to reverse aging or slow it down and how that ties in with God's promise. Weird how things fit from researchers who don't even know Jehovah. I also like the point he makes at the end, even if I don't like the example he uses. If people didn't die they would be forced to care more about their actions because they would live to see them. He uses global warming as an example, but the underlying point is a good one. That might be the secret to building a paradise; everyone needs to be responsible stewards of their environment, not just for the duration of a short lifespan, but forever. Nobody will be going around polluting Jehovah's new world. That could apply to any number of things, too. Anyway, great watch, if you're into this geeky stuff like me.

Title is deceptive. It's not about literally living forever. Just longer. He's secular. Give him a break, he's trying.

Along a similar line although not quite as in depth as the video, a decade ago after struggling with turning 40 I decided to come up with my own multi disciplinary programme to deal with the effects of aging. It's still a work in progress and I continue to look for new knowledge but so far this is what I have come up with.

Step 1. Drink Beer

You're welcome. (y)

@Jahrule Only Jehovah can get us out of this old age business. 😕

My mates and I many years ago came up with a Beer Goggles theory which is just as complicated as my multi disciplinary approach to Aging.

In the interests of Science and Humanity we ran the data multiple times in the front bar and the results were the same. A woman that was say 4 out of 10 would remain so until the fourth ale was consumed.

Subsequently for every ale consumed after the fourth she rose an extra mark. This would mean that by the tenth ale she was also a 10.

Formula was Bx4 = 4 + 6xB =10. (B stands for Beer)

After turning 40 and now moving onto 50 I find that the Beer Goggle formula works equally as well on me. Trouble is moderation doesn't permit me to reach the magical 10. (plus I'm starting at about -2 which Scientifically is said to be untreatable unattractiveness)

Scientifically the theory remains solid, verifiable and true. A profound Maxim of the utmost depth and philosophical insight.:unsure:

@4JahandChrist 😳 I’m almost sorry I asked. What kind of ex-splanation was that? Could you speak that in lamens terms or am I missing something like you being held up in a prison camp in Australia that I blindly fell for…ha!
How do you come up with this stuff??? I’m not as smart as you might think I am to give me that kind of ex-splanation. I’m not even going to pretend I understood that! But I will say one thing, you have a unique sense of humor…to me that is. 🙂

Wrong questions.....wrong questions. It's not me you need to understand ...it's the Almighty. 😁

If you want to understand the Formula you must engage with the Beer. Beer is the door to the Formula and the Formula will return you to the Beer. ( Said like Morpheus from the Matrix)(y)
Sorry but I never got into the Matrix thing although my kids would know lol. But I have some beer in the fridge…that’s a start aye? Ok, but Jehovah doesn’t make things so complicated to understand, so I have no problem understanding the Almighty, as you say. 👍🏼

That’s probably the most useful advice ever written in these pages. I know Robert has come up with some pretty good ideas to live longer, but he has yet to come up with something on this scale.

I wonder about the word choice of calling aging a disease. Jehovah's age goes into eternity and counting time would have more or less begin to have a reference point beginning with the creation of Jesus. In this world, I pay attention to the wording people use because of the nature of this world. If aging is a disease, how long before those words get manipulated by people with bad motives? It has been pointed out that we are the carbon that the wealthy want to rid the planet of.

Ageing is not a disease as you say, but suffers from the same sort of misnomer at the opposite end of the spectrum as the trans community. Age, for want of an explanation is simply a breakdown in systems. Certainly there is a reason for this breakdown, but none that the medical world would entertain for one minute. That, though, does not make it incorrect. It is an inescapable fact that our organism in itself is regenerative and that there is no reason why this regeneration breaks down. It just does. Blood cells last for about three months whereas most neurons in the brain can remain for the entire lifespan. Doubtless the death and regeneration of cells maintain perpetuity in youth, but the brain is not subject in terms of youth and its purpose is accumulative for information analysis. Whereas ‘supporting’ cells to that process, can be changed and renewed. That is not to say of course that such brain cells do not generate additional synapses. Life in itself is an entity. Physical existence in the case of man, is necessary for life to be expressed. It is not so in the spiritual world, and the same attributes that we have, appear to exist and be expressed without physical need. Angles are (presumably) no more alive than we are. Life is life. Of all the issues between us and a snail, life is not one of them. Clearly the creation of Jehovah was praised by the angels and also envied by some who coverted the fleshly experience of life. I think that Jehovah’s description of Himself “always” having existed is a good enough insight into the fact that it was He who brought into play the elemental laws of time, such being necessary for His creative purposes, but there is certainly a mercurial element in time in that it can be manipulated and measured differently in respect of the observer and thus our ageing process can be elongated by of all things, time. It’s a love-hate relationship depending on where you are.

thank you for not calling it “the science”,
i would have asked you for its name. humor: ar ar.

@Jahrule

very interesting video and thank you for sharing.

I used to tell sisters in the car group that cars and clocks are linked- that in the new system we won’t need cars anymore because we won’t need to be concerned about the time (and energy resources) it takes to get from point A to point B, to wit: U.S. friend rings up Australian friend: Would you like to come over for coffee? Australian friend responds: Why yes! Let me get my shoes on- I’ll see you in about five years. Don’t be alarmed if I’m a year or two late. I always like to stop in Japan for tea. See you soon!

So that's why those Armenian snacks aren't here yet. You've launched your canoe in Seattle and I probably won't get fed til 2027. ☹️

Enjoying a good algebraic formula from time to time, is a real treat. In looking at your math, it would appear to me that the formula would also need to account for the time vector of the bar’s “closing time” into its calculations.

There are some I've read who believe the tree of life gave fruit that, when partaken, repaired genetic damage and maintained youth. That would explain why God had to bar Adam and Eve from the garden where the tree resided. If that's true, that tree would be reintroduced into the new world to be partaken of at some interval by the surviving masses.

Imagine that if you had a favorite pet, feeding him from the tree occasionally would keep him with you forever. No need to lose your favorite furry friend by God's good grace and undeserved kindness.

Interesting idea and I wonder if there is anything to it.

that is what i believed, and do still believe that until I stand corrected. (Prov 18:17)

Revelation talks about free and abundant water(s) of life.
