Completely safe and effective

I performed a test last week; you see I get alot of thumbs up for my quick may be two sentence plus scripture posts. BUT....I noticed when I posted paragraphs with more than a hundred words......Nothing! No reply. That shows attention spans have gone down. People have become more dominated by image based messages such as memes, cartoonography etc. The quicker and precise the message the better chance of getting the audience rather than large quantity of textual info. Just an observation. MickHewitt Professor of linguistics.....chortle
I’m guilty of that. When I’m busy, I’ll just quickly read the short comments thinking I’ll go back to read the longer ones, but sometimes they get buried in the new comments before I can get to the longer, older comments.

When you apply for a 'Religious Exemption'.....it doesn't matter WHAT your pastor/preacher/priest/buddha etc says THEIR beliefs are. It is between the person putting in for the R/E and what THEIR spiritual beliefs are.
Yes! We know a JW who got one for work. Obviously, didn't tell share with many others, as the ORG said we do not have a religious exemption, but with their own letter and without naming a religion ...they got it for work. Good for them!

It may be a case of information overload too Mick. We are so constantly bombarded with information from email, texts, television, YouTube feeds and other media that it's more than anyone can take in, and it's not really all healthy or upbuilding information. Besides all of that, some here may do personal Bible reading and study, and reading of Bible literature. I'm personally reading the Studies in the Scriptures books, and there are 6 volumes, that's in addition to other reading. I find that I have to limit the information that I take in to things that are wholesome, upbuilding, have educational value and are spiritually beneficial.

There are so many topics and threads on this forum, and their turnover seems to be very quick as new topics are constantly being added, there's no way that I can follow every topic or thread here. 🤯 There would not be time for anything else. Sorry if I've missed some of your posts and those of others. It's not intentional I assure you. ❤

No offence I assure you it was just a try out as I really enjoy quick, concise delivery. I'm put off when it's reams of information infront of me. Unless it's from a trusted author.

Oh definately. Same here. 🧐

Forums really arn't good places for any really conversations of any real depth, for the most part.

I agree: You can only determine so much from text; Body language and facial expression give depth of passion and credibility in whatever subject is being discussed. Scriptural text does well in conveying the spirit though.

What is shocking is that full-time workers for the ORG were not allowed to claim a religious exemption on the GB’s mandate.

The GB cannot “mandate”. That term was completely overused and misunderstood. The government can mandate their subordinate agencies. Regular citizens were never under a mandate. But for some reason yet to be determined, the GB strongly WANTED JWs to get vaxxed. Hmmmm. Wonder what that could be? 🤔💵

They did mandate it. If the full time workers did not get vaccinated they were removed from their full time positions and would suffer disgrace as well as get kicked to the curb.

If that’s the case, then apparently the GB thinks they have actual ‘authority’. Which they don’t have. OR- this is just more proof they are acting as a “Governmental Organization’ of the UN. Because literally they had NO authority unless they aren’t telling us the whole truth. (Which we know they aren’t). 🤔

According to them they have the authority to issue health regulations as Moses did.

I too received a religious exemption. I did not mention in my letter anything about JW. The "organization" is not my conscience. And certainly not a source of medical advice for me either.

Well, not to me they don't!!! Then not, not now and not in the future, so never not!
But it does help identify where they fit into the scriptures. Notice they are the ones who place themselves in the position of Moses and it wasn’t Jehovah that did that.

Matthew 23:1-7: “Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying: ‘The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the seat of Moses. Therefore, all the things they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds, for they say but they do not practice what they say. They bind up heavy loads and put them on the shoulders of men, but they themselves are not willing to budge them with their finger. All the works they do, they do to be seen by men, for they broaden the scripture-containing cases that they wear as safeguards and lengthen the fringes of their garments. They like the most prominent place at evening meals and the front seats in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces and to be called Rabbi by men.’“

I agree with that, and I did not dispute that they had placed themselves in Moses' seat. This just struck a chord: 'According to them, they have the authority to issue health regulations, as Moses did.' Sorry.
Yet there is something in that text that I do not understand, perhaps you can clarify it for me?
'Therefore, all the things they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds,'
How can I 'do and observe al the things they tell me' but not doing them???

Do as they say (which is correctly stated by them) but do not do as they do (they do not lift a finger to do what they say, thus they are blatant hypocrites).

Hopefully I am on track to aiding you here unless I completely misunderstand your question.

They mostly teach the principles that are clearly in the bible, while they make exceptions for themselves. For example, one of their current articles on the website is about how women should be treated. Here is a quote from that article regarding someone who has been molested and yet they have been the source of mistreatment of victims of sexual abuse.

For 20 years I told no one that I had been sexually molested. As a result, I grew unhappy, anxious, and depressed. But when I finally shared my experience with someone who was willing to listen, I felt incredible relief.”—Elif, Türkiye.
Scripture: “Throw all your anxiety on [God], because he cares for you.”—1 Peter 5:7.
Meaning: When you pray, God really listens. (Psalm 55:22; 65:2) Because he cares, he can help you understand how valuable you really are.
“Learning about Jehovah began to help me heal from the deep wounds inflicted on me. Now I can confide in God through prayer. He is like a friend who really understands my feelings.”—Ana, Belize.

Will God ever stop the mistreatment of women?

Scripture: “Jehovah . . . will render justice to the fatherless and to those who are crushed, so that mortal man of the earth may no longer make them afraid.”—Psalm 10:17, 18.
Meaning: God will soon eradicate all injustice, including cruelty to and violence against women.
It has been like a soothing remedy for me to learn that Jehovah will soon end mistreatment against women and young girls. It has given me mental peace.”—Roberta, Mexico.

Thank you, it's certainly not your fault, but more my English translation. So I'm going to try to explain what I find difficult about this text and I'll take the vaxx as an example, without intending any judgement.
They said we should take the vax, 'do as they say', except for Lett who clearly has the consequences of a real vax, they either didn't take the vax or had a placebo, 'but not as they do' . Which means to me that according to this Biblical statement I should have taken the vax, 'do as they say'.
It has been clear to me for a long time that they are a bunch of lying hypocrites. But what concerns me is the Biblical statement that I don't understand. Hopefully it's a bit clearer what I mean?

It doesn’t say do everything they say, otherwise, they would be masters over your faith. I think it is clearly implied that when they teach bible principles, we should align our conduct to those principles. Getting vaccinated is not a bible principle and neither is coercing others into risking their lives on a poison vaccine.
