Daniel 12:2-3 " And many of those asleep in the dust of the earth will wake up, some to everlasting life and others to reproach and to everlasting contempt. And those having insight will shine as brightly as the expanse of heaven, and those bringing the many to righteousness like the stars, forever and ever."

These verses are talking about the Resurrection, and "those having insight" are the anointed after being sealed. They'll bring the resurrected to righteousness during the 1,000 years.

Daniel 12:10 "Many will cleanse themselves and whiten themselves and will be refined. And the wicked ones will act wickedly, and none of the wicked will understand; but those having insight will understand."

The first sentence seems to be describing the Great Crowd during the HOT, while the second sentence seems to be describing the good and evil slaves post sealing, but pre-separation. Interesting how the evil slave just won't understand.

Daniel 12:13 "But as for you, go on to the end. You will rest, but you will stand up for your lot at the end of the days."

What does "at the end of the days" mean? It doesn't say "after," it says "at." When I read this verse, what I take away is that Jehovah is telling Daniel he will stand up for the Israelites, his "lot," but when? I haven't seen anyone in the Zionist messianic community bring this up as proof that there will be 144,000 Israelites from the 12 tribes resurrected to lead them through Armageddon. Obviously, I don't believe this to be the case, but I am curious as to what this verse means.

Your post reminded me of the following thread - at first glance, it seems a good start to get the answer. Was not able to find a more direct route yet.

Hope this helps.

Daniel 12:13 "But as for you, go on to the end. You will rest, but you will stand up for your lot at the end of the days."

It depends upon what “lot” refers to. It may refer to “cause”. For what one has achieved, for their conduct of self and with others - a parallel with the scripture that says “the day of one’s death is better than the day of their birth.” I really do not know, I’m guessing.

We answer for our course of action and so if one has achieved favour with Jehovah, the verse can also refer to one’s example, or reference to be noted for their faith and dealings with others. The scripture appears to point to the fact that Jehovah will recognise the value of a person for how they responded to His Word - something therefore that one would stand up, or stand out for as an example. It sounds like a comforting assurance that Jehovah is true to His word in that though we will die, it is not the end and that, like the “sparrow” we have not fallen to earth without notice.

For the anointed it may also refer to those that they have turned toward Jehovah as they discharged the task given them (the talents), and so they would on resurrection, “stand up” “represent” those that have striven to follow Jehovah and that by doing so, they are presenting to Jehovah, the “interest” of the money (preaching the Word) given them that has led to the salvation of those preached to. Christ made note of it in prayer to Jehovah when he said to his Lord, “not one of them has been lost”. I see a similarity there with “your lot” to the work that the anointed are given in these days in saving life by discharging their duty - which also gives meaning to one’s “lot” - ergo, job, task, duty. “That is your lot…this falls to you to do.” As I said, I’m just guessing! 👍

I take this "lot" to be like an inheritance, probably of land as"the meek will inherit the land". The end of the days would then have to be when Daniel is resurrected. He will stand up from the grave and be given his reward.

I guess this is yet another question that will be answered later. There are so many unanswered questions, but lots of conflicting conjecture. I’m starting to believe that Jehovah intentionally allowed the centralization of religion behind a hierarchical system so that Christianity didn’t die out. He made sure there were always good slaves within the system to carry forward His message. Otherwise, the evil slave would have abandoned the Bible, and/or altered it into something unrecognizable. Instead, He protected it for us.

I’m growing more and more content to end my lifelong quest for answers, and have instead decided to wait for Jesus to answer them directly or indirectly. Just as the Pharisees and the Sadducees were laboring under false assumptions, so too all Christians are repeating their mistakes. They allowed tradition and ego, manifested via pride, arrogance and stubbornness, to blind themselves to the Truth. It’s going to happen again! Jesus is going to return, and the bulk of humanity, along with many Christians, are going to deny him and/or his remnant.

I’m going to take a break from seeking answers to currently unanswerable questions, and instead focus on the messages that are crystal clear. The Sermon on the Mount, Paul’s extensive writings about how to conduct ourselves, Proverbs... No more Revelation, Daniel, Isaiah… as they only lead to more questions and more conflict. I don’t know why I randomly opened Daniel chapter 12, but I did and that last sentence popped out at me.

Actually, the apostle Peter exhorted Christians to keep paying attention to prophecy as to a lamp shining in a dark place until the presence of Christ. So, you are following the apostle's advice. Jehovah's Witnesses, on the other hand, do not really do that since the Watchtower has deluded them into imagining that virtually all prophecy has been fulfilled with a few exceptions.

As for your question concerning "the end of the days," Daniel had been inspired to foretell what is to happen in the time of the end and the final part of the days. In fact, the book of Daniel is the only place in the Bible where the precise term "the time of the end" appears. We know that the time of the end is the same period as the final part of the days, the last days, and the conclusion of the system. By contrast, the expression "the end of the days" does not appear to refer to a prophetic time period. I take it to simply mean that at the end of the time Daniel is asleep in death. We know, of course, that the general resurrection will take place during the thousand years. It is not reasonable, though, to expect that everyone will be resurrected all at once. Besides that, Jesus told the dying thief that he would be with him in paradise. We cannot expect the great crowd to transform the earth into a paradise in a few years. It might take a few hundred years, during which time the survivors of the end of the world will have children, and their children have children, and on and on. So, the end of the days for Daniel to sleep in death is not a defined period. His resurrection may take place 2 or 300 years into the 1,000 years.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm at the mental place I used to get before a big exam... no matter how much I go over the materials, I'm just ready for the test. There was always a pre-test feeling of calm once I closed the books and readied my pen. I realized this last night after talking to Nomex. The endless cycle of arguing over currently unanswerable questions has finally burned me out. Maybe that's why PIMI JWs are so asleep, and content to "wait on Jehovah." I need a break from this constant "any day now" mentality that I've had for most of my adult life.

I recently watched the Tucker Carlson interview of Professor James Tour, who I've been following for years. He basically proves the theory of evolution is impossible. More than that, he's a Christian with an incredible story. What I take away from him is his positive energy. He's so happy, and I want to find that energy. I may be at peace, but I'm not happy. My faith has never been stronger; but that's not the issue. The issue is my constant need to know everything. I don't care if I'm right anymore, but this need to know what's happening has prevented me from enjoying the moment.

Daniel 12:13 "But as for you, go on to the end. You will rest, but you will stand up for your lot at the end of the days."

To me, I feel that Jehovah is saying that when the scriptures are finally opened up, Daniels prophecies will be fully explained and in this sense, Daniel will be standing up for us at the end of days. Of course we can only speculate but imagine if the two witnesses are given divine understanding to the scriptures that have been hidden, and it is this knowledge that helps many to put their faith in them. I understand your dilemma Carl, so many questions. I think Jahnomes post above speaks volumes when they said 'ignorance is bliss' but it does not fill the desire for knowledge. Knowledge is compared to food, and i'm like you, i'm hungry. Hey how about some pizza?

We will not know everything in this world, especially while being in the flesh. I'm encouraged by people here on this forum. I'm here to learn without any preconceived notions. I adhere to certain truths of the JW's, but my main objective is the search for biblical truth. In that regard, I'll always be a student.

The absorption of the Spirit is not a test but an acceptance. If it were a test, then we would all fail. The Bible refers to the heart condition and thus the core of our motivation. We have to accept that the weight of sin we carry cannot be absolved, only forgiven on the basis of our understanding of what we should be, and why. The blood of Jesus absolves what we owe.

Likewise, we will not ever know everything and that is the joy of living; to break off a piece of knowledge and play with it, learn from it and puzzle over it. Here is a piece of knowledge: Time does not exist unless something material happens. (It’s actually a recognised theory and thus legitimate). Apply that to the spirit world and ponder at will. 🤣 It suggests the prime question as to the eternal Jehovah. Knowing the answer or “being right” is not the issue. The enjoyment is in the pursuit of knowledge. Perfection is the standard in the eye of the beholder. It is otherwise unachievable and thus eternity will be forever infront of us, filled with the achievement of more to do. Be happy. Be content - live for the day. ❤️

“Woe to you who are filled up now, for you will go hungry.

“Woe, you who are laughing now, for you will mourn and weep.

“Woe whenever all men speak well of you, for this is what their forefathers did to the false prophets.

You know the saying 'ignorance is bliss'... :)
I’m not saying that I’m done studying the Bible. I read the Sermon on the Mount last night… I’m saying that I’m going to refocus my thinking, and be more happy with my day to day life, instead of constantly worrying about how the end of this system is going to unfold. I don’t need to know everything. If Jehovah wants me to know something, He’ll make sure I get the message. I’m just done trying to understand everything and worrying about what I don’t know…

Your post makes sense. I believe this very much. I’m content to wait for this to happen, instead of constantly re-reading Daniel and the other prophets… only to come away with more questions. I had pizza last weekend… jalapenos, onions mozzarella and cheddar!

I’ll always be a student, I’m just anxious to get the midterms over with.

I’m currently listening to a podcast interview of a young Amish kid. He’s been dubbed the most likable person on the internet due to his innocence and kindness. I don’t see Jehovah rejecting him due to his current religious beliefs. Somehow people like him and James Tour will be led to the remnant, I’m confident of this. I just want a little piece of the happiness they currently feel. If I’m supposed to feel unhappy and anxious… then Jehovah will correct me. Until then, I’m going to seek a little joy in my life.

This is the best interview I've ever watched. Very wholesome.

Los apóstoles hacían tiendas. Si quieres ver patrones, aunque no sean proféticos, teje.
