Do you know your worth?

I know mine... 30 pieces of silver maybe?

“Then I said to them: “If it seems good to you, give me my wages; but if not, withhold them.” And they paid my wages, 30 pieces of silver. Then Jehovah said to me: “Throw it into the treasury—the magnificent value with which they valued me.” So I took the 30 pieces of silver and threw it into the treasury at the house of Jehovah.” (Zec 11:12, 13)

Jesus said “Observe intently the birds of heaven; they do not sow seed or reap or gather into storehouses, yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth more than they are.” (Matthew 6:26)
Luke 12:6 says “Five sparrows sell for two coins of small value, do they not?“ The last part of verse 7 Jesus added, “Have no fear; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

I know mine too…whatever the price is on sparrows…maybe?

Love those little birds, have them living in a tree in my neighbors house, they're cute and they like to sing. Thank God you didn't say a Magpie.

Sorry if my comment seemed sanctimonious, I don't personally feel worth 30 pieces of silver. Just trying to present the general feeling of this forum, which would be the feeling of betrayal by the WTBTS

Yes, I love to hear the birds sing too. It’s almost as if Jehovah created them to be able to sing for the purpose of benefiting humans. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like music.

Lol why did you specifically mention Magpies?
Just asking because I know someone who goes just about every day to a park, I think, to feed the Magpies there.

No, your comment did not appear in any way sanctimonious to me…you’re just wanting assurance of your worth, especially because of those feelings of betrayal from WTBTS.

But the real question should be, what is your worth in Jehovah’s eyes?

First off what's a Magpie? In Canada we sarcastically call them "Canadian peacocks", because they can get super annoying.

What's my worth? Honestly many times I feel not much, if anything, but then Jehovah does something to remind me his Son died for me and he's aware of my circumstances and is helping me to remain faithful. The book I wrote is an expression of Jah's underserved kindness. As to Betrayal, I most definitely feel that scar in my spirit by the WTBTS. When the persecution of the 3 1/2 years starts in earnest, then I guess we'll all feel it in our flesh if we remain loyal.

Lol. Didn't mean this to turn into a depressing room

Nah, I’m trying not to look at it that way.
I mean, in Jehovah’s eyes we all should know our real worth. We’re precious in his eyes.

It seems we have to keep reminding ourselves how much Jehovah values us.
After all, if Jehovah would pay so high a price as his own Son’s precious life…to buy us as an opportunity to live forever, surely we must be worth something in His eyes! We really can’t put a dollar amount on it can we?

It’s just that times we think less of ourselves than at other times. We can be unreasonably hard on ourselves from time to time.

So I always have to go back to one of my favorite verses at 1John 3: 19, 20 we are reminded “By this we shall know that we originate with the truth, and we shall assure our hearts before him as regards whatever our hearts may condemn us in, because God is greater than our hearts and knows all things.”

An especially good reminder for me today!

Isn’t Jehovah wonderful!
