The filmmaker she has working with on the Jehovah’s witness project use to live here and was raised as a witness but never baptized. Her name is Claire Dooley, and she now lives in Austin, Texas. Her mom was a baptized witness and still lives here where I stay. She was DF last year because she spoke out against the vaccines. Her whole family are witnesses and we’ve know them all since our kids were friends with their kids growing up and in the same congregation.
About a month ago Claire called me to ask if I wanted to do a phone interview. I said yes but wanted to be anonymous. She agreed and would even disguise my voice, but it was slight. She’s also tried to find more willing participants but many of them are too scared. Although she did find a few….but she‘s not quite finished with the project yet. So far she was able to send me part of the preview with my voice and some other brave souls she interviewed. She does it like a documentary with you seeing her as she’s narrating, then showing various scenes to explain some of the practices of the organization and some changes over the years. In between they’re are the different JW’s who comment about their experiences during this pandemic and how the organization/ congregations have handled it from the beginning of the pandemic.
She doesn’t bash the organization nor say anything derogatory about it. She knows that there are good people in Jehovah’s organization and acknowledges this in the film. I think it’s very well done. She’s still having to do some editing work as well.
As I said, she was wanting to find other witnesses that would be willing. I’d been talking to her mom off and on and told her about the the ewatchman website and talk forum. I told Claire about it too so a few weeks ago she asked me if I knew anyone from the forum that I could get to give a voice recording statement if you were disfellowshipped for questioning Covid measures. Then she got busy…but today I sent her a message about the Naomi Wolf video interview. She sent me a voice message to tell me she was finishing up the project I spoke about, to be released soon. She requested me to send her a direct link to this forum, so I did.
I could keep y’all posted if you like. I don’t know if anyone on here would be interested in doing an anonymous interview but I thought I’d put that out there just in case.
