Funny Memes Only

One fine day, my wife and I were going grocery shopping. I have little patience for being pinned down in an aisle trying to get out so I always park far away. Wifey passes up perfectly fine parking spaces because she wanted to catch someone pulling out of a closer one. I asked how long she was going to circle and burn gas. Mumble mumble.
I pointed out the empty spots down the way and happened to mention that a little walking wouldn't hurt.
You could see the paint peel on the car next to us. I had to hear fat this fat that for the next week or so.
Amazing! My wife does exactly the same thing - drives past empty spaces to get a few yards closer. It must be the nesting instinct. I get the feeling I’m going to get “put right” any minute now……..

I gave up on doing that a long time ago. I figured it doesn’t hurt to walk a little more if you have to.

Unfortunately this is not a joke. This is really the advice that ABC news gives on how to avoid forgetting your children in a hot car.

Quite right. When I took the children out on a warm day I always put the dog in the back seat to remind me that the children were there and to take him out if I left them in the car.

That's insane, but maybe it does show where people's priorities lie these days.

3 kids and never once did I forget to take them out of the car.
Didn’t you speak with your children while driving? I always was engaged with my children, while driving a car. If they were too quiet, I had to look in the rearview to see what they were up to. I just don’t understand how one would forget a child in a car.

Yes exactly. There was usually so much noise coming from the back seat that there's no way to forget. It was different when they were very young and putting them in the car put them to sleep. But still, that's like forgetting your arm or some other part of your body. How in the world...🤷‍♀️

I had to have 3 of my kids in the back while I was learning to drive, they were 8, 9 and 10 and fought and argued like crazy.. many times I felt like getting out of the car and leaving them behind 🤪

When I had my children in the car - this was before seatbelts - they were more often than not hanging round my neck asking where we were going, what we were doing, when we’re going to get there, and can we stop for an icecream etc etc. …….except when we went to assemblies. Then it was dead silence. Listen to the silence . It’s a warning sign!

I wish my mother had left me at home when she was learning to drive. She was a positive danger on the road - or off it for that matter, and which was a far more frequent an event than any sane person could endure. She gave kerb crawling a whole new meaning. I don’t know how many times she would hit the kerb when driving and the near misses we had were enough to drive any person to drink. I was thanking God for the journeys safe end, long before I knew His name!

That's alright Barn, right after my mom got her license she backed out of the garage with the garage door down, not all the way out, but there was a pretty big hole and pretty sure she had to have repairs on the car too. 😂

Haha! I always gave my kids presents to open on the journey to the assemblies, 3 each, we passed under 3 bridges on the journey (A21 to Godstone, Haysbridge Assembly Hall) and they could only open them one by one after we'd gone under each one. So my kids loved the assembly journeys 😜 right ol' mind manipulator wasn't I?? 😆 To be honest with you, we loved the assemblies and conventions, especially when we got fed there too. Gradually, the org stripped all the "niceties" away so I just made sure to provide the "niceties" myself 😁
