Governing Body update #2 March 2024

I hope those whom Bro Sanderson is addressing repent and come to their senses. However, the GB surely knows that a growing number of JWs are leaving, becoming inactive and disassociating themselves, not because they want to practice something sinful, but because they have become sickened by the Watchtower's hypocrisy. According to Jehovah's denunciation of the shepherds in the 34th chapter of Ezekiel, God's piercing vision sees that the shepherds are feeders of themselves. "You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bandaged the injured or brought back the strays or looked for the lost; rather, you have ruled them with harshness and tyranny."

Consider the tens of thousands of children who have been sexually abused. Has the Governing Body ever reached out to them? Has there ever been a word of apology for keeping pedophiles from prosecution and knowingly appointing pedophiles as overseers as long as the congregation is unaware that a sexual predator is counted as their elder? Many of Jehovah's Witnesses have been deeply disturbed by the Governing Body's glowing endorsement of the vaccines. This Update would have been an appropriate venue for Brother Sanderson to confess his sin and repent and apologize for imparting Jehovah's blessing to a scheme that is killing people. How can the Governing Body appeal to the multitudes to come back when they are responsible for driving them away?

By the way, Brother Sanderson, about the 11-minute mark you stated matter-of-factly that anyone who has been away from the congregation for a considerable time would no doubt be very weak spiritually. It has been nearly 20 years for me and I do not at all consider myself to be spiritually weak. On the contrary, Jehovah has stood by me like a terrible mighty one. I truly admonish every one of the Governing Body and their Helpers to repent before the master arrives to clean house.

I actually feel spiritually stronger having been away, a deeper understanding of things written in the bible, and the “truth”

Take note of this update. Sanderson has a beard!

I have always liked Mark. I have heard nothing but good things about him. Beard looks great on him. Though if he were my friend, I would ask him to skip breakfast at morning worship and hit the gym. Not that he looks bad, it's just that carrying around that much extra weight is not good for his health.

He is a likable fellow. My wife and I and another brother spent a day with Mark back in the early 90s. We drove him from San Diego up to Idyllwild Ca to see an old anointed brother who was a friend of his. They were both collectors of Watchtower memorabilia, as I recall. I suspect Mark's influence created the museum in Warwick. He is all about holding the Watchtower up as an untarnished idol and beacon of unfailing light.

They are appealing to them in a fleshly way by ALLOWING brothers to wear beards, sisters to wear slacks, no ties for brothers.
Where’s the appealing to them spiritually? Then as Robert said, admitting THEIR MISTAKES.

As far as me being spiritually weak, I’d be more spiritually weak if I’d be attending those glorifying the GB meetings that are shallow and lacking the spiritual food we need.

No thank you, I’ll just stay right here where I’ve been the most spiritually fed, upbuilt and have learned more here about the Bible than I had been for the years prior at meetings. And I thank Jehovah every day for that.

When we went to Bethel one summer, when many of the Bethelites are away on vacation we were walking down the hall and we saw Sanderson twice by himself and both times he didn’t stop to greet us or even say hi.

And the thing about it is when you have a heart full of Christ you can't help but want to hug a fellow believer! He must have been carrying alot of distraction to miss your appealing, welcoming smiling faces!

IMO, the motive for the "graciousness" shown by the GB by "allowing" us to make our own personal decision is purely selfish and as the expression goes "a day late and a dollar short".
They're losing members. The dam is cracking and they're running around trying to plug all the holes.

In regard to now being "allowed" to speak or smile to a disfellowshipped person is hard to stomach. I remember, several years ago, a disfellowshipped sister began to attend the meetings. Sorrow and despair was written all over her face.
I couldn't help but give her a sideways glance with a little smile. Certainly couldn't let anyone else in the congregation see me do such a dastardly thing for fear I would be in the back room and Jerry would be removed. ;)
She was eventually reinstated and I ended up studying with her. (Phyllis)

But, still, no apology!

Yes, it is disgusting and offensive they don't apologize to CSA victims and truly do try to work with the pedophile and DO PROTECT them more than show concern for the victim. Personally offended! The whole update was bothersome. We had multiple texts telling us to watch the update and how good it was. Are they kidding? So, you can greet disfellowshipped person at the meeting and smile and walk away? The LDS at least will talk to them at their mtgs. All we heard were more of the scribes and pharisees talking. I guess since we can now wear pant suits and no ties or jackets we are suppose to jump up and down? We think it is about Norway and other countries coming after them so they are trying to show they don't "completely shun". Did they miss the point that when people choose to leave they should be able to do so without losing their families? And baptized minors and the shunning?

Also, we think he needs to put on a red hat, suit and gather his reindeer and conclude with ho ho ho! He looks like Santa Clause!

The negatives and destroyed faiths aside (these are important, and Jehovah will require reckoning, but I'll leave that to him), as someone who goes to meetings, I'm loving the beards and now "no ties" update.

They are coming closer to a real Christian congregation again. Less outward and inward judgment.

Deal with serious sin and REAL apostasy, not miniscule nonsense.

I didn't expect that my post of December 15th 2023, about the bluejeans for sisters would be implemented this fast.
It seems they are panicking @ Bethel in order to keep the sheep in the pen / pants 🤣
We thought they were going to announce sisters could now be an MS or Elder...who knows..
we will be back to celebrating b-days and X-Mas before you know it as a conscience matter. Oh and blood too!
Just don't talk to anyone who is "apostate", who doesn't OBEY the GB commands!

Btw: I'm opting for a wager: Next big change / new light will probably be:
In a recent GB update video Anthony Morris said that the organization would NEVER change their stance on the disfellowshipping policy.
Since it was Anthony Morris who said this on cam, (if I remember correctly), now they could claim that this was the reason why they removed Morris from the Governing Body. So now that Anthony is out of the way, they could say that they will change their disfellowshipping policy after all.

Lets see what the near future brings!

He said more than once, “the Governing Body has decided” and that appears to be the reasoning for the changes. Also, I think this update further verifies that they are reading Robert King’s commentaries because they are softening how they deal with young people who have sinned. But they seem to be digging in with regard to “apostates”!
