In England during the Great War, conscientious objectors were purposely put in danger or ‘accidentally’ shot somehow or other. They were still sent to the combat zones and some acted as stretcher bearers and were killed that way for their mercy to others. They didn’t carry rifles either.
I would never knowingly get involved with any killing either. If the authorities want to kill me for my stand then so be it, they can't stop Jehovah ressurecting me if He chooses to
Have you watched this video? It was a rule, a strict rule that those who did not obey it were disfellowshipped just like the blood rule. This was coercion. Especially to those who had family and friends and stood to lose it all. I don't want to hear from you if you don't watch the video. Do you have family? Do you have children? Are you still in the organization? Jehovah gave us directions on how to deal with lawbreakers and apostates and false prophets. Do not throw away your responsibility on Jehovah. I am no longer going to reply to you. You are an apostate and you have no love for Jehovah or your brother. There are ways to avoid killing or harming anyone by serving as an aid to elderly or sick or by cleaning the street. That was always an option but Watchtower's rule was against that also. I do not have patience for those who always miss the point but believe themselves to be qualified teachers. In England during the Great War, conscientious objectors were purposely put in danger or ‘accidentally’ shot somehow or other. The person you speak of died for his faith. It does not intrinsically make any difference that watchtower changed their beliefs upon the matter. He believed it was true. There are a number of issues with that. The biblical advice is to check what one believes. We are all guilty of not doing that otherwise we would not have joined, would we? It is our responsibility. Watchtower’s sin is primarily toward Jehovah. We, including those within watchtower are responsible to ourselves to check what is told us is true.
If you go back to the 1500’s you will find that the Catholic Church was quite happy to burn people to death for believing that the earth rotated around the sun. The Catholic Church have since changed their mind. Have you appealed to catholics to seek redress?
You might well do better to look to your own understanding before asking others to join you. Watchtower role has been explained to you by various ones here. It would be of benefit to you to read it. “Vengeance is mins sayeth Jehovah. I will repay”.
I’m not A Postate ! You are thinking of my brother Arthur Postate. People forget to add the full stop after his first name and so it’s easy think he’s Apostate. I’m M. Postate. I’m his dog. You are more than welcome to pop over here and throw my master off a cliff though if you are looking to avenge me for my comment. I’ll give you a hand if you like, though he swims well and is unlikely to drown, but if you are really into throwing dogsHave you watched this video? You are so completely out of line here in your comment to our dear brother @BARNABY THE DOG. You may imagine you have a voice here but it comes across as one of sanctimony and self righteousness. I cannot speak for anyone but myself and @Brother potato who pointed this ridiculous comment of yours out to me, but I will feel better if you simply step back a bit and take a breath. You may feel like you are some kind of spiritual giant amidst people you are certain can only benefit from hearing you diatribe to your heart's content, but you are new here. Show some respect! Tread a bit lighter would be my strong suggestion. As for me, I will follow Susan's suggestion and opt out.Have you watched this video? We ought to wear this scriptural reminder as a frontlet band and practise it before we engage our tongue: Romans2:1 "Therefore you are inexcusable O man, whoever you are, if you judge; for when you judge another, you condemn your self, because you who judge practice the same things."Have you watched this video? I wouldn’t dream of it!!Time to use the ignore button.
I’m glad you’re in touch with brother potato. He is too rare on the site - seems to pop up every spring for a short time and then disappear. Do please pass on my regards to him.You are so completely out of line here in your comment to our dear brother @BARNABY THE DOG. You have a stronger stomach for this stuff than I do. I have to regularly clean my brain because what goes into often just rattles around during the day.I wouldn’t dream of it!!
Not really Susan, I have unfortunately heard it all before. One reaches a state late in life when one begins to feel for the loss in others that is so easily seen, even if not fully understood by them. The latest example is just one such case where for want of a little thought, the greater the picture is to be found as a gift. But no, they choose instead to struggle with the latent evil bubbling away in watchtower and instead of exploring the opening door to see what is behind it and seek understanding from what becomes visible, they choose instead to shut it and fight the beast endlessly to the death in the hope to crush it. They will not. But to convince them otherwise is fruitless. You have a stronger stomach for this stuff than I do. That was a great explanation Barney! Just shows you that people come to this forum for different reasons other than for finding scriptural answers to their questions.. "recruits" maybe? Not really Susan, I have unfortunately heard it all before. Or they are pathological “right fighters” meaning they must be proven right at all costs. The opposite of what we are told to do, which is seek Jehovah’s righteousness. Not really Susan, I have unfortunately heard it all before. Very true! And if you don’t seek it, you get to know the wrong end of it too!Or they are pathological “right fighters” meaning they must be proven right at all costs. The opposite of what we are told to do, which is seek Jehovah’s righteousness.
I feel that some come seeking to redress their hurt. I think we have all vented our spleens here one way or another, but it does not build up understanding of the Bible to prove others wrong in their understanding. Only the truth gives relief but some find that difficult to look for. It is actually a blessing to be released from watchtower if one does so by understanding it. I’m convinced that Jehovah brings those seeking to an understanding should they truly want it - and does so according to their need. But one must reach out and take it. One must rise above one’s self to seek truth. It’s not within us, but given us to understand if we reach out and take it.That was a great explanation Barney! No. She was referring to A. Postate, my brother - Arthur Postate. We are a large family in watchtower. Brother Lett referred to our family recently in a talk about A. Postate lies and how the brethren should listen to us - or something along those lines. She should listen my cousin, Ima Heathen. He is really off the rails.Did she just label Barnaby an “apostate”?
