John’s Gospel

I found it humorous how John portrayed Peter. While other writers such as Matthew, Mark and Luke omit Peter, John called him out.

The other Gospels: “One of those with Jesus reached out his hand and drew his sword and struck the slave of the high priest, taking off his ear.”(Matthew 26:51; Mark 14:47; Luke 22:50)

John’s Gospel: It was Peter. (John 18:10)
Another one is this, which John showed he is faster than Peter.

John 20:3,4: “Then Peter and the other disciple set out for the tomb. The two of them began running together, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first.”

And when Peter was told of what way he will die, he wants to know also in what way John will die. Is it out of concern or he wants also for him to have it the same way?

John 21:21 “So when he caught sight of him(John), Peter said to Jesus: “Lord, what about this man?”
John wrote his Gospel in his old age, and yet it seems, their old quarrel on who is the greatest of them will yet again be fought in heaven. Just kidding.
