So on this FB JW forum there was a post about how bad things are. I left a reply basically saying we haven't seen anything yet. Of course, I get a response saying I am wrong. You can read it below in the screenshot. Looking for some ideas on subtle ways I can respond.

He at least admits that it will escalate but then hand waves it away like many JWs do thinking they'll be watching the great tribulation and Armageddon on TV in our basements while the rest of the world suffers most of the consequences.

Yep. It's watchtower indoctrination where they think we're already seeing all the signs.

Remember Jesus said that the good news will be preached first and THEN the end will come, well, the preaching work is still going on, so the END hasn't begun yet 👍😊

Right, and not to mention the collapse of the present system. But I guess they can't be expected to understand all of that with watchtowers influence.

True, but it's a scripture they QUOTE a lot, we just need to get them to THINK about it 😄

It can't be impossible Patricia, we here are proof of that ☺️
I fear that my being here is due to my rebellious nature.😩 I can't say about anyone else.

I believe that there are some pimi that are seeing the truth but just can't make a break... yet. I met some a few days ago. But the majority refuse to see.

Me too Patricia, me too.. but, I'd never have been able to learn the truth in the first place if it wasn't because of my "rebellious" nature 🤗 so maybe we're using the wrong word to describe our spirit 😁

I read it differently. The scripture does not say the preaching work will cease, only that it will come first. (Correct me if I’m wrong). Why would anyone stop preaching because there is a war on. While life exists, so does repentance - thief next to Jesus ! I’m not ever going to stop arguing for the truth while I draw breath. Besides which, the end is certainly coming here down south. The price of a good Stilton cheese is outrageous! 🧐

That is true, the Bible doesn't actually say that the preaching work will end, just that it comes before the end. Maybe it's just Watchtower's preaching work that will end and the individual, true witnesses preaching work will continue 🤔

Well, they did promote the bunker videos several years ago. From what I remember, it did look like a basement. In real life, maybe they will refuse to answer the door, and the bad guys will go away. They could "identify" as not hearing the knock.

The problem is even though all of us were in for so long, we still tend to see things through that JW lens to a certain extent. But let me translate this for everyone, "or those who do not serve Jehovah, it's going to be much harder though." Translation, "for those who refuse to get baptized in the name of WT, it will be impossible to have the Mark of the Beast removed, so that they can survive Armageddon." This is what they really believe, even if they don't know it themselves. Personally, I think the only thing any of us can do is plant seeds, but ultimately it will be up to each individual to actually, "make the truth their own" , rather than making WT their own! I suspect the brothers will be a lot more open minded as things begin to unravel and the GB are discredited more and more.

While on this subject let me point this out. When I first heard learned about the CSA stuff and at the same time I learned about the UN NGO partnership they had, I was still able to make excuses for WT! This was also around the same time I really started researching real world events, not the propaganda put out by MSM. That was when I first heard about the governments plan to eventually force vaccinate people. I had also learned about all the side effects including death that vaccines do cause but we are never told about. I did not have children at the time, but I had decided I would never vaccinate, or vaccinate my kids if I had them.

Here's the point, it was around this time that I asked an elder I was very good friends with, "if the government ever mandated vaccines, what would the society's view be on that?" He did not have an answer. But that was at least 15 years, maybe more before Covid. But it was a line WT COULD NOT cross for me, and as it turns out, my wife too.

I suspect and hope, there are similar situations for others out there, like I just relayed! With all the contradictions of WT that I was very much aware of, I believed WT in good faith, and I supposed and again I hope, this is true for most rank and file! But my situation has also revealed to me why Jehovah does allow it, or rather I should say, I understand it, because I lived it. Once I realized what WT and the GB were really up to I rejected it.

I wish I'd learned about injecting the kids sooner 🥲🥺 I did have slight suspicions because of the amount of people who's babies died soon after getting injected, but I thought I was being paranoid and that "SIDS" as it was called then, was unexplained..

So this was my reply. Hope it doesn't raise too many red flags. 😆

It's better to prepare for the unexpected than to assume the worst is behind us. The Jews were certain their temple wouldn't be destroyed. The apostles knew Jesus would sit on a literal throne and usher in God's kingdom in their generation. After hearing what Jesus said concerning John, they knew Jesus would return before John died. Just imagine what we'll know tomorrow.

Great job Josh!

The discussion continues:

I love how her advice centers on the organization instead of scripture. You'll see what I mean. Some of the names have been changed.

Mary

Well that's not exactly accurate, saying we've not seen anything yet. The feet and clay prophecy covers all these things and yes we are noticing. It's one more part of the end-time prophecies. Yes it's going to escalate, we do expect that though, if that's what you meant. For those who will not serve Jehovah, it's going to be much harder though.

No one thinks the worst is behind us, we all know better. It's best to get on Jehovah's side while we still have time, though.

Josh

Of course. The issue I am pointing to very much rests on what it means to be on Jehovah's side.

For the most part, at least in the developed world, we live in relative peace. It wasn't always like that. Most of the apostles died horribly. Jehovah has given us a gift in this world, despite its shortcomings.

But I am afraid people today are not ready for what is coming. Anybody aware right now can see the writing on the wall. Something big is about to happen, and I don't think any of us are truly prepared for that.

Mary

Thankfully the brothers have been preparing us as much as possible. Many talks about it and the experiences of those who are persecuted and worse in other countries.

On the website there have been interviews with former prisoners in terrible places in other countries that are under ban. Things are quickly changing here. Now is the time to build our faith, trust, and integrity.

Something big is right. The Great Tribulation is ever closer now and then finally Jehovah will put a stop to it all.

Susan

We can say, “Oh, I'll do this or that if I get arrested or put in prison.” Until we actually experience it, we don't know exactly how we will react.

But it's a sure thing that if we stay close to Jehovah, he will help us react in a manner worthy of bearing His name.

Josh

Thanks. This is exactly what I am hinting at.

I'm not sure what the organization says specifically about the mark of the beast. Perhaps aspects of it have already occurred, but some things obviously have not. Brothers against brothers. Parents having their kids put down. Children rising up against their parents. I don't think this is just referring to the violence in the world, because that's always happened.

I think it's referring to an event where we all turn on each other.

Going back to the mark of the beast, there's an aspect of economy in there where we won't be allowed to buy or sell. It has never been possible before to fully lock somebody out of the economy.

Although there's more to it than just a digital currency, I have Bitcoin for example, but governments all over the world are working on a central bank digital currency which is basically programmable money.

Again, I don't know if that's what's going to happen or not, but with technology like that it would absolutely enable the government to prevent anyone they want from buying or selling unless they do XYZ.

I fear people simply do not comprehend just how bad the tribulation could be.

But yes, as long as you trust in Jehovah there is nothing to fear.

Mary

If you would pick up a regular study it would help. But in the meantime, you can research “mark of the beast” and other things on our own website.

Our website will give the facts, but offshoot stuff like YouTube or opposer websites often twist things, as you know.

Josh

My understanding of the mark primarily comes from the book of Revelation. As you know, with me being an outsider I may have some varying views, but I try hard to base those views on scripture.

In fact, I see everything happening right now on the world scene through the lens of prophecy.

David

Solomon wrote at Ecclesiastes 2:11 that after reflecting on all his works and hard labor, he saw that everything was futile, a chasing after the wind, with nothing of real value under the sun.

But later, at Ecclesiastes 12:13, he concludes: “Fear the true God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole obligation of man.”

There aren't many commandments that we must keep, certainly not the ten revealed to Moses. Here are a few:
  • Hebrews 10:24–25: Meet together and encourage one another as we see the end drawing near
  • John 13:34–35: Love those brothers that you're meeting with
  • Matthew 28:19–20: Make disciples, preach, and teach
I'm sure there are more commandments, laws, principles, and recommendations, but those three are enough for me to focus on and keep me busy for now.

Not sure if you'll get to see my comment, so I'll also drop it in a private message.

Mary

We do not view interested ones as “outsiders,” just those who don't yet have accurate knowledge of truths. It's accessible to all of us as a personal choice.

And there you have it, these are the ONLY things that a JW thinks is required of you to "serve" Jehovah." In other words, follow the Org without question. Make disciples of who? The problem the Org now has, is they do NOT baptize in the name of "the Father, Son and Holy Spirit", it is "Father, Son Holy Spirit and WT." Maybe point that out.

Maybe say something like, "I hesitate to get too involved with the official WT Org, because I have learned you cannot disagree with anything the Org officially teaches, and you do not baptize 'in the name of the Father Son, and Holy Spirit', it's Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and the WT org, which cannot be denied since the baptismal questions include, 'do you understand your baptism associates you with Jehovah's Witnesses?' And since the nation if Israel was 'God's Organization', they did not stop them from losing Jehovah's favor several times and having to be disciplined, and finally rejected entirely." Maybe something like that, make them squirm a little...LOL! And watch them desperately try to justify it, and try to claim that will NOT happen again, blah blah blah!

I try hard to be subtle as possible, yet even as tactful as I am I still seem to ruffle a few feathers. If I push too hard they will ban me. LOL

Speaking of unexpected things to come, just stumbled onto this video sitting here at work. Currently waiting to see if train crew needs anything before we get coffee in the Waffle yard. You all might find this video interesting.

Well, JW Letters just booted me off the group. The admin, who I still think it a good person wrote me today. Here's what he said.

Hello Josh, we've been considering your continuing in the letters group. Personally, I've found that you have a good heart and have gathered a pretty good dose of the truth as laid out by Jehovah's Witnesses, but as you well know, acceptable worship of Jehovah involves more than that. So, it is with a heavy heart that I'm going to remove you from the group, but I hope it will be temporary and that you shall soon return. Membership in the group depends on whether you are a Witness or are making progress in that direction, whether studying with someone or at the very least, attending meetings regularly. Please let me know when that occurs and if you like I shall be glad to add you back as a member. I sincerely wish you the best.

Was it something you said or the fact you don’t attend meetings that got you booted?
