LAHAINA

This video is pretty amazing. The guy who created the video appears to be a brother. Hopefully this link works: https://www.kitv.com/news/lahaina/h...cle_b8d70f14-50d4-11ee-87b0-8bdc73cbc82c.html

Sorry evw! I will try to find another source for this video. Basically it is a guy describing what he is dealing with as he drives around Lahaina trying to get home after work just as the fire was maturing into the inferno it ended up being. He was trying to get to the Kingdom Hall. It was the way he said it that made me think he was overly familiar with the hall. He also had a chance to cuss but instead said "Holy cow!" in response to something he saw happening while he was recording this video. Who in that intense of a situation would say "holy cow" but a witness? I was fully expecting him to say "holy shittake mushroom" if you get my drift LOL. Anyway, it is an interesting video that involves the K-Hall. Again, I will try to find another source or (maybe) will record it myself and post it later.

Even the left wing Hawaii news admits that HECO had already deactivated all the power lines and so the police blockades were the wrong thing to do. Wow. And, I read that the Hawaii Attorney General is doing an investigation but the results won’t be made public until the politicians get to review it. People are dead and all they seem to care about is the cover up. Sounds familiar.

I don’t think he was a witness. I can’t imagine any, even the most wayward witness using such an outrageous expletive. He must have been an Englishman on holiday and thus politely making an attempt to communicate a slightly extraordinary sight in the American language. We try to fit in and not to be conspicuous tourists. Hence the “Holy Cow.“ It’s the only American expletive we can pronounce with any certainty and we know it is acceptable because it was used in The Walton’s, and on more than one occasion too !!! The note I have when clicking on your link, tells me it is actually “illegal” for me to view it and so I’m rather intrigued as to just what it is you have posted - I hope it’s going to be worth the wait - life can be rather dull over here.

@evw @BARNABY THE DOG. Here is the link to the video you folks in foreign lands are unable to view for some reason. I recorded this and uploaded it to YouTube.

Thanks for this Meditator. What a strange world we live in. So where did the police go when the flames reached the town? Did they just drive off and leave their captives to burn?

It appears Barn Burt that Five-O did indeed drive off and leave at least 115 precious souls to burn or choke in the smoke to their untimely demise. A mistake they are not going to be able to live down for some time.

I know one thing, they both were stuffed to the brim on Costco hot dogs! 🌭🌭🌭🌭🌭🌭 LOL

Interesting update here. My daughter and her husband have been assigned to Lahaina by Disaster Relief and are arriving on Maui this coming Monday Sept 25. They were assigned to the Paradise Ca. fire and spent about a year on site there, but I think that situation was a bit different than what is currently unfolding in Lahaina. I have been sending them as much of the local news as I can to prep them for what they may possibly encounter here in "paradise". This morning while speaking to her over the phone I was in the process of telling her to stay close to Jehovah and Jesus (the go-to JW statement has typically been "stay close to the organization") but she enthusiastically interrupted and finished my sentence by saying "stay close to Jehovah with prayer and Bible reading and ask for His holy spirit". AWESOME! Has she been visiting and reading the content on this forum LOL?

More updates to come as matters develop and/or become known. Prayers are requested, thank you in advance!

@Medi-tator Oh and BTW, I think the only thing that saved his life, is he didn't get "life saving direction" from WT. No direction, is way better than WT direction...had he been a recipient of "unreasonable, unreliable, impractical, stupid, doesn't make much sense, shut up and do what the hell you're told, you stupid scum," advice coming from WT he'd be a dead man. Well maybe he still is, we'll have to wait and see if he survives what comes next!

UPDATE

The Disaster Relief work provided by The Branch is coming to a close in Lahaina. Here is a link to the recent Branch Visit which was recorded for distribution to the friends who were unable to attend in person. This special meeting was held at the Pidgen congregation so the songs are sung in Pidgen except for the very last song.

For those interested, here is the link. Branch Appreciation Visit - held Saturday January 27, 2024 on the island of Maui

One can tell how traditionally isolated the English can be in their thinking. After years and years of being berated and disciplined over dress and appearance, even a thin line of facial hair, and even to the point of “tight pants Tony”, I click on the link provided only to find an elder conducting the meeting in a flower-power shirt, and a garland of coconut leaves around his neck instead of a sober tie - and though not shown, probably suited up in a grass miniskirt too below the waist. My imagination also instantly conjured up the sisters swaying away on the platform leading the singing in hula hula outfits with appropriately placed and polished coconut shells and the tempting flashes of thigh as the breeze floated through those grass skirts. It’s just all too much for an early morning trawl through the Forum. Please put a warning on your content, Meditator if you’re going to fire my imagination this early in the morning. And all because the elder was a Hawaii 5-0 fan. You’ve got me “meditating“ now - it’s going to take a loooong time to dispel the vision of a group of sisters dressed in nothing but coconut shells and grass skirts leading the singing.☹️!!!

They don't call you "The Dog" for nothing :LOL:. Sorry Barn, I forgot to mention that ties are no longer required for "spiritual activities" here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Beards and aloha shirts are all the rage over here now :ROFLMAO:.
