yes i heard about that. what a bunch of underhanded scoundrels.
So a few years back, they built a new Hall near us. We live close to the beach on the coast, somewhere in the US...LOL. The odd thing was this... When we moved to the City we live in now many years ago, we looked at a house for rent almost literally across the street from the Kingdom Hall which was on the beach. I was excited because I thought if we lived there it would be really hard to miss meetings. The congregation is called "Beaches______Congregation". As it turns out we didn't rent that house...
Many years later they bought a property and later ended up building two Halls on it. This has been within I'd say the last 10 years, with the newer Hall definitely within that 10 year period, I'd say maybe 6-7 years ago. The strange thing is this. The property is at least 4 to 5 miles from the bridge to the beach, not in the "beaches territory" and not even close. I live I think about a block from the most farthest edge of their territory and the Hall is still a couple miles North and in the opposite direction of their territory from the beach. They are about 1/4 mile south of the farthest northern boundary where there is a road, and then it's waterways, etc. Now, the Hall was very close to the farthest southern boundary, although there is another congregation farther south, and that one is worth noting a little later in this post.
The strange thing here, is I heard people were upset about this Hall's location, and heard that the WT "picked it for them, because they were dragging their feet and couldn't find something in their territory." As I said, they built two halls on this property, and at least 5 congregations, probably 6 meet there. (Which may be the real reason they illuminated the "book study" so they could cram more congregations into more Kingdom Halls. Just thinking and typing.) I know 3 meet at our Hall. The other Hall I had been there, and it was very close to a major Highway, and the Beaches Hall was...well let me put it this way...the same house I live in would be probably 3 times the price at the location where this Hall was. If I had to guess, a $200,000 property there would be worth a minimum of $600,000....I wish I knew the address where it was, because we could do a public records search and find out what it sold for.
It just gets weirder from here. So there is a Hall, in a very ritzy area farther south from the "beaches congregation" but this is another beaches congregation, but in an even wealthier area, there is a Golfer selling his house in this area for 6 million dollars. When I say area, I mean, area. I looked this property up when I first came here and it was still listed as a Kingdom hall of JW's but, a bunch of them got moved to my Hall! And I have been to this Hall, not inside we drove by it, and it's in "the area". But this all happened right before Covid, so maybe they haven't sold the property yet...who knows!
It's funny though the things that your mind opens up, when you have new insight! It's like your mind book marks certain things when you thought, "what the hell is this?" But you had no answer, so let it go...until!!!!!
