Music With a Message (Positive please)

The lyrics of this song speaks for me as a PIMO jw.
Beautiful and well done. But I do feel a bit differently myself because I am still angry about what they have done to people are just misled (not to mention children) and I guess some need to fade but some need to speak up too. Viva la difference!

I've been there Susan, I tell you that. But I keep in mind too that Jehovah allows it to happen and He definitely will act at the right time. And His Word says "man's anger doesn't result in God's righteousness" and Jehovah himself says "Vengeance is mine."
Wish you well!

It depends really upon how one views the phrase: “Jehovah allows it to happen”. First there would be a reason that Jehovah allows it to happen and that requires understanding of the outcome. Jehovah can do no evil and we know that guilt by association can be a factor. So why does this not apply then in “allowing” things to happen? There is a critical understanding to be had in “allowing” something to occur and “condoning” through tacit agreement with an outcome through not objecting.

This is a critical issue that affects guilt by association. Do we have that right to “allow” something to happen and not respond? Jehovah clearly does, but does that allow us the same right of dignity? Since when? If it does, are we assuming things beyond our remit, or should we actively show our opposition?

If we should not show our opposition, then why are we required to “get out of her if we do not wish to share in her downfall”?

Is being a PIMO a legitimate response according to the bible? Surely being mentally out is a term that refers to ignoring what is plainly obvious but staying for a personal reason. How can this conflict be resolved in conscience? Is then, that reasoning legitimate by the same biblical standard and if so, what is the scriptural thinking behind it that legitimises the action according to Jehovah?

Conscience is important. Scriptural patterns help us mold our conscience. Some examples speak louder than others. ChefBee has stated that she believes that it was Jehovah who placed his name on the ORG. I really cannot say for sure but I do realize he allowed his name to be used by them. I think that if Jehovah placed his divine name on any particular group, then he would reveal that clearly as he has clearly claimed to institute the Mosaic Law or the line of Kings. The last specific claim that I find in the scriptures of who has Jehovah’s backing is the anointed ones and we don’t know who they are. We can guess at it, but even then, the final outcome can always change. I will wait for confirmation via the revealing of the Chosen Ones. The test of faith is still future. Until then, I will speak as loudly as I can when I see frauds or liars.

1 Peter 2:19

For it is agreeable when someone endures hardship and suffers unjustly because of conscience toward God.

Hebrews 13:18

Keep praying for us, for we trust we have an honest conscience, as we wish to conduct ourselves honestly in all things.

Acts 24:16

Because of this I always strive to maintain a clear conscience before God and men.

Romans 2:15

They are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them, and by their own thoughts they are being accused or even excused.

Barnaby the dog, I see your concern boils down to this: once you see corruption, integrity demands immediate exit.

The Bible doesn’t actually support that idea. In fact, it warns against acting ahead of God’s timing just as much as acting too late.

A clear example is Jesus and the temple.

Jesus knew the religious system was corrupt. He publicly condemned the leaders. Yet he continued to teach and worship at the temple until the moment judgment was set in motion.

Matt 23:2-3 — The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the seat of Moses. Therefore all the things they tell you, do and observe; but do not do according to their deeds.

If leaving early was the mark of integrity, Jesus would have done so. He didn’t.

Another example is first-century Christians in Jerusalem.

They knew judgment was coming, but they were told not to flee immediately. They were told to wait for a specific sign. Leaving early would not have been obedience — it would have been presumption.

Luke 21:20-21 — When you see Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that her desolation has drawn near. Then let those in Judea begin fleeing to the mountains.

Acting before that sign would have meant abandoning God’s timing and substituting personal conscience for divine instruction.

That’s the key issue: integrity is not proved by speed.

Jumping the gun can be just as wrong as dragging your feet. Scripture consistently shows that God allows corruption for a time in order to expose it fully, complete a witness, and separate people at the right moment — not when individuals decide the time feels right.

Eccl 3:1 — For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.

Revelation follows the same pattern. “Get out of her” is not a standing order for anyone who becomes aware of problems; it’s a command tied to imminent judgment.

Rev 18:4 — Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share in her sins and receive part of her plagues.

Staying while awake is not hypocrisy. Staying while endorsing is. Leaving early doesn’t guarantee integrity — it can just mean acting ahead of God instead of with Him.

The Bible does not equate awareness with immediate exit. Jesus remained in a corrupt religious system until judgment was due, and Christians in Jerusalem were told to wait for a specific sign before fleeing (Matt 23:2-3; Luke 21:20-21). Acting ahead of God’s timing is not integrity; it’s presumption. Scripture shows that obedience is about discernment and timing, not proving righteousness by leaving first.

Here's another music from me.💙
Have a good day everyone!🙂

Show me the scripture on not leaving early. There is a glaring error in your reasoning. I think you should follow your conscience but you’ve publicly made statements that I don’t believe are backed up scripturally. The most important issue being that according to my conscience it would be presumptuous to assume that Jehovah endorsed the ORG or that he was the one to put his name on the ORG when he has never said that. The nation of Israel did have explicit approval and a covenant. Who has the “covenant” today? Some clearly do but can you name them? Has Jesus already come? Has Jesus sealed his Chosen Ones? I hope to see that day but it has not happened yet.

(My personal experience as a PIMO led me to create this song's lyrics.)

I was just a child with a book on my knees,
Bright colors of paradise dancing in front of me.
They said “One day you’ll live there, if you obey every word,”
And I believed it all, every promise that I heard.
A God with a name, a love I thought was mine,
A path already drawn, stay inside the narrow line.
But shadows grew behind the stories they told,
Things whispered soft, things whispered cold.

I tried to be the good girl they wanted me to be,
But something in my heartbeat kept pulling quietly…

Beyond their walls, I felt a longing,
Something true that kept on calling.
They said the world is dark, unsafe,
But my soul kept reaching anyway.
Beyond their walls, I saw the cracks,
Their picture-perfect lives don’t match.
And though they tried to build my fears so tall—
I found myself beyond their walls.

They spoke of Armageddon like fire in the sky,
Where “bad ones” would fall and “good ones” survive.
They wrapped it in love, but the fear was the chain,
They told me guilt was holy, and questions brought shame.
They said they’d protect me from the evil outside,
But never explained the hurt they kept inside.
Demanded time, demanded hearts, demanded all we gave,
While hiding broken pieces they refused to save.

I followed every rule, tried to silence every doubt,
But the truth kept rising up, it echoed loud…

Beyond their walls, I felt a longing,
A voice inside my chest kept calling.
They said the world is dark, unsafe,
But my spirit kept reaching anyway.
Beyond their walls, I saw the flaws,
The twisted words, the shifting laws.
And though they tried to make my questions small—
I learned to stand beyond their walls.

They said “We are your family,
Outside there's no one left for you.”
But the moment I asked “why,”
Their love suddenly withdrew.
They turned their backs like I was nothing,
Like I’d died before their eyes.
But losing them was how I learned
To finally see through their disguise.

Now I walk with my own truth, no longer terrified,
I learned what faith feels like when it’s not forced inside.
I’m a non-conformist soul, I question everything—
Freedom’s not rebellion; it’s the power truth can bring.
They tried to shape my path, but I rewrote it all,
And now I’m stronger for the times they watched me fall.
No longer frightened of the world beyond their gate—
I found myself again, and that’s the miracle I celebrate

Beyond their walls, I found my freedom,
My heart, my voice—now I can hear them.
The world they painted dark and wrong
Is where my soul grew brave and strong.
Beyond their walls, I stand here tall,
No fear in me, no guilt at all.
And though they tried to keep me small—
I learned to rise
beyond their walls.

No, that is not my point that corruption demands immediate exit. Where does one exit from watchtower and into non-corruption? Of course there is corruption - right from the beginning with Judas right in the midst. The issue is one of complicity, as I pointed out. This is supported by scriptures in the issues of relationships with those practice wrongdoing of which there are multiple examples. Corruption has been with us since Adam laid hand on the fruit.

As to continuing in the temple, one has to take into account that the temple was a public space. It was not owned, but operated by the clergy of the time. Any one person within the law could stand up and say his piece. The watchtower is not this way and so your analogy is flawed in that respect. One is forced to not only agree upon, but support the actions of the governing body, thus complicity is involved to those who wish to remain. One even is forced to swear allegiance to the governing body on baptism. That this is fact, is made clear in the bible because at one point one is forced to leave watchtower. One has to remember that the temple belonged to Jehovah and as Christ is His son, of course, Jesus had the ultimate in rights to teach the truth there. Jesus’ integrity was not an issue. Personally, I do not see how one can compare the kingdom hall to the temple. Clearly the governing body do not, as they happily steal them from the brethren and sell them for enormous profit. They even renounce their dedication of the hall to Jehovah.

This is a judgement personal to each individual, and it depends upon their depth of understanding of the scripture, not the scripture, again, depending upon their depth of conscience and application of said understanding. That is beyond our judgement. At what point does one respond to the apostasy? When they understand it, seems a logical conclusion. We see it and leave, others see it but stay, or fade. The bible does not harmonise with “fading” - it does not preach it as a legitimate process and therefore it cannot be justified as a righteous course of response. Thus fading in itself, suggests agreement to tolerate the situation as it is seen, along with the various abuses levied or allowed upon the congregation. Where exactly does one fade away to? Why outwardly show complicity but inwardly disagree? How does one deal with that? Why is it even scriptural to fade? Here is a conundrum of the process: Jesus to the man by the pool of Salome. “Do you want to walk?” “ Hummmmmmm. I’ll think about it and see how it goes. Get back to me in a few months. I’ll see if I want to walk or not. I may or may not have faith in your words by then”.

Contrary to your statement that the Bible does not support the idea of responding to one’s conscience, I believe that there is every reason to believe that it does. The conscience is not open to translation by another in comparing Bible scripture and is intrinsically judged on a one to one basis by Jehovah. Jesus did not remain in a corrupt religious system. He was never a part of it. His baptism was to the truth. To service to Jehovah.

Conscience is important. Scriptural patterns help us mold our conscience. Some examples speak louder than others. I can only agree with you. To me it is much the same. As I have made note of before I can see Jehovah’s hand in watchtower but not ownership. That may be due to my lack of insight into scripture but as a man, I cannot reconcile what I know of Jehovah, creation, prophesy and the character of man and of the sciences, to any part of the watchtower. But I can reconcile what I do see of watchtower as a tool of Jehovah in the composite expression of His Godship, come the day. I honestly think I must be arrogant in the matter at times because I cannot fit the two together in ownership, as a necessary part of the prophesy of destruction. The abuse of the Name alone is enough, considering that the kingdom is going to be made evident come the day. I think it far more likely that the watchtower itself is responsible for the delusion in part or fully, because they have indoctrinated the entire society to the point that it must be so that “Jehovah is with them” and that the brethren thus try to ingest that - fitting a square peg into a round hole.

For me, I cannot reconcile the purity and sanctity of Spirit and Law with what the watchtower are doing, though certainly, I can see them brought to book for misuse and misrepresentation of Name.

The fact is, the finer our conscience, the greater the conundrum of spiritual hygiene. We are requested to consider, well ahead of time in the scripture, that our loved ones may not choose to serve Jehovah and will lose their place. If our nearest and dearest have to make that choice, then is that not a signal into how refined our conscience must be if we are to see the greater love for the Spirit in these values? Jehovah does not change and His motives are set in stone. How can one justify then any other course of action in attaining this level of appreciation for these spiritual attributes? It just does not make sense to me. Even then, Jehovah has promised us that everyone will be made aware of the choice to serve Jehovah or not. Then what point in fading, or denying our conscience?

I am clearly puzzled at this quote from ChefBee because it turns the warning for Christians to flee on its head. It was NOT the intent for this scripture to warn against leaving too early and they were NOT told to wait for a sign. In fact, the warning is to those in Judea and Jerusalem to flee immediately on catching sight. This is Jesus’ response to their question of what to look for and not a warning about leaving too early. Just the word “fleeing” involves a rushed and hurried attitude. There is no warning about leaving early, which is why the warning is only to those in the danger zone and definitely speed of departure is impressed on the reader. The others outside of the danger zone did not need to flee and the only direction they received was to NOT enter Jerusalem. But each one can read the scriptures and use their own conscience. I think the scriptures speak on their own.

Luke 21:20-24: “However, when you see Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that the desolating of her has drawn near. Then let those in Ju·deʹa begin fleeing to the mountains, let those in the midst of her leave, and let those in the countryside not enter into her, because these are days for meting out justice in order that all the things written may be fulfilled. Woe to the pregnant women and those nursing a baby in those days! For there will be great distress on the land and wrath against this people. And they will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the nations until the appointed times of the nations are fulfilled.”

Matthew 24:15-18: “Therefore, when you catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, as spoken about by Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place (let the reader use discernment), then let those in Ju·deʹa begin fleeing to the mountains. Let the man on the housetop not come down to take the goods out of his house, and let the man in the field not return to pick up his outer garment.

I had not thought of your scriptural approach before, thank you for bringing it to my attention. This is precisely what I mean by “understanding”, in putting into context, the word of Jehovah so that it gains both meaning and application. By the time I left watchtower I was so fed to the teeth with repetition of rhetoric about action and nothing of meaning and depth that I could have written all I knew about watchtower teaching on the back of a postage stamp.

It’s not surprising that those leaving watchtower carry with them the rationale for leaving and are reluctant to let go of the very chains that tied them to it. I had a dreadful few years…..like being jailed for something you didn’t do and having to bear the shame in silence. Think how difficult it is for those knowing that watchtower is an adulterer but not knowing where faith can be found. That was what it was like for me and so I’m happy to try and explain what I have learnt from watchman. It has made Jehovah a reality now, not something in the future. A great deal though is through prayer and prayer for understanding because depth does not come from mankind, but from Jehovah, but one first has to listen to truth in the perspective that the Bible relates.

I have to admit that I can understand fading - the family issues, the lifetime of repetition, the rhetoric and the reasoning and the contextual intrusion of the “lie”. It Stockholm syndrome - but the theory has been around longer than that, certainly prior to 1940. I would not recommend my introduction into leaving watchtower in less than 12 hours!! Integrity is proven by speed. It’s a pertinent point of law in the Court of Law, and as explained in the heart response with the brain and the release of various chemicals such as adrenaline can make a world of difference in making the right decision. That is the very point of it. Training the conscience, being prepared beforehand, making up the mind beforehand, expectation in responses, having your oil safely stored. Speed in correction is a sign of understanding. Already having made one’s mind up.

"Many will cleanse themselves and whiten themselves and will be refined. And the wicked ones will certainly act wickedly, and no wicked ones at all will understand; but the ones having insight will understand." - Daniel 12:10

Susan, Barnaby, you’re treating the presence of corruption as if it is the prophetic signal, but Jesus never said “flee when you see hypocrisy.” He tied flight to a specific future event – “the disgusting thing standing where it ought not”, and then said then those in Judea should begin fleeing (Mt 24:15-16). What we’re seeing now fits the foretold apostasy and activity of the man of lawlessness (2 Th 2:3), the period when weeds grow right in among the wheat, not the moment of harvest. When you turn those preliminary conditions into the trigger, you’re collapsing Christ’s sequence and acting as if step one is step three. From a biblical standpoint, that isn’t discernment, it’s running ahead of the One who set the timetable.

You warn about complicity, but Jesus explicitly warned us against doing what you are now advocating, trying to rip out the weeds early and, in the process, uprooting wheat along with them (Mt 13:29-30). Leaving at this stage, and urging others to do the same, can be tantamount to doing exactly that: tearing plants out of the field before the Master has given the order. You say your conscience compels you, but conscience doesn’t outrank Christ’s clear commands to “let both grow together until the harvest” and to “endure to the end” (Mt 24:13). If we really trust Jehovah and Jesus, then love for them should show most, not in being first out the door, but in staying at our post until they give the signal, even when everything in us is tired of waiting.

In the end, it all comes down to personal choice and decision wether to stay or leave, to leave right away or wait on Jehovah's time...
As already quoted above and mentioned also in my song "Keep On The Watch", Jesus advised "when you catch sight of the disgusting thing standing in the holy place, begin fleeing to the mountains"...just as in Revelation it says during the time of God's executing judgement upon Babylon the Great, we are commanded "get out of her my people...!" It's vital to keep in mind, Jehovah's day is coming exactly as a thief in the night... whenever it is they are saying Peace and Security.." Thus we are told "not to be quickly shaken from our reason...as if the day of Jehovah is here...for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness gets revealed." -Thess.2:3

We must remember too as Ezekiel said, that God's judgement is to start from His own house.. the same as 1Peter 4:17 which says "for it is the appointed time for the judgement to start with the house of God..."
Revelation 2-3 portrays Jesus as the head of the congregations, actively observing and guiding them... having awareness of what is happening in each congregation.

Ephesians 4:16-19 says if anyone"suffers as a Christian, let him not feel shame, but let him keep on glorifying God in this name... Let those who are suffering in harmony with the will of God keep on commending their souls to a faithful Creator while they are doing good."

"And let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works, not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together... encouraging one another, and all the more so as you behold the day drawing near."
"For we know him that said: Vengeance is mine; I will recompense"; and again: "Jehovah will judge his people.""

"Do not, therefore, throw away your freeness of speech... For you have need of endurance, in order that, after you have done the will of God, you may receive the fulfillment of the promise."
- Hebrews 10:24,25 & 30,35 & 36

Deuteronomy 13:1-3 shows that God permits false prophets and their signs, not to endorse them, but to reveal whether people will remain faithful to Him or be led astray by them. "because Jehovah your God is testing you to know whether you are loving Jehovah your God with all your heart and all your soul." (Deu.13:3)

- The apostasy the Apostle Paul mentioned is a large-scale departure from apostolic Christianity arising from within the congregation, and the man of lawlessness represents a self-exalting authority inside God’s professed people that replaces Christ’s headship—allowed for a time, but ultimately exposed and removed by Jesus himself.
- 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
Jehovah has allowed it to happen and it serves His purpose as he test who will remain faithful to Him through Christ. And as Jesus himself said: "Let them grow together until the harvest".
"But he that endured to the end is the one that will be saved."
Jesus promised "I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things"...as he told "Go therefore and make disciples..."teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.". -Matthew 13:24-30; 24:13

PIMO. Physically in Mentally Out. Thus your comment above is somewhat contradictory because you have already left by your own admission, but maintain a meaningless physical presence. Silent, inert and non-contributory to the actual truth of the matter in your conscience and what you feel to be the truth. Neither one thing or the other. Luke warm as the Bible says.

However, I must apologise as I had no idea that you had written about it in song as you point out to me in your above argument, and so this must undoubtably correct the above anomaly of thinking. I must admit that I was totally unaware that writing about a personal feeling in song makes it a fact for others to be convinced by. I therefor submit your greater reasoning on the subject.

I see your mind Barnaby. Now I know...
FYI, I haven't left physically... I've seen what's beyond their walls in a sense by crossing beyond their restrictions of simply depending on them for "truths" and not studying and making in-depth research outside their "tools".
I supposed you've understood what PIMO means... But obviously I have to speak to you in more precise, more simple terms for you to comprehend what I'm saying.

Anyways...talk next time, "lukewarm me" is going to the mid-week meeting! 😊

Well, respectfully ChefBee, it sounds to me like you are speaking out of both sides of your mouth. One the one hand you say that it is a conscience matter and then on the other hand you say that somehow I am pulling weeds. Trust me there is no weed pulling on my part. I couldn’t remove anything and that is ridiculous and makes clear that you don’t even follow your own advice, aka hypocrisy. As I have said before, you follow your conscience and my conscience tells me that it would be cowardly to stay silent and appear to be something I am not and I am confident in saying that. The way you twist scriptures to make your argument correct is a real signal to me that I just don’t want to read your comments. And, with all of the push back I have gotten from you and those like you, I think I’m right over the target. Perhaps I have seen the disgusting thing and by your own admission, you have not. You don’t get to tell me what I see and what I don’t see. And, I will add that no one gets to label their own conduct or lack of action as “wisdom”. In the words of GB member Jackson, that would be presumptuous.

Psalm 26:4

I do not associate with deceitful men, And I avoid those who hide what they are.

Revelation 3:14-16: “To the angel of the congregation in La·o·di·ceʹa write: These are the things that the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God: ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or else hot. So because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth.

Go where ever you feel comfortable. No one is trying to stop you from doing anything you want to do. Again, very puzzling to me that you would come on the forum and declare that you are PIMO and then try to teach all the other forum members who have distanced themselves that they are wrong and they need to go back to the ORG. Wow, if someone was sent by the ORG to try to lure people back into the wayward congregations, perhaps that is exactly what they would do. I think they’re pretty good too at music videos. Interesting. But time for the “ignore” button.
