Very groovy man.
- "Spirit in the Sky" (Norman Greenbaum): Focuses on the afterlife/judgment.
Seen him live in concert at Norfolk Va in 1982, it was a blast!Back to music. One of my favorite all-time songs that I think encapsulates what life was like when I was a young adult is Billy Joel’s Piano man. I especially liked his reference to the real estate “novelist”. So many times you meet people who are engaged in work that is paying the bills but not what they really want to be doing and I think this song pictures that very well.
This reminds me of a neighbour of mine back in the days long, long ago, when her husband walked out on her. She played this full volume all day.
Always loved this one.
A flute might be nice, a few violins, one or two trumpets, add a few cello, oboes, clarinets, a touch of Mozart, Beethoven - that sort of stuff. Not to say it’s not wonderful that he can make that sort of sound with his voice but most men would if part of their anatomy was shut in a vice!!
Excellent song.
Those guys are so underrated.Excellent song.
