So I ran across this just a little while ago, and I just started reading the "Introduction" and decided immediately this should be posted here. It sounds a lot like what Robert has been doing. Here's the first paragraph....
INTRODUCTION
This book is not an attack on Jehovah’s Witnesses. On the contrary! My
beloved religion is the religion of Jehovah’s Witnesses. And I have invested
my whole soul in this religion for 60 years. However, the book represents
a strong correction of those who have been members of the Governing
Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the 21st century.

He's a professor in Norway: from his about page- Rolf J. Furuli has been lecturer in Semitic languages, and for more than a decade he has taught courses in Akkadian, Aramaic, Ethiopic, Hebrew, Phoenician, Syriac, and Ugaritic.

I would only add that it has now been almost four years and Ph.D. Furuli has still not responded to my email

Thanks for posting this, I didn't know you knew about him. I just started reading your post above, and will finished it shortly. It's pretty hypocritical to decry the GB for not responding yet he does the same thing to you.

In 2006 I started to search for answers .I read Franz and Marley Coles works, which happened to be where our Bible study was, my mother was very close to the Coles up until they moved away. I also had many conversations with Franz up until he told me everyone was going to heaven.. I often wandered how a man who contributed so much light to WT ignorance flipped the script. just baffled me at his deluded perspective later on.. I then happened upon a book called "The Report' which I still have which, encompasses a great deal and similarities to Robert's work that came out a few years prior to Robert's Book... if I recall there was a bit of tug a war between the two over who wrote what first back in the day. I never could understood how someone could accuse another of plagiarism when everyone was getting simular ideas from the Bible. Sounds like a waste if time to me, I don't need brownie buttons or an approval patch to sew on my shirt to glean some form of self importance. However, after a clearing away the clutter, I took Robert's side. As for Furuli. I've read his works and several others which amounted to trivial filler for cohesion that adds up to a nothing burger.. Not to give praise but, Robert's view on matters are more sound..I'm certain Furuli didnt reply to Robert's letter was because he doesn't have any powder to challenge his interpretation.. All i know is, I'm always on the hunt and will continue to peal back the layers until christ shines the light on what he wants us to know..

Very nice reply. I really take to heart so much of what you said here. It seems to me, that so many people when they realize WT has been lying to them, go off the deep end, in one way or another. With all of my faults I believe Jehovah sent me here, I'm just not exactly sure why, other than I am a stubborn advocate for the truth, regardless where that takes me. I am thankful that I have some answers now that satisfy me. So many unanswered question being a WT disciple.

Wow. This is cool. I haven't read everything yet, but this is a find. Guess I know what I'll be doing the rest of the night. Or, morning... whatever.

Yeah. I think it is funny. Furuli decries the fact that the GB never responded to his letters and yet he did not have the courtesy to acknowledge an email I sent him with a link to my response to his book.
Maybe you could publish your response. I'd love to know your thoughts on this.

Something about this writing style seems familiar. This may sound weird, but I think I might know this guy. Way back in the day, there was this guy who posted on BeliefNet. It was a forum I used to post on. There was a Jehovah Witness board there. This was before my atheist phase. It dated back to like 2005ish. Sometime between 2005 and 2008, which was about when I fell away. Anyway, there was this guy there. He was super smart. Even back then, I knew he was different because he wasn't afraid to speak his mind. I remember asking about college, and everyone was discouraging me. He was the only one who pushed back on that. Additionally, he knew biblical Greek and Hebrew. He went by the name Apologist. It would be so weird if this is him. I think he wasn't from the US, either.

Didn’t you already mention this gent here at the time? I have a vague recollection from your other site. I think then the topic was about Franz and this chap came up then.

⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️

Taken from Rev. Ch. 10 pg. 51 par. 13. ⬇️

“As Jehovah’s Messenger and Judge, the Son of God acts rightly in identifying the modern Jezebel and throwing her into a sickbed, for her spiritual sickness is indeed a chronic one. (Malachi 3:1, 5) Those who have succumbed to this wrongful female influence will also suffer great tribulation—the sorrow of being disfellowshipped, cut off from the Christian congregation AS THOUGH DEAD.”

🔷They not only CUT YOU OFF FOR BEING DISFELLOWSHIPPED, as if you’re DEAD, but if you even SPEAK OUT OR QUESTION THE WATCHTOWER they treat you as if you’re DEAD.

But the reality is that it’s like they’re the ones that are DEAD because they’ve cut you off, chose to die…a sacrifice to their idol, jw dot org.

W81 9/15 pg. 31 par. 26 ⬇️

“Should he die WHILE DISFELLOWSHIPPED arrangements for his funeral MAY BE A PROBLEM. His Christian relatives may like to have had a talk at the Kingdom Hall, if that is the local custom. But that would not be fitting for a person expelled from the congregation. If he had been giving evidence of repentance and wanting God’s forgiveness, such as by ceasing to practice sin and by attending Christian meetings, some brother’s conscience might allow him to give a Bible talk at the funeral home or grave site. Such Biblical comments about the condition of the dead provide a witness to unbelievers or comfort to the relatives.”

“However, if the disfellowshiped person had still been advocating false teachings or ungodly conduct, even such a talk would not be appropriate.“

🔷”False teachings” as in FALSE about the Watchtower organization, not God.

🔷 How cold and unloving this cult is. What happened to the scripture they use that says at Romans 6:7
“For the one who has died has been acquitted from his sin.”

A very grave situation indeed. I was hoping to have a down to earth talk at my funeral but I suppose that’s a dead-end hope now. The speaker would have to dig deep to come up with any hope of a resurrection in undertaking his talk, especially as they advocate a head stone-ing as punishment.
