Nehemiah

A while back, I think last year's convention, maybe the year before, time's moving so fast, anyway there was a drama about Nehemiah. One of the elders called me and told me to get on JW.org and watch it. That seemed like a strange thing for him to do, or anyone for that matter. So I kinda took it as a prompt from Jehovah, that maybe there was something there he wanted me to understand. At that time my internet was less than good. I couldn't get the video to play so figured I'd listen to the audio. I couldn't figure out what was happening that way so I decided to get my Bible and read it. I read it and read it again and nothing was jumping out at me. So I prayed about it and later that day I went through it and high lighted the main events, then wrote down all those high lighted items. I still wasn't seeing anything other than the obvious zealousness of Nehemiah. I prayed again about it before bed. The next morning I had an epiphany. I wasn't even thinking about it yet as I had only been awake a few minutes. These two words came out of my mouth without any thought. I went straight to the paper I had written the main events on and read over it and it was so plain at that point. Since then I have tried to find confirmation and haven't found it. Maybe I just haven't looked in the right place🤷‍♀️. IDK. So my question is: Is Nehemiah a "type" of Jesus?

IMHO Nehemiah would be someone to keep the friends in line after Armageddon when the dust has settled. The Great Crowd might be a bit antsy after all that has happened. Also, it might be necessary to have those like Nehemiah to snap the friends into reason in order to see who the chosen are as well as taking a stance for the truth during the Great Tribulation. When it all comes down, people like Nehemiah will be needed to fend off the false prophets & false Christs from swooping in on the flock.

The remarkable thing about Nehemiah is that everything he did was through faith. Jehovah did not speak to him saying, rebuild the walls and the great city. Nehemiah desired to restore the city because he came to understand how it had fallen.

I see Nehemiah like the original bible students before the watchtower. They started the work of rebuilding the city, but they were not able to continue. Then the priests started to defile the place right after Nehemiah left.

Then I came to Jerusalem and noticed the terrible thing that E·liʹa·shib had done in behalf of To·biʹah, making a storeroom available for him in the courtyard of the house of the true God. 13:7

I also found out that the portions of the Levites+ had not been given them,+ so that the Levites and the singers who did the work had gone off, each to his own field. 13:10

The pure in heart want to build the city to the glory of Jehovah. Yet the man of lawlessness keeps tearing it down. May the will of Jehovah be done and remove the lawlessness.

He did give up a good job, good living as cup-bearer and use his resources to organise a center for worship. C.T Russell did the same?

I was thinking about the cushy spot Jesus had with his father that he gave up to come down here and save our sorry souls.
Yes! I think of it too: I think, 'well did Jesus do it just out of dutiful respect?' No amazingly Proverbs 8:30,31 While beside the Father as a Master worker. He rejoiced over the creation but was especially fond of the sons/daughters of men.

The one thing I noticed was how all the Jews including Nehemiah were all wearing hand guns, I mean swords, in their belts. And how all the JW's had to wear fake beards in every drama, because we all know Jehovah's male servants wore beards back then, but now you're "worldly" if you have a beard!

Yeah makes total sense!

Was it not Peter who picked up a Magnum and said to the Roman soldier, “Well Punk, are you feeling Lucky? Go ahead, make my day!” and promptly shot off the soldiers ear? To which Jesus admonished him in that Peter did not have a license to “open carry” or have a beard and thus Peter became greatly upset and went off and shot a poor rooster just as it was about to crow three times and snatched an ice cream out of a child’s hand in spite. I think I read that in the revised Bible Stories book that watchtower updated recently. I think they are going to make it into a film in the Australian outback.

Sorry I probably should elaborate more as to what I see as well. But the word were "it's Jesus" (meaning Nehemiah is). I'll have to find the notebook that I wrote things down in later and post the points where I see the resemblance.☺️
Thanks. It was like missing the punch line of a joke! Makes sense now.

Ok so this is pretty long but here goes.
*Neh.1:11..."Now I was cupbearer too the king"
Cupbearers were regarded as thoroughly trustworthy. Sort of a right hand man.
John 1:1 "...the Word was with God..."
John 17:5 "... glorify me at your side with the glory that I had alongside you before the world was."
*Neh. 2:6 "....so it pleased the king to send me.."
There are many scriptures that tell us Jesus was sent by Jehovah : Matt. 15:24, Luke 4:43, John 7:28. Just a few.
*Neh. 2:19-20 "Now when Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official, and Geshem the Arabian heard of it, they began to mock us and show us their contempt and say: "What are you doing? Are you rebelling against the king?" However I replied:" The God of the heavens is the one who will grant us success, and we his servants will get up and build; but you have neither share nor claim nor memorial in Jerusalem ."
First, I'm comparing Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem to the pharisees, Sadducees, and the scribes.
Second, Jesus predicted that he would be mocked, in Luke 18:32"... he will be handed over to men of the nations and will be mocked and treated insolently and spat on."
Mocking-- to make fun of in a cruel or derisive way
Derisive ---expressing contempt or ridicule
Contempt---the feeling that a person or thing is beneath consideration, worthless, or deserving of scorn.
Insolent--- showing a rude and arrogant lack of respect
So even the words could be interchangeable.
Jesus didn't just predict this, it happened to him: immediately after his trial Mark 14:65, after Pilate condemned him Mark 15:17, and during his time on the torture stake Mark 15:29-30
Then the part where Nehemiah tells them they have no share, reminded me of when Jesus told the Pharisees that they were from their father the devil..... Not from God in John 8:44-47.
Gotta pause here, I'll finish up later.

Part 2---
*Neh. 4:8 "They conspired together to come and fight against Jerusalem and to create a disturbance in it ."
They (Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabians, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites)= scribes, Pharisees, and Sadducees. They tried in many ways to disrupt what Jesus was doing, fighting against the Kingdom.
*Neh. 6:5-7 " Then Sanballat sent his attendant to me with the same message a fifth time, with an open letter in his hand. There it was written: "Among the nations it has been heard, and Geshem is also saying it, that you and the Jews are scheming to rebel. That is why you are building the wall; and according to these reports you are to become their king. Also, you have appointed prophets to proclaim about you throughout Jerusalem. 'There is a king in Judah!' And now these things will be told to the king...
Luke 5:21 "The scribes and the Pharisees started to reason, saying: "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins except God alone?"
(Rebelling against the king )
John 6:15 "Then Jesus, knowing that they were about to come and seize him to make him king, withdrew..."
Luke 23:3 " Now Pilate asked him the question "Are you the king of the Jews?" In answer he said: "You yourself are saying it."
Luke 9: 1-2 ".... and he sent them (the twelve) out to preach the kingdom of God and to....". and verse 7 " Now Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was going on..."
(Prophets sent out)
*Neh.6:10 at the end. "They are coming to kill you by night"
Sanballat and Tobiah were conspiring to kill Nehemiah just as the pharisees were with Jesus. And it was dark when they came to arrest him. Matt.12:14
*Neh 5:17 "There were 150 Jews and deputy rulers at my table, as well as those who came to us from the nations..."
Nehemiah fed a multitude from his own provisions. Twice Jesus fed the masses that came to hear him. Matt 14:13-21 and 15:32-39.
Then at some point after the wall was finished and Nehemiah had appointed gate keepers, singers, Levites, etc, he left and went back to the king. He was gone for an undisclosed amount of time.
*Neh.13:6 "And during all this time I was not in Jerusalem for I went to the king in the 32nd year of King Artaxerxes of Babylon, and sometime later I asked the king for a leave of absence."
Jesus ascended to the right hand of the father and sometime later he will return.
What he will do when he returns remains to be seen.
Nehemiah did some reprimanding, cursing, striking, pulling out of hair, and driving away . For the details read chapter 13:7-31. It seems to me that Nehemiah went a bit easy on the Jews of his day but I'll wait on our king to determine what to do with those of our day. I hope he goes easy on us.

What do you guys think? Am I, umm, crazy?

Speaking of that...I found this historical account that explains exactly what really happened during Jesus time on earth:
