Hello, I wanted to share with you a letter that began to circulate in several Spanish-speaking congregations.
Please do not ask me who the author is because he is anonymous.
But thanks to a kind sister that we all know and her excellent work, you will be able to read this in English.
I believe the letter contains very interesting ideas that can help the brothers not to be deceived again as happened in the covid-19 pandemic.
As I understand it, it is being translated into other languages.
I hope it helps some to "wake up."

As someone who has written many open letters to the Watchtower, I believe that brief is better. It is a lot to ask someone to read a 250-page "letter."
It's true that people don't want to read and even the organization encourages this.
I remember years ago that I couldn't keep up with everything that the JW site published.
Now weeks go by without publishing anything and they continually post videos.
Unfortunately, some topics, if not covered in depth, are discarded with poor mental excuses.
Thank goodness it's a letter. Can you imagine how many pages it would have if it were a book? LOL

Condensing is an art ;)

I don’t have space to download it all! I hope they do read it though. I think the point to keep in mind is that the watchtower know full well what they are doing. For example, Lett and his tirade about child abuse being an “outright lie”, and Splane with his “extended generations”, not to mention of course, the unbelievable outrageous arrogance of that cheeky young upstart who’s name I forget now, who said “We have no need to apologise’ (for Jehovahs manner of teaching). Are they going to wade through such a long denunciation? No. The letter should be passed to the brethren who like others here are questioning within their hearts the deplorable contradictions arising from the governance of the gb. I hope it reaches them where it will do most good.

I understand as someone very busy. However, I have read it and there is value in really reinforcing some very recognizable scriptural principles that are reinforced through repetition, which is a method of teaching. After all, most brothers and sisters are only accustomed to “milk” and they still need weaning.

I am sure there is something of value. My point is, the messenger should be more concise if they wish to reach JWs with a valuable message. Jesus spoke in very few words. His message was powerful in its economy of words.

Can't be bothered reading it at the minute. parked in bookmarks, might look thru it later.

I agree and wish I could do better as well. Practice makes perfect or at least makes improvement.

A good statement to get out there. I don't think they would read it though. An easy fix is to send that document to Chat GPT and give the command to condense that document into a single page and see if that works.
However, we shouldn’t think that Jehovah cannot take something simple and weak from a human standpoint and use it for his will and purpose. As we continue to see brothers and sisters get sick and die prematurely, and I know it is still happening, some will be searching for help in understanding what has occurred. We never know if some scriptural point will be something they will latch onto. And, I think it could pave the way for them to be interested in Robert King’s book, Jehovah Has Become King, which would be a progression to spiritual maturity. Some brothers and sisters will discount Robert King’s book because he is DF’d but the brother who wrote the Open Letter is still in good standing in the congregations and it is an appeal for them to consider well known scriptural principles that they will approve of. Although they probably don’t see the need for the Governing Body to repent or do they? Are they afraid to even consider it? Who knows? Sometimes when they hear that 1914 is a fraud, they immediately shut down and its the end of the conversation. But I still try to see some small opening at appropriate times.

I’d love to hear @MickHewitt and @Jerry&Phyllis give us their viewpoint on the Open Letter.
You know my approach is and has always been concise; anything that size puts me off. Yet I agree with your sentiments as you commented on it hoping that a part of it might get through. Robert's view was right, life is short and even shorter for the gb so are they going to put down their glass of Scotch to consider anything other than their own holier than thou attitude? J&P's review will be better.

I am the same..

I will tell you what I think about this matter.
The letter is about the sins committed by the Governing Body during the pandemic.
It is a public letter because it is not only for the Governing Body.
If this letter were only for the Governing Body it would be private.
Public letters seek to involve the audience and rebuke in front of others some wrongdoing.
This is not done only with the hope that the person rebuked will change, since many times that will never happen.
It is done to highlight the error and the lie in the eyes of everyone.
If we take into account that the majority of the brothers consider that the Governing Body is infallible and many have idolized it for decades, it does not seem likely that a few sentences on a couple of pages will convince them otherwise.

To try to awaken someone who is deceived to the level that many of our brothers are, it is necessary to address the issue in depth and with irrefutable arguments from different angles so that the matter is completely clear.

That cannot be done in a few pages and that is the reason for the length of the letter.

Of course, everything in life requires effort.
The brother who makes an effort and reads it completely can be rewarded with the correct understanding of what happened in the pandemic and his vision of the Governing Body will invariably change.

Understanding that the Governing Body should be expelled from the organization for their lack of repentance following the criteria of the same book "shepherd" for having been negligent and having caused the death of many brothers can be the awakening for some.

But as I have said, to prove this, it is necessary to analyze with evidence what they did and to make a historical review properly contextualized.

If many brothers read this letter, the evil influence that dominates them would simply disappear from their minds.

Many of us have understood that what was done during the pandemic was wrong.
But unfortunately many others have only "felt" that it was wrong but do not fully understand what happened.
They have the "pieces" but do not know where they go.
They need us to help them put the puzzle together.

This letter fulfills that objective, and as Susan mentioned, it can be an "opening" that allows light to enter their lives, which with the help of Jehovah, "will become increasingly clear until the day is firmly established."

The word of Jehovah "is alive and has the power to destroy" any reasoning that rises against the knowledge of Christ.

If we analyze with the scriptures what happened during the pandemic and this is read by brothers who have Jehovah and Christ in their hearts, nothing else is needed.

God will do the rest, we just "plant and water", he is the one who makes it grow.

Though very nicely put together, Brother Robert is correct about this "open letter essay". It would be discarded by 99% of the appointed brothers who received it, and go un-read after the first paragraph or 2.
Snippets of truth and facts, with minimal script will land better and be more effective.

Mick that is how I felt. I read about half of it and then wondered who of the GB would even venture to read it in its entirety. They would probably pass it off to a department that is supposed to read these things. Than they can get back to the football game and their Scotch. This is making me a little thirsty.🥴

I’d love to hear @MickHewitt and @Jerry&Phyllis give us their viewpoint on the Open Letter.
We have read a significant potion of the letter and have completed a cursory scan of the remainder. Our conclusion is that it is an in-depth, comprehensive, meticulously documented “letter”. If a person truly wants to gain an over-all perspective of the sequence of events that has culminated, in possibly, the most divisive maneuver in the history of Jehovah’s Witnesses, involving themselves in medical direction by advocating the dangerous mRNA covid vaccine, this is it.

Normally, we would agree that brevity is best. However, one looks at the length of the read through the eyes of their own point of view. So, what one person may judge as too long may not be in the view of someone else. More important than the overall length is the content and degree it holds one’s interest. As far as the GB reading the entire letter, probably, not a chance. But, no doubt, this letter will reach the eyes of many others that do have an intense interest in how and why the whole covid narrative played out.

For example, two years ago we would have devoured the entire 250 pages immediately. Why, because we were devastated as a result of the GB’s stance on the vaccine. So, at that point, we were consumed with finding out why and didn’t know where to turn for answers. Therefore, we were hungry for answers and agree with @Ireneo "To try to awaken someone who is deceived to the level that many of our brothers are, it is necessary to address the issue in depth and with irrefutable arguments from different angles so that the matter is completely clear. That cannot be done in a few pages and that is the reason for the length of the letter".

Now, after searching and finding answers to many of our questions here on the forum, the letter, understandably, doesn't hold the same intense interest, for us, that it would have two or three years ago.
But we venture to say, if there are any out there experiencing what we did at that point in our lives, with no place to turn for answers.....they will love it.

Thank you. Very well explained and I feel the same.
