I would really like the chicken with the crunchy batter. It’s impossible to get it here - unless it’s available “up north” where they actually fry chocolate barsNot sure where to put this, but I enjoyed it while thinking of all the British forum members. Welcome to southern style food.
You stand a much better chance of waking up with certainty if you have a pacemaker, or better still a pacemaker with built in defibrillator - though that can be a shocking experience!
Everything tastes better fried. The biscuits probably were not sweet but very buttery although some people do add a little sugar to them. Here is a recipe from a bonafide southern lady.I would really like the chicken with the crunchy batter. It’s impossible to get it here - unless it’s available “up north” where they actually fry chocolate bars. I imagine that the “gravy” is what we would call a white sauce with some additions like chicken in it? From what the children described it sounds like a sweet “bread”, but one needs to be cautious here with that term as sweetbread here also refers to fried Pancreas or thyroid gland, neither of which I would dream of eating. Could you give me a recipe for your biscuit and I’ll try and make one. I usually make my own bread, so I might be able to try this. Thanks.

I see your train and raise you this train.I was in the garden this morning being discreetly “Far out (man) and getting on down, doing my thing and “grooving” with the budding spring bulbs when I came across this little gem and instantly thought that it would make an ideal introduction for Robert’s Sunday Talks. See what you think. It would have made a good kingdom song back in the day.
Or, you're a glutton for punishment.
I have always been drawn to this Native Red Indian story of the 'Two Wolves'....A young brave tells his grandfather that there are two warring wolves with opposing characteristics in his mind trying to gain dominance over him. One wolf is gentle and loving not prone to unprecipitated anger and the other is just a wicked uncaring beast.......He asks his grandfather 'Which wolf will win?' Grandfather replies 'The one you feed.'Nice "words of wisdom"
Actually, here down south that white gravy is called “milk gravy.”I would really like the chicken with the crunchy batter.
