If you are interested as a Nerd, here is a gem for you, besides Damasio, try John Locke, An Essay Concerning Human Understanding 1689, probably the first foray into psychology. I expect you can find it in a reprint somewhere. The work is based on the premise that man is born with an empty slate of a mind (too right in some cases) rather than a template - and which is more to the point in my opinion. And if your Nerding extends sideways too (as it should) Nerd away on The London Practice of Physick. Thomas Willis. 1685 and which goes into detail on all sorts of mental aberrations including Hysteria. Again, youāll have to find a reprint. Moving into the arena of āAdvancedā Nerding (or should it be Nerdary?), there is a great deal of study from circa 1916 onwards into the first investigations of shell shock on the mind and its outcomes. That really is a fascinating study of how the brain perceives issues. The internet is cluttered with reprints. There is a deal of faith to be gained into the construct and working of flesh (the brain) that can perceive, translate and sponsor ethereal thought processes that extend even into the realms of spirituality and itās concepts of and within the Spirit. A spiritual Nerdation is revealed!
