Talk about looking down on the public.

The whole slap thing feels so staged to me too. Nobody's watching them give themselves awards anymore so they're dying for attention.

Will Smith played Mohammed Ali, but I could have landed a better punch then that!
Not to mention look at Chris Rock's reaction. He didn't look very shocked or mad.

And look at Smith before he gets up to slap him. He's smiling, lightly laughing. But he looks over at his wife who's frowning and that's all it takes?

It was staged. Like Nomex mentioned the Oscars are a wokefest of fail and they are desperate to be relevant again.

'Bread and circuses' my friend. 'All the world is a stage!'

Did anyone see the nightmare that was the grammy last night? I just turned it on for a few mixtures to watch Chris Stapleton but haven't watched it in years and then I see Zelensky spewing WAR PROPAGANDA 1984 style. Things are getting veddy creepy round these parts :oops:https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-entertainment/2022/04/03/zelensky-grammy-awards-appearance/
Hi Jess, I did not watch it but I heard it was Satanic. By the way, I love Chris Stapleton too! I have many of his songs on my playlist.

Here is a humorous parody of Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

Funny stuff! I remember seeing a doc on MJ and when he did Thriller he got in trouble with his Elders. That's why in the original video, at the start, there is a disclaimer regarding his beliefs:

"Due to my strong personal convictions, I wish to stress that this film in no way endorses a belief in the occult."

I wonder how Michael dealt with the "funk of 40,000 years"? :)

I'm undecided but Andy Kaufman did this in the 80s with Jerry Lawler. Part of me thinks this one was real though because of his relationship with that horrible woman. That's what happens when you have a relationship based on nothing but fleeting emotion. I think he wanted to prove himself to her thinking she would accept him if he defended her. But you never know with Hollywood. They make a living off lying.

I thought they made a living pretending to be someone else! (Rather like the GB who pretend they are Jehovah‘s
”channel”).

I was thinking that Will Smith was embarrassed by being with a GI Jane look alike and that was what made him angry. But I too still feel like it was staged for attention. Remember when Justin Timberlake ripped the top off of Janet Jackson at Superbowl halftime and she acted so surprised but it was all staged.

I think they all needed a good slapping. The Oscars is one of , if not the most obnoxious self-praise jamborees on earth. It must be similar to attending a GB meeting and pretending to be Jehovah’s channel of communication.
