In our recent discussion about wether to stay or leave the organization. I read many comments that said...brothers and sisters need to flea when "they will certainly put in place the disgusting thing that causes desolation" What is the disgusting thing? I always thought it had to do with the United Nations.

When Jesus referred to the disgusting thing that causes desolation it was in the context of the great tribulation coming upon the world. Jesus also referred to the prophecy of Daniel, which mentions the disgusting thing as being set up by both the kings of the north and south. I believe the WT actually got it right, at least in identifying the UN as the disgusting thing. And ironically, the UN was set up by the Anglo-American duo.

Has it fulfilled Jesus' prophecy by standing in a holy place? No. Not yet. But it is becoming clearer with each passing day that the London-centered banking cartel is intent on crashing the system in the very near future. The bailouts are over. Zero interest rates and Quantitative Easing are done. Now that everyone is addicted to easy money and laden with debt that can only be repaid with low-interest rates the central bank are all coordinating an initiative to jack up the cost of money, ostensibly to reverse the inflation they created by easy money, but I see it as the means to bankrupt America and Europe and buy everything on the cheap, including governments. They expect to stay on top of the heap of wreckage that once was civilization by imposing a new money system and world government administered by the United Nations. It looks like they are going to roll out a centralized digital currency so that they will be able to control what everyone buys or sells. Look for the Watchtower to be onboard their scheme, just like the GB jumped on the WHO's vaccine bandwagon. It is looking like something is afoot with the Watchtower ordering all the congregations to send in their funds by September, just as has been pointed out the Vatican is also doing.

I have been looking at how the west imposes sanctions on various countries , and even individuals . They make it difficult for those marked to buy and sell . Also , recently , Tony Blair has been pushing for digital currency , along with a micro chip . It will not take much , once all money goes digital for vast numbers to also have sanctions under any number of reasons . If they can try to sell the idea of Covid , pollution etc , and millions fall for it , the rest is just another step for these psychopaths .

My thoughts: Because the WHO is a UN entity and because the GB basically echoed (perhaps not exactly word-for-word but the meaning was indeed strongly and convincingly conveyed) the lies from the WHO that the "vaccines" were safe and effective, and because it has been shown that these "vaccines" have their origins in the military and are considered to be bio-weapons, I feel it is reasonable to use a certain amount of discernment and come to the conclusion (my personal conclusion, no forcing my conscience on anyone here) that, in effect, these so called vaccines and the coercion used organization wide to be taken by the vast willing brotherhood is indeed disgusting. And having these directives coming from the top of the org, the GB themselves, in complete concert and lock-step with the UN, I find these to be, although indirectly yes, but definitely related to, standing in a holy place.

Maybe your point Robert about this being a self inflicted event as opposed to the UN directly mandating the use of the "vaccines" is the proof needed to verify that the disgusting thing is not yet standing in the holy place. It is a very solid and thought provoking point, no question! I on the other hand personally think that the UN has its hands all over this "vaccine" thing, so much so as to qualify it and the coercion from the GB to be at least a part or initial stages of a disgusting thing standing where it ought not.

Certainly more time and more daily happenings can lead to stronger evidence of a disgusting thing (or an even more thoroughly disgusting thing) standing in a holy place in the future, no question about that! But I do not think we need to actually witness the UN Humvees rolling up Kings Road to determine the presence of a disgusting thing at a holy place. (that's a joke, insert laughter here)

Final thought: Maybe Driven and I have ceased going to meetings and turning in time cards a tad on the early side, or maybe not. Like almost everything else about our days, we shall just have to wait and see. We sincerely advocate for everyone to use their own conscience in this matter and I am not writing this to sway anyone in a direction they discern to not be applicable for their individual circumstances and pain thresholds.

The disgusting thing that causes desolation. It would be a faction of this LGBTQ radicals that have been given power in government positions and come after religion and institutions for not supporting the LGBTQ agenda. They are in many government agencies already and in some countries they are forcing religions to pay taxes just for not being supportive of their ideology. I don't think it's the only thing that will cause desolation but it's one part of the attack on religion. And the UN fully supports their agenda. The GB leadership needs to condemn the UN entirely to protect the sheep just like how they made condemnation with Russia. It's not about taking sides. It's just letting the sheep know who the enemies are as mentioned in Daniels prophectic dream. As the UN is literally this final beast that WILL attack JW's and others.

As regards the type, the disgusting thing showing up was in the form of the Roman armies in 66 CE and that was the signal for Christians to flee. The Tribulation came in 70 CE.

IF the UN is the anti-type of the Roman armies then they would need to show up before the GT not sure if that would be the UN itself or reps thereof? Maybe the WHO or NATO forces or both? But I suspect it will be the UN doing the trampling?

As far as the type; the time between the standing and the Trampling on Jerusalem was around 3 or 4 years. So my guess is that the modern day standing and the trampling would follow a similar time frame. Have no clue exactly how it will play out? Have to wait and see what develops?

Totally agree! - many began to feel like fleeing, when this began happening, they felt a very unwholesome atmosphere.

If we try to go against our conscience, because of someone guilting us we would destroy ourselves, spiritually. [ Romans chap. 14 ] For me, it would be wrong to direct people to the org in it's present state.

Interesting points, yet it is necessary for the common sheep to recognise the disgusting thing. They do not have such insight on that as yet, just as they had no insight on 1975. What is to one disgusting, may not be to the other (the army taught me that). I assume (because I probably know no better), that the object is primarily disgusting to Jehovah, because it is He alone that answers it. Thus it might be something closer to His heart than the relatively superficial outbursts we have at present from the watchtower.

Given that most of the watchtower affiliates accept the watchtower claim of acting in their best interests, surely if they are to need something more disgusting than that of vaccines to shift their minds, then could the disgusting thing be somewhat more definitive? After all, their lives depend on their response and of course, the majority appear not to have discernment on these matters to alert them - thus the need to terrify them.

It seems that many here, myself included, left for no other reason than that they could not reconcile their conscience with the watchtower any longer. Thus maybe the disgusting thing is likewise an issue of conscience and may be more than one issue, or act of defiance and is actually a collective of issues, a sudden exposure. When I look back all those years; the abuses that watchtower has created seems as one long snake of evil going back decades and as yet unseen - and that is enough of a disgusting thing to satisfy the hardest conscience. When it comes to revelation, I rather imagine it to be an open mouthed jaw dropping exposure that justifies the intervention.

I was thinking the softening tone about the "vaccines" happening right now would be equivalent to the Romans pulling back and then the next wave of "vaccine" mandates which appear to be poised to happen right after the U.S. mid-term elections could be the Roman armies returning, albeit obviously the literal timing does not match.

I'm trying to work out in my mind, and find how do the scriptures show which side of Christ coming into his Kingdom, does the "standing in a holy place" happen? My understanding is that the modern day "Holy Place" is linked to Christ's congregation. I'm convinced that the trampling or GT will happen after the Christ has arrived.

So if the "Standing in a holy place" happens before the Christ takes up his Kingship then it is anyone's guess as to how it will play out. Or is it? As far as Jehovah stepping in to halt proceedings I suspect that would be in relation to the GT.

The fact that Jesus told Christians to watch out for it; ( the disgusting thing standing in a holy place ) would indicate that it would be notifiable.

How do we prepare for this total economic collapse? I don't want to do anything that will compromise my faith. Will it be clear what choice to make? I don't know.

Maybe think about getting off the grid if you are able to? Live off the land grow/hunt your own food That would be one practical place to start. As far as your spirituality and faith, I suspect you and Jehovah will sort out the appropriate course in your case. Each of our circumstances are different.
