i really appreciate the thoughts in this thread
i have one question though. how do we know that the Gb is doing the things they are doing 100% of their own volition? Is it totally out of the question that they would cave to external pressure from government agencies or other entities? My family seem to think that the integrity of these leaders are beyond questioning. That they would never take a bribe to save their own butts. Somehow i dont get the same feeling though when i look at whats happening and has happened last years after i started becoming aware to this.

I am sure that you are correct in your thinking re: the GB. They have already caved in to, if not the government, then the fear of government law. They sacrificed (their) truth at the Australian inquisition into child abuse “Are you the sole channel of God on this earth?” Their reply, “That would be presumptuous….”. If there is one singular clue to their understanding of the ferocity of this worlds legal system, then this would be it. They are more afraid of public opinion than they are of the wrath of Jehovah. Why? Because this world threatens their exulted place and honour in this world, and if they do not go along with it, they will be morally exposed and institutionally bankrupted. The worldly ‘concept’ of Jehovah, to them, is simply a tool that they exploit for their own aggrandisement. They sell the innocent belief of the brethren to feather their lifestyle and justify it by calling it obedience to Caesar, or ‘unusual’ directives from them. They are storing up compound interest in retribution against themselves. The fact that the brethren cannot see this is not because watchtower crimes are not there to see, but because they are “blinded” and made “deaf” to them until Jehovah lifts the veil.

The existence of this site is demonstrative of Jehovah’s provision for those seeking Him, but the true sanctuary is one of the heart condition of the one seeking Him. That is true for those who are currently deaf and blind and who will remain so until Jehovah demands that they see and hear otherwise. If Jehovah demands that they stay blind and deaf so that His glory can be made all the the manifest, then why should we be be frustrated at this seeming intransigence that is thrust upon them? Perhaps we should look to our own learning to assist them on the day that they are awakened, though at that point, what we have to say will be somewhat of an understatement, given that Jehovah will speak for His self.

The disgusting thing that causes desolation. It would be a faction of this LGBTQ radicals that have been given power in government positions and come after religion and institutions for not supporting the LGBTQ agenda. They are in many government agencies already and in some countries they are forcing religions to pay taxes just for not being supportive of their ideology. I don't think it's the only thing that will cause desolation but it's one part of the attack on religion. And the UN fully supports their agenda. The GB leadership needs to condemn the UN entirely to protect the sheep just like how they made condemnation with Russia. It's not about taking sides. It's just letting the sheep know who the enemies are as mentioned in Daniels prophectic dream. As the UN is literally this final beast that WILL attack JW's and others.

That is a very comforting thought, that Jehovah knows when they are able to mentally, emotionally, and spiritually comprehend, and exactly what it will take, for each individual to be shocked into fleeing for their very lives. [I realize that some will not wake up] - but the fact that many dear friends will, - still comforts me.

My thoughts: Because the WHO is a UN entity and because the GB basically echoed (perhaps not exactly word-for-word but the meaning was indeed strongly and convincingly conveyed) the lies from the WHO that the "vaccines" were safe and effective, and because it has been shown that these "vaccines" have their origins in the military and are considered to be bio-weapons, I feel it is reasonable to use a certain amount of discernment and come to the conclusion (my personal conclusion, no forcing my conscience on anyone here) that, in effect, these so called vaccines and the coercion used organization wide to be taken by the vast willing brotherhood is indeed disgusting. And having these directives coming from the top of the org, the GB themselves, in complete concert and lock-step with the UN, I find these to be, although indirectly yes, but definitely related to, standing in a holy place.

Maybe your point Robert about this being a self inflicted event as opposed to the UN directly mandating the use of the "vaccines" is the proof needed to verify that the disgusting thing is not yet standing in the holy place. It is a very solid and thought provoking point, no question! I on the other hand personally think that the UN has its hands all over this "vaccine" thing, so much so as to qualify it and the coercion from the GB to be at least a part or initial stages of a disgusting thing standing where it ought not.

Certainly more time and more daily happenings can lead to stronger evidence of a disgusting thing (or an even more thoroughly disgusting thing) standing in a holy place in the future, no question about that! But I do not think we need to actually witness the UN Humvees rolling up Kings Road to determine the presence of a disgusting thing at a holy place. (that's a joke, insert laughter here)

Final thought: Maybe Driven and I have ceased going to meetings and turning in time cards a tad on the early side, or maybe not. Like almost everything else about our days, we shall just have to wait and see. We sincerely advocate for everyone to use their own conscience in this matter and I am not writing this to sway anyone in a direction they discern to not be applicable for their individual circumstances and pain thresholds.

In our recent discussion about wether to stay or leave the organization. I read many comments that said...brothers and sisters need to flea when "they will certainly put in place the disgusting thing that causes desolation" What is the disgusting thing? I always thought it had to do with the United Nations.

I went forth with my decision today to inform the elders that I am disassociating myself from the JW Organization.

Wow, that is a big step. I'm proud that you are following your conviction and I know you have done so due to your great love for Jehovah's holy name.

I appreciate your you kind words, they mean so very much to me. I have not made this decision too quickly but I honestly feel it's what I needed to do.
The longer I put it off the further I felt like I was falling away from Jehovah himself.
I hope one day you will be able to settle things too. This is still going to take some time to get use to so to speak. I've been baptized for over 20 yrs so this is a big adjustment for me.

Interesting points, yet it is necessary for the common sheep to recognise the disgusting thing. They do not have such insight on that as yet, just as they had no insight on 1975. What is to one disgusting, may not be to the other (the army taught me that). I assume (because I probably know no better), that the object is primarily disgusting to Jehovah, because it is He alone that answers it. Thus it might be something closer to His heart than the relatively superficial outbursts we have at present from the watchtower.

Given that most of the watchtower affiliates accept the watchtower claim of acting in their best interests, surely if they are to need something more disgusting than that of vaccines to shift their minds, then could the disgusting thing be somewhat more definitive? After all, their lives depend on their response and of course, the majority appear not to have discernment on these matters to alert them - thus the need to terrify them.

It seems that many here, myself included, left for no other reason than that they could not reconcile their conscience with the watchtower any longer. Thus maybe the disgusting thing is likewise an issue of conscience and may be more than one issue, or act of defiance and is actually a collective of issues, a sudden exposure. When I look back all those years; the abuses that watchtower has created seems as one long snake of evil going back decades and as yet unseen - and that is enough of a disgusting thing to satisfy the hardest conscience. When it comes to revelation, I rather imagine it to be an open mouthed jaw dropping exposure that justifies the intervention.

The disgusting thing appears to be related to idolatry. If you do a bible search you will see it most often is used to describe idolatry. I believe I recall that in the first century, the reason that the Roman Army was referred to as the disgusting thing is because they carried their flag, representing their Gods, into battles and no doubt they had it present when attacking and ultimately destroying Jerusalem. Flags are much easier to carry than literal idols and in fact substitute for their idol. That is why worldly armies put so much emphasis on the flag often at the forefront of their advance. Think about the iconic, Iwo Jima.

The vaccine is what I believe to be a bio-weapon and those taking it believed it would save their lives from the pandemic. And, many believed that the GB had divine inspiration to recommend it and that is why some who initially were hesitant, made the decision to get the vaccine after the GB led them to believe Jehovah inspired it. So, I think the vaccine comes with idolatry as well and could definitely be described as the “disgusting thing”. Many really think they are alive because of the vaccine/booster but it is Jehovah that is the source of life. Haven’t we all heard someone say that they caught COVID and survived even though being vaccinated but if they hadn’t been vaccinated it would have been much worse and even killed them. Isn’t that crediting their life to the vaccine?

This makes a lot of sense. Even before they started pushing the vaccine, you know what I know about the mask, I was afraid of where this was going. I think the thing that offended us the most was the air of superiority the GB were displaying. To have these men telling me about something that I am an expert in, and that they know nothing about, as if they were inspired to tell everyone to wear masks, and to question them to JW's was blasphemous. Like I have recounted a couple times when I had this discussion with a sister who also should know what maks do and cannbot do, and I asked "are we going to start taking medical advice from the GB now." Well the answer was yes! But she sure didn't like the question! That was the beginning of lifting the full veil to this idolatry!

This is just the beginning of the "instructions that seem strange, impractical, or illogical." We can be sure they won't be the last, because they published the above long after they had already given "instructions that seem strange, impractical, or illogical." And now with this latest monthly program with Lett declaring "Jesus trust us." I shouldn't be surprised at this level of arrogance on full display, but I cannot help it. And I know they'll keep it coming, and still I'll probably continue to be surprised each time!

thank you, I've been getting a bit confused with all the beasts lately. When we studied Rev. book in the 80's I didn't seem to have a problem, but now with all the new explanations for me, it's a different matter.....

"Before JW.org existed"... reminded me that in the 90's the watchtower refused to have any involvement on the internet. There was a lot of rationale about why, but none of it stood up to any level of scrutiny.

Technology like clay can be used for good and bad. It is up to the potter to decide if the thing made will be for a good purpose or otherwise. It is as if the WT determined for us all that clay is bad, so we do not use clay.
