Just finished it. 😊 Book 5 was particularly enjoyable.
It's true book 5 is the best
Simon the magician is interesting
Pedro was not wrong when he told Simon that he had a dirty heart
It is very interesting to read how they began to deviate
Also the crooked arguments that they began to use
Marcion and his theories are still heard
Ireneus would get along very badly with the GB :ROFLMAO:

It looks like a good support for the earthly hope in the ministry given it shows that they didn't think everyone goes to heaven back then. It is unfortunate that gnostic nonsense has become fashionable in recent decades. Agreed it would be entertaining to watch him interact with the octopope. 😂

If the perspective on earth was clear
They knew that some would go to heaven but not all
In fact it is clear that they did not divide between hopes
Simply God chooses where each one goes
Interesting conclusions can be drawn from that.
poor ireneus the gb would expel him without mercy😂

@Ireneo Have you read dialogue with trypho and Justin Martyr's apologies? Finished listening to audio a week ago and I'd love to hear your thoughts and takes if so.

I haven't really read Ignatius letters yet but I heard they were shortened because the followers of arius were using long versions and that half of the ones Catholics use are forgeries to counter the arians. I wouldn't really know how/where to start on him.

it’s interesting. After the council of Nicea truth became heresy.

I must apologize for the idol images in the video I simply copied a link from book 1 as a whole when I listened I used a playlist where it was broken down into 15-45 minute chunks without those. Thought it better to put a whole book of the set here.

Hello, from Justino I only read the first and second apology
I did not get the dialogue with tryphoon in Spanish yet
Apologies are interesting
Although it is seen that Justino was faithful, he had some errors of interpretation and began to be contaminated with philosophy.
It also talks about Simon the magician
Haha everyone hated Simon
I'm going to read the dialogue with trifon as soon as I get it

He was off on some things seemed to believe in transubstantiation but it was interesting hearing him teach a Jew from the scriptures Jesus preexistence and the two powers in heaven concept that Jews marginalized a few decades earlier because of how effectively Christians used it. It's pretty long around seven of eight hours of early christian witnessing over the span of 2 days.
