The normalization of evil.

One of the reasons why I know the end must be "close" is because people who are able to understand what is happening are dwindling in number. If this world goes on long enough there wouldn't be anyone left alive worth saving.
Sad but true. Psalm 53 comes to mind:

1 The foolish one says in his heart:
“There is no Jehovah.”
Their unrighteous actions are corrupt and detestable;
No one is doing good.
2 But God looks down from heaven on the sons of men
To see whether anyone has insight, whether anyone is seeking Jehovah.
3 They have all turned away;
They are all alike corrupt.
No one is doing good,
Not even one.
4 Do none of the wrongdoers understand?
They devour my people as if they were eating bread.
They do not call on Jehovah.
5 But they will be filled with great terror,
Terror they have never felt before,
For God will scatter the bones of those attacking you.
You will put them to shame, for Jehovah has rejected them.
6 O that Israel’s salvation may come from Zion!
When Jehovah gathers back his captive people,
Let Jacob be joyful, let Israel rejoice.

Saw this video & it felt profound.
Every year just a little bit worse. I forget if it was a Watchtower or a book but there was an experience from a couple mentioned years ago. It was about a movie they were watching and something kept nagging at one of them until they both realized it was a movie they had gone to see at a theater previously but had got up and walked out because it wasn't wholesome. Some of the accounts they relate, make you wonder if they were real but that one seemed to hit right on the mark. This fella says it exactly the way it is. It's gradual. They just chip away at you. Like with the trans thing. They have become so militant that most people just walk away to avoid an argument whereas it wasn't so long ago that you didn't talk about some things. Homosexuality wasn't talked about in my house growing up. Sure, there were kids with insults as kids do in school but in the home, you didn't even dignify it by mentioning it.

He said “Evil is much closer than we suspect.“

Yes, that is so true. In the last week I’ve been subjected to it by a witness, a family member and an acquaintance. It can be very unnerving to be subjected to this especially when when you’re keeping to yourself, minding your own business and doing your best to live a moral clean life.

It‘s kind of like how the people were in Sodom and how Lot must have felt back then living there….”Lot, who was greatly distressed by the brazen conduct of the lawless people —for day after day that righteous man was tormenting his righteous soul over the lawless deeds that he saw and heard while dwelling among them.” 2 Peter 2:7,8
