In the eighties the watchtower sent a chilling message that there would be no marrying in the new system! We were saddened and thought how can this be truth at the proper time. This has since been corrected! Yet back in 87 Watchtower reasoning is based on a misapplication of Luke 20:34-36, which is discussing a resurrection to heaven, where it says:I was taught from the start of my studies with the witnesses that the scripture was talking about the annointed ones, us mere mortals will still be able to marry and have kids and Jehovah will somehow make sure the planet doesn't get overpopulated. He created procreation, he can switch it off, a bit like the car manufacturers do now, you want access to the heated seats in your car? then you can have them switched on, at a price of course!!
"The children of this system of things marry and are given in marriage, but those who have been counted worthy of gaining that system of things and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage. In fact, neither can they die any more, for they are like the angels, and they are Gods children by being children of the resurrection."
Here is what they said before the correction:
"Some have felt that Jesus was here referring to the heavenly resurrection, yet there are reasons to believe that his reply was about the earthly resurrection in the coming “system of things.” https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1987409
