Truth is the Way

Sadly this is the attitude that's still prevalent in JW today. And it's not their fault, but the fault of the ones taking the lead. They pay lip service but don't give him the honor he deserves. They don't remove him from the picture outright, but they did at least once ... Notice how in this April 15, 2013 Watchtower we can see clearly the GB in the position of power but Jesus is absent... Or probably invisibly present :)

Psalm 2:12
Honor* the son,+ or God* will become indignant
And you will perish from the way,+
For His anger flares up quickly.
Happy are all those taking refuge in Him.

Philippians 2: 9-11
9 For this very reason, God exalted him to a superior position+ and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name,+ 10 so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend—of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground+11 and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord+ to the glory of God the Father.

John 3:36
The one who exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life;+ the one who disobeys the Son will not see life,+ but the wrath of God remains upon him.+
I liked this post but I want to love it. There is no "love" option provided, because that is the structure of websites. Robert would have gladly had one available to us. If you engage the public today, say Jesus to someone. Even if it seems out of context, say the Lord's name to someone so they have to hear it in. a public space. Jesus. It is the only name we have been given to provide salvation to any of us.

I should mention to all of my JW brothers and sisters that just like you, this goes against my training. We were taught even discreetly that we were to minimize Jesus as to the name of Jehovah. Don't you wonder why? Because God's will is that we direct our attention to his son which is his only provision for life. It is not our place to question his reason but to accept his loving hand extended to us.

Yep. I already saw this one. Removing the Lord Jesus—the one whom Jehovah entrusted all things, out of the picture, for them to shine and show the GB directs all the preaching work directly from Jehovah.

I bet if you asked the author who Jesus is he would say he is God.
I have ben called to the stone for this answer by self admitted masons. They claim to have the true scriptures and mention the King James and yet if I ask them a word or two about God's word they amble about like cattle with a sheepdog barking at them.
How does anyone make any statement regarding God or God's word without having studied everything available about it? The bible is without question the most argued book of all time. My detractors can't even dignify me with a few hours study a week of scripture in question.
If a person isn't willing to study what we refer to as God's word then they can just remain silent. Never be afraid to shut the mouths of those who won't even put effort into their argument.
If it seems as if my patience is wearing thin, think about how Jehovah must feel, yet he is the inventor of patience.

So Jesus said to them again, “Truly, truly I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All those who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. “I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters the flock. I am the good shepherd, and I know My own, and My own know Me, just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will listen to My voice; and they will become one flock, with one shepherd. For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it back. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it back. This commandment I received from My Father.” Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father’s name, these testify of Me. But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep. My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” Jesus answered them, “Has it not been written in your Law: ‘I said, you are gods’? If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be nullified), are you saying of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do them, even though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father.”
John 10:7‭-‬9‭, ‬11‭-‬12‭, ‬14‭-‬18‭, ‬25‭-‬30‭, ‬

This is how Jehovah decided we can have a relationship with him that is trough Jesus and the blood of the new covenant. To Jesus were handed over the interests of the new kingdom.

I don't believe so! I think it's intentional. They try to minimise the position of Jesus so they elevate themselves. Too bad nobody can get to Jehovah but through Jesus Christ.

Now these things, brothers and sisters, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos on your account, so that in us you may learn not to exceed what is written, so that no one of you will become arrogant in behalf of one against the other. For who considers you as superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it? You are already filled, you have already become rich, you have become kings without us; and indeed, I wish that you had become kings so that we also might reign with you! For I think, God has exhibited us, the apostles, last of all as men condemned to death, because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to mankind. We are fools on account of Christ, but you are prudent in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are without honor! For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, just as I teach everywhere in every church.
1 Corinthians 4:6‭-‬10‭, ‬17

But false prophets also appeared among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Many will follow their indecent behavior, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
2 Peter 2:1‭-‬3
Are those scriptures not written for this very day! How can the GB not understand these scriptures? So appropriate for them. 👍

Back in the 70's I Remember either a question from readers or in a talk or a wt lesson, it was said that the reason we did not mention Jesus all the time was because we did not want to be like Christendom or Jesus freaks. We focus on Jehovah.

I can't remember the setting, but I never forgot the statement. Especially the Jesus freaks part. Could have been a comment not sure. But it kinda made me go hmmmmm.

Found an article from awake 11/8/72 page 3
The Jesus People Modern Day Phenomenon that briefly mentions the Jesus movement as it was sometimes referred to in hippie Days from 60's /70's. Don't know how to post. I use my phone and ipad.

Not that anyone here isn't aware of this. I just had a flashback.

To me it's very interesting what Jesus said a moment before he was lifted up (emphasis mine):
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the holy spirit comes upon you,+ and you will be witnesses+ of me in Jerusalem,+ in all Ju·deʹa and Sa·marʹi·a,+ and to the most distant part of the earth.

By witnessing for Jesus we give glory to Jehovah.

John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood— and He made us into a kingdom, priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. Revelation 1:4‭-‬6

Everything that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I certainly will not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of everything that He has given Me I will lose nothing, but will raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:37‭-‬40

So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be to you; just as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
John 20:21

I remember flash-backs from the sixties, E&E, but they were not the ones you’re thinking about, but the more vivid ones that a good joint of Afghan black provided. The flash backs I get now are more of the sort you have when you figure out what day it is. You’re right ! there was a lot of fear regarding stereotyping other religions and their various “enthusiasms“ for Jesus, but at the same time the society was certainly more inclusive towards Christ at that time. I always remember watchtower for their dignity in presenting the bible and, at the time, so much more freedom to discuss scripture. I recall some very enjoyable chats with an elder lasting for the whole evening without any mention of watchtower, and with no worries about challenging doctrine. The opposite was true in that sometimes one could say, watchtower “got it wrong“ without fear of shunning, invoking an elders meeting or with a furtive glance at the back room. In a few short years that was over and any disagreement Invoked a report to an elder or an unannounced knock on the door late one evening from an elder with his bible pre-marked with numbered and coloured post-it stickers of retribution, doom, defeat and despair, followed by floods fire and famine of shunning and shame and everlasting damnation - and of course his back-up henchman by his side like a caped-crusader wringing his hands together, desperate to draw his first blood of justice for the Org. and receive his first “It’s what we do” badge of honour. Happy days. I miss them so.
