I recently stumbled onto this video. Normally I don’t give much attention to these kinds of voices, but I decided to give it a watch. Some of his opinions are definitely a bit out there, yet with all the changes we’ve seen lately, none of them would particularly surprise me.
The underlying vision here is that the seers of Watchtower no longer believe Armageddon is coming any time soon. In fact, some of them may not even believe it at all anymore. Of course, there are certainly still some who do, but their recent actions make it clear that they are more focused on ensuring the survival of the organization itself than on truly serving Jehovah. Robert has hinted at this many times when he said that in the future the WTBTS will go fully apostate.
This reality stumbles many JWs. For some, it becomes an excuse to abandon Jehovah entirely, either turning atheist or drifting into another religion. That reaction might seem understandable, but it misses the bigger picture. The very fact that the organization is twisting, changing, and even abandoning key doctrines is itself part of prophecy. We already know the Watchtower is heading toward outright apostasy, so it doesn’t stumble us when we see it happening. Instead, it confirms what we’ve been expecting all along. The ones who truly get stumbled are those who use these developments as an excuse to leave Jehovah altogether. They are mistaken, because Jehovah’s purposes have not failed and never will.
So when I hear predictions about the Watchtower’s transformation into something more worldly or mainstream, I don’t dismiss them. I simply recognize them as further steps along the path foretold. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if many of these changes come to pass even sooner than some expect.
