Who are the "they" in 1Thessalonians 5 v 3

I'm sorry, sis. But this particular interpretation doesn't nearly align with bible prophecy. Especially, since the anointed sons that's currently taking the lead — the Governing-body, will soon be hurled down with great force; when the judgment on God's house begin or during Christ's parousia. -Revelation 8:10-11. In that, Jehovah and Christ will soon remove and demote the antitypical "Shebna" from “office” and will strip them bare from their current position, promoting and appointing the antitypical "Eliakim(the two Witnesses)" to take their place. -Isaiah 22:17-19, Jeremiah 23:12, Jeremiah 23:15-20.

This spiritual fall and dismissal of the antitypical “Shebna,” is foretold in Revelation 8:10-11, which reads:

So no, the WT will not (figuratively) have "a new headquarters located at the UN." I highly doubt it.
You bring up a good subject because in so many ways they are already denying Christ. He warned about the “Evil Slave” but they made that moot by saying it could not be a real entity. So, if its impossible, why warn about it? It makes no sense to me. Also, they deny Christ by denying molested children justice. In fact, they side with the molester because they feel like it safer financially to deny the charges. So, so many ways they have denied Christ. But no doubt it will culminate in a full throated denial by denying that Jesus has come, when he does and denying that the Chosen Ones are sealed. And, they will also be an anti-christ by turning on the Chosen Ones in the same pattern as the High Priest, scribes and Pharisees. How we treat the anointed is viewed as being done to Jesus.

I think Melinda was being a tad hyperbolic 😆

You make some very good points there Susan 👍

If Christ warned Christians to flee "Jerusalem" when they see the disgusting thing standing in a holy place, telling the man on the rooftop not to even go inside to grab his go-bag, then it should be apparent that those who ignore Christ's warning will pay a heavy price. Remember the wife of Lot.

WT is already setting the trap by priming the brothers not to question Strange illogical instructions from us
Exactly, and back in 2020/21 the "spiritual" internet was buzzing with examples like Moses going the long way round to the Red Sea (or was it a more dangerous route? I can't remember now, need to listen to that old drama again, it's better than most of their stuff today 😁) but they forget that Jehovah had just enacted the 10 plagues, and demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was guiding them by using the cloud during the day and the cloud with fire at night. After the internet had been awash with these "examples" of why we should get injected, the GB actually included this reasoning in a Watchtower study article not long after!! Madness!!

Can you imagine if the 8th king that rises is a digital AI thingy, and that the internet has been switched off long enough for everyone to be so desperate to get back "online" that they'll do anything to access the virtual world again and maybe even to access the supermarkets? Nightmare scenario 🥹
It will likely include that as a feature.

@Watchman Robert, could the modern day "fleeing from Jerusalem", correlate to fleeing WT (a.k.a. Babylon the Great" due to the man of lawlessness) , when the command is given to "Get out of her my people"?

The GB and CO's and elders have been constantly telling us the past few years that for us to be safe and secure, now, AND in a future time when the great tribulation then we need to listen to and obey THEM (including the elders), that our obedience to THEM and their instructions they're going to give us, is what's going to save our lives. The more they say it, the more suspicious I get and I've told my son who desperately believes their narrative that I will NOT be going with them all to the woods or wherever they're going to lead us. I honestly believe Satan is behind that "obey the GB" narrative and it's HIM they're going to be following, straight into some type of an ambush. But as my son keeps telling me, I'm the most cynical person he's ever known 😬🫣 I've no idea how to rid myself of my cynicism due to me seeing and experiencing so much horror and incredulity in my short life, starting from about 7yrs old 🥹
There is nothing wrong in cynicism - it is the mouthpiece of the thinking person. The more one becomes educated in the facets of the attributes of the Spirit, the greater clarity there is in understanding the nuances of what is happening today. Society is not normal but is seen to be the normality of what life is about. In fact, it is a daily contest of the mind to keep a balance and understand that we live in a mirage. What is normal? Truth is normal. Affection is normal. The conscience trained and focused upon the attributes of the spirit is normal and these things dwell within the heart that abides by the biblical explanation of them.

People try to make sense of the times we live in. They vote in hope but know not what they hope for. It’s the same pattern right the way down to the “big savings “ one can get in the supermarket. If we reason upon and train our thinking upon the attributes of the spirit, then our standards and values naturally comfort our reasoning as to what is beneficial. The scriptures actually refer to that. In this way, our natural God-given soul identifies what is important to our mental wellbeing. People refer to that as meditation, but it’s not, it’s understanding of the attributes of the spirit. This is our internal guide. The reward in peace of mind is immeasurable.

If we have not already fled from watchtower in mind and spirit then something is wrong. It appears to me that the “get out of her my people” is more a statement of everything that is wrong in this world. We can flee from watchtower, but to what or to where do we actually flee? There is nowhere to go. The whole of society is corrupted. Thus it is something more required for us to “get out from”

Watchtower heaps coals upon its head because of what it claims to represent, but as we see from those that have come out of her prostitution of the word, the majority have fled to the false freedoms of this world. Though those that remain cling stubbornly in their blindness to words from those that prostitute the word of Jehovah, claiming they “know” how Jehovah teaches them, the remaining sheep at least (hopefully the majority) still strive to serve truth - shown by those that leave and will leave and continue to seek it.

The bible speaks of being prepared and it is this preparation that involves our state of mind. People are required to determine the time we live in, to be ready spiritually within themselves in “understanding” what is required of our inner soul. As the Bible points out where is says “not to be terrified”, there is an understanding required of us if we are to have faith in that statement. The terror comes from those that would kill us - yet the Bible again tells us “not to fear those that kill the body, but can not destroy the soul”. That demands insight and an already decided upon course of action - faith - and thus our taking the time to ingest the meaning and understanding that faith requires.

“Getting out if her my people”, is in many ways a call to an holistic understanding over all; a state of mentality through deep appreciation of the issues in contention between satan and Jehovah, the representation of such being held by watchtower primarily in principle of this contention, but with the overall understanding that satan is “the ruler of this world”. Getting out then, is a complete rejection of all that this world has to offer by those that would seek to have dominion over it.

However, what watchtower does represent is falsity to the Word, seeking to put itself as a mouthpiece for Jehovah and which, when we stop to consider it, is the greatest offence that man has to offer - the pinnacle of all that is wrong in this world. What Christ refused from satan, watchtower seems to grab with both hands to “become ruler of this world” - stating that they will be ruling as kings from heaven. Is that not what they claim?

Has it occured to anybody, that "pure worship" could be synonym to "peace and security"? In harmony with the context.
