Just as a follow up to my comment on Brother King’s video, there was one more point that I found particularly of value. He explains that the “sudden destruction” is different than the judgment that will come first on the house of God. He asks HOW does the judgment occur and then he points out the connection between Jeremiah mentioning the sword, famine and pestilence and the seals of Revelation.
“They have denied Jehovah, and they keep saying, ‘He will do nothing. No calamity will come upon us; We will not see sword or famine.’
therefore this is what Jehovah of armies says: “Here I am going to call them to account. The young men will die by the sword, and their sons and their daughters will die by famine.
On all the worn paths through the wilderness the destroyers have come, For the sword of Jehovah is devouring from one end of the land to the other end. There is no peace for anyone.
And if they say to you, ‘Where should we go?’ you must say to them, ‘This is what Jehovah says: “Whoever is for deadly plague, to deadly plague! Whoever is for the sword, to the sword! Whoever is for the famine, to the famine! And whoever is for the captivity, to the captivity!”’
The 7 seals of Revelation begin in Chapter 6 but it is too lengthy to quote and I think we already know that the first 4 seals are the horses and riders, representing conquest, sword for slaughter, famine and premature death. It is with the opening of the 7th seal that introduces 7 trumpets and the first 4 trumpets appear to be directed against God’s people because after the 4th trumpet the angel then declares woe for the earth due to the impending last 3 trumpets. So, even though the judgment first begins with the house of God, the “sudden destruction” is on the nations via the collapse of the world power, the 7th King but then human rulership will recover via the 8th King. So, now in my mind, the portion of the scripture talking about “sudden destruction” and “they will by no means escape”, is probably the complete collapse of all human governments and just like trying to prevent or delay a birth when a pregnant woman is involuntarily required to push, it cannot be prevented. Anyway, that is what I am thinking now that I’ve dissected the research.
