Not one to believe something just because, but this isn't the first time I've heard there were/are tunnels between WT buildings. It isn't far-fetched that, at least in the past, the NYC WT buildings could have had subterranean connecting tunnels and believe there was a JW video stating these were used for speedy access and transporting of important publications, etc? However, has anyone here anything to substantiate the claim from this video that there was an apostate library or even an area where apostate-labeled material was archived? I stripped a section (~3mins) of a video where this allegation appeared. The statements regarding how GB (& the RF) views criticism is viewed are very true. Questioning the GB's teachings and/or instructions are generally construed as apostate or of someone influenced by having read apostate material. However, criticizing the org and or questioning a teaching is not, by definition, apostasy, but yet heresy. Nonetheless, that's not how it's viewed by the R&F.

In any case, not trying to create any conspiracy theories; just seeking to verify if this is or could be true.

I thought it was common knowledge about the tunnels? I've even seen mention of the Brooklyn ones in their literature. The first time I visited the German Bethel back in 1995, the brother who toured us around told us about the tunnels there too and explained how easy it made their life. When the people in the village below heard about the tunnels the obvious crazy stories started circulating and so the brothers had an open day specially for the village. They were all invited, AND got to see the tunnels..
As for the "apostate library" I've never heard of that, but I'd be surprised if they DIDN'T have one! I just don't believe it's "down a scary tunnel, in a secret room" The video is over dramatizing it for effect.

You're correct the tunnel system in Bethel was always common knowledge.

Speaking of tunnels ...this is somewhat off script but in one of Australia's capital cities the Catholics have a tunnel that goes under the main highway and connects the Nunnery with the Seminary. They reckon the traffic going through there in the middle of the night was pretty busy. Conveniently they also ran an orphanage that came in handy every time a Nun had a bun in the oven.

As you're driving down the road you can see the impressive buildings standing opposite each other. Old Ex Catholic Brothers use to quip about it regularly. It was one of the town's worse kept secrets.

Yes, we’ve been to Brooklyn Bethel a few times and even toured through the tunnels. One thing is they can avoid the traffic outside above ground. As far as the apostate library I had no knowledge of this until now. But this wouldn’t be surprising to me.

I have a book from the 1850s written by Maria Monke who was supposed to be of the Order of the Black Nuns who told her story of molestation by priests etc and child abuse. There were tunnels from the abbey to the nunnery. It was a pretty horrific to read. One of my co-workers asked to borrow it to read - a staunch Catholic. She told me she couldn’t get past the first chapter. Tunnels seem synonymous with religion. They have a lot to hide.

Yes, I've heard such tales over the years Barney, not nice at all 😬 do you think it all stems from when the first century christians (allegedly) hid in the catacombs?

“important publications”
An oxymoron if ever I heard one.

Tunnels have legitimate purpose. It’s what they are used for that gives them meaning. Watchtower might need them or maintenance etc, but out of sight and out of mind is always a thing with them clearly.

I suppose it all pales into insignifance when compared to some of the stuff I've heard about what humans have been building underground, all over the earth, right metropolises by the sound of it, not sure what's true and what's not yet though, if it IS true, we're going to have an awful lot of "filling in" to do in Jah's new world 😬 bagsy first go on the "filler upper" truck 😂

I do not concern myself with watchtower any longer. It’s like picking at a scab - it inevitably bleeds all the more. Do we have any judgement on Norway yet? Do you know? It all seems to have gone silent.
