This is an awesome comment, Bill. I’d love to have a conversation with you some day.
Out here in rural Illinois, I hear the gunfire every weekend of folks sharpening their marksmanship skills. Some pretty big caliber stuff too.We aren't seeing everything and that is typical, or anti-typical. The good thing is that we know the outcome so it makes it easier to understand most of their moves. My main focus lately is "those who kill with the sword". I've got to get my head wrapped around that. I am no Rambo but I was raised with the concept of defending my own and trying to slide through all of this ungodliness has been strenuous for me. I attended my first (Zoom, or any kind) meeting in 20 years tonight. I feel the edge of the blade on my backside. I listen to the JW party line but then I have to recall that everything we encounter now is designed to lead us away from the Creator. As a side note, my family name on my mother's side is King. Not that it matters. I'm just looking for street cred I guess. Maybe Robert and I were related back in the old country. For now, until I can't any longer, he is my watchman and he is the man that woke me up to disruptions in my scriptural arrogance. JW led me to a way of thinking so that I couldn't see my lacking. I let a very good bible education be wasted on hurt feelings and pride.
I don't take nor accept anything the world offers as news or education without comparing it to Matthew or Revelation first. We are one flatulent disruption away from paradise.
There’s a lot of people in America who can sense the approaching tyranny and seem to be preparing to face it down when it arrives.
I believe there will be many who will foolishly attempt to resist any “New world order” government with force.
In my opinion I believe that the scripture in Revelation 13:10 is a warning against fool heartedly resisting the instrument Jehovah uses to bring judgement to the world.
“If anyone is destined for captivity, he will go into captivity; if anyone kills with a sword, he must be killed with a sword. Here is [the call for] the patient endurance and the faithfulness of the saints [which is seen in the response of God’s people to difficult times].”
When the system finally descends into chaos, there will be a lot of bloodshed by desperate people perhaps trying to defend themselves from mobs of lawless people.
Maybe that’s another big reason why people are arming themselves to the teeth.
Self preservation is a normal instinct and I couldn’t slight anyone who had to kill to protect their loved ones from being harmed.
On the other hand, when the eighth king does ascend to power, he will wield such formidable military might, that any pockets of resistance to his rule will be utterly smashed as the first chapter of Habakkuk reveals
“They make fun of kings And rulers are a laughing matter to them. They ridicule every stronghold And heap up rubble [for earth mounds] and capture it.
Habakkuk 1:10
When the shock waves of the great tribulation have subsided, for those of us still alive, it will be the opportune time for us to surrender to the modern day Chaldeans for our own survival.
