Devaluation of currencies around the world.

Hello. I hope you are all doing well. I have a question (and this is especially affecting my country Colombia and I know that many others too). I've seen that in the last months, many currencies around the world have lost its value against the dolar. I'm pretty scared and worried about it. In a few months or years... The Colombian peso has gone from being around 2800 = 1 dolar to 5.005 = 1 dollar today. That is alarming a lot of people because it's been going up and up and up for some years now and people are scared that it goes out of control. Some are accusing the current government for that because they have forbidden more oil exploration and other things, but I've seen this is happening on a global scale. I know Christians should not be terrified because of the things that will happen. And that we should trust Jehovah to cover our needs, and I don't want you to think that I do not have faith or anything like that, I'm just very scared and concerned about me and my country (especially because I recently could buy my apartment, my house. After a A BIG BIG BIG effort I could buy it) and the payment for it is being affected by this. I don't want my country to end up pretty bad like Venezuela or other countries where the hyperinflation destroyed them or losing my house because of this and appear before the credit bureaus as a bad borrower (something I have taken care of meticulously). Thanks God there is no hyperinflation yet, but inflation like its happening all over the world. I thank God for all these blessings like my new house. I would like to know what's going on and what do you think will happen? I've read the news, but we all know they do not tell the truth entirely. And I repeat myself again: I do not want to be misunderstood. I'm really scared and worried about this. Thank you for listening. I would appreciate some comfort words. (I'm also having some hard time with my kitty and other things that are not making me feel good right now). Thank you again.

I hope with all my heart that your kitty gets better, whatever is ailing him/her! As for your country, the peso to dollar value and your home that you worked so hard for, well, do you want me to sugar-coat it or tell it to you straight? Sorry, not very comforting at all! I promise to say a meaningful prayer for you right now Luis!

OK, I just said a prayer specifically for you Luis. As this thread develops, I am certain there will be some comfort coming toward you, piece by little piece. Let it develop. It may take some time. Take care and talk to you again soon!

It would be nice if we could know exactly what will happen in the near future and the far future. No human can know for sure because there are always unintended consequences, but as you say it will be an opportunity to show that our faith and trust in Jehovah is more than lip service. I do think there will be a world-wide financial crash when the Great Tribulation hits, but I don’t think the banks or the money collectors will be exempt. It is likely to be so wide spread that I don’t think you will need to worry about having your credit ruined. We will all be in the same situation and I think the banks will be powerless to do anything, including foreclosing on homes. Look at what happened in 2008. It took years for the banks to foreclose on properties. And, we know from God’s word that he will cut short those days. Jehovah fed the nation of Israel with manna and he will make provision for his people in our time too. Build up your faith and you may need to accept uncomfortable situations but nothing can prevent you from staying in a close relationship with Jehovah.

i can understand your anxiety for what might happen. but Jehovah will help you to keep your head over water.. i lost my apartment 3 years ago now. (Because of the air bnb thingy there are almost no regular rent out here and those who do charge way over my economic ability)I rented a campingwagon for the last years, its not much but it allows me to be close to my family and have a roof over my head and a bed to sleep in. Ive prayed so many times to Jehovah to please help me find a little shed of my own.. so what happened this spring was a great storm came out of nowhere and wrecked the front window of the campingwagon. I took rope and a big plastic sheet and 2 km of duct tape and fixed it somewhat. As soon as i finished the next storm wind hit and ripped off the roofwindow😱🤪 after waiting the entire summer ( living in said wagon) for answer from insurance company they said they cannot get those windows so they basically trashed it and paid out the loan on it for like 12000$ because finding a window to it was impossible. So now im living in a woodshack. Its not as warm as the wagon but i manage to survive somehow. And if it gets too cold i can borrow a sofa in the neighbouring building. No im not extatically happy about how things are regarding to my living situation but i do get by, i have a roof over my head ( although there might be an occasional lack of windows😝) i have food on the table a bed to sleep in and i have my loved ones close. the point i was trying to make was that Jehovah has kept his promise.. even though there are more things i wish i could have or change..🤗 (like why its been like this for so long? Maybe theres a purpose for it) i do hope you and the kitten are okay, may Gods peace protect your thoughts.

Maybe Jehovah is preparing you for the nearby future? So you are 'trained' in 'living rough' and satisfied, so you can help those have difficulties when the GT and the 8th king appear.

This is probably little consolation, but if the banks collapse nobody will be around collecting payments for a good long while if ever again. It will certainly buy you time. The brothers closest to you (in friendship) will be important as you hopefully can pool ideas and resources (food). Personal security will become an issue, so keep the weaker ones in your life close by you. Prayer and faith will go a long way.

Thank you so much. I needed to see this. Hehe :)

Thank you for your prayer, brother. But I don't think it was very kind from you to say in the state that I was if I needed o wanted to be sugar coated.

Anyway. Thank you for your prayers for real and keep on making them and thank you for your words towards my kitty. I felt horrible for that. He passed away yesterday and it has not been easy for me. It has been horrible, not good at all and has made me feel other feelings. So, keep praying for me please. I need the prayers from you and everyone here. Thank you so much in advance.

So sorry about your kitty, Luis. 😞 You are in my prayers as well as everyone here.

Fluctuations of currencies relative to the dollar should not have that much impact on the internal economies of nations. Obviously, imports and exports are affected. The biggest problem for indebted nations is that the debts must be repaid in Dollars, which means that their debt increases as the Dollar strengthens. Ironically, the biggest debtor in the entire universe is the US government. Foolish politicians long ago (1913) turned over credit creation to a private banking cartel called the Federal Reserve.

The ruling class live on top, everyone else are slaves or servants. Eventually the debasing of currency reaches the point where revolt is inevitable. Then they swoop in with new currency. I read some time back that Roman Emperor Septimius Severus in his last days said, in his final words to his 2 sons, heirs to the empire:

"live in harmony; enrich the troops; ignore everyone else."

This stuck with me, and really sums it up. The article is still up: Inflation and the Fall of the Roman Empire. I can't vouch for it's accuracy, but it sure rings true.

"If a city couldn't pay its costs or pay the salaries of its employees, it simply struck up some token coinage and issued that."

When the system finally crashes, they will swoop in with the electronic denarius. Anyone that is not well connected to the ruling class get plundered.

Man! I can't believe how rough you're living. And many today complain about things that pale in comparison. I hear there are many people in the US that actually live out of their cars these days. It's horrible what they're doing to people these days.

I pray that God blesses you and you make it through the difficult times ahead AC. May Jehovah bless you with riches in the new system, even if it doesn't happen in this system.

Anyway. Thank you for your prayers for real and keep on making them and thank you for your words towards my kitty. I felt horrible for that. He passed away yesterday and it has not been easy for me. Ahhh, Luis I'm so sorry about your cat. I pray for you as well.

It's tough to tell you what to do about your house. I have a small house but it's really the bank's. When the time comes they can take it away easily. I would say that if the mortgage you pay is about the same as rent, you've got nothing to lose. But if it's going to take more from you financially to buy a house then examine it closely.
