Given that JW's have indeed taught basic Bible Truths, let's list the good things we've learned below:
1) The Trinity is false and predated Jesus for hundreds of years
2) The hellfire teaching is false and a method of control by religions for guilt and went all the way back to Babylon's religions
3) The holidays are all of pagan origins and are false
4) The whole world lies in Satan's control so genuine Christians should be no part of politics
5) The entertainment industry is infiltrated by Satanists who are using it to create culture, break down morals and break up families and shape values
6) Homosexuality is wrong. It is not an "alternative" lifestyle, it is in fact, something that Jehovah disagrees with. It is unnatural
7) Bible morality is clear: Jehovah gets to decide right from wrong. Genuine Christians need to maintain moral purity
8) The Bible is the Word of God. It is not myth or mere history. It's prophecies set it apart as being inspired
9) Astrology, tarot cards, witchcraft, spiritism is all wicked and needs to be avoided. It is not harmless fun. Any entertainment, be it TV shows, movies, magazines, books, music or otherwise with spiritistic overtones needs to be avoided.
10) Abstain from eating blood or taking it in the body as a medical treatment.
11) True Christians would observe the Memorial of Christ's death yearly
12) True Christians would be preaching earth wide and their message would center around the Good News of God's Kingdom.
13) The soul is not immortal. This is a unscriptural teaching
14) Not all good people go to heaven. In fact, most don't. Most good people will be resurrected to a paradise earth
15) Mary did not always remain as a virgin and had other children
16) Reincarnation does not happen. People who die are asleep in death awaiting a resurrection.
17) Ancestors are not in heaven looking down over us guiding us.
Perhaps I am missing some things in the above list and feel free to mention them and I will add them to the list. These make up the "healthful teachings" that true Christians must abide by and can be scripturally proven.
However, there are a bunch of rules and regulations that are a part of what I call "JW Culture" that are not based in the scriptures at all and I thought it would be good to have a list of those and why they are unscriptural:
1) No where in the Bible does it require that Christians count time when they engage in the ministry? Report how many RV's they make? When did the early Christians place literature with people rather than read the Bible?
2) Where in the Bible is the use of the word "Pioneer"? We have no idea how many hours that Paul or the other apostles put in the ministry.
3) Robert has written in his book some great rebuttals to the "two-witness rule" for child sexual abuse both from the Hebrew and Greek scriptures
4) Robert has covered extensively the erroneous Bible prophecies and the misuse of the self-appropriated appointment of themselves as the "faithful and discreet slave" who has been appointed all of Christ's belongings and how the organization has said that "listening to the GB is the same as listening to Christ"
5) Jesus said "you received free to give free" and yet the organization used to charge the public for its literature.
6) Romans 13 being used to justify allowing the government to override bodily autonomy in medical matters. Using the scripture of "causing divisions" to threaten and silence anyone who spoke up about the vaccine being harmful.
That's my start. Add your own. We'll grow this list. Use the scriptures to guide your comments.
We endeavor to "make sure of all things and hold fast to what is fine" and to avoid doctrines of men.
