Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, . . . only the Father.—Matt. 24:36.
In some countries, people respond eagerly when they hear the good news. It is just what they have been waiting for! In other lands, people show little interest in God or the Bible. What is the common response where you live? Whatever it is, Jehovah expects us to keep right on preaching until the work is completed to his satisfaction. At Jehovah’s set time, the preaching work will reach its conclusion and “the end will come.” (Matt. 24:14) Jesus foretold events and conditions that would mark the last days and that could distract his followers from accomplishing the preaching work. He admonished his disciples to “keep on the watch.” (Matt. 24:42) Today, we face distractions similar to those that prevented the people of Noah’s day from paying attention to the warning proclaimed by Noah. (Matt. 24:37-39; 2 Pet. 2:5) Therefore, we want to stay focused on the work Jehovah has given us to do. w20.09 8 ¶1-2, 4

What about the preaching work of Jehovah’s Witnesses? 1

QUESTION: If 1914 is not valid, what accounts for the preaching work of Jehovah’s Witnesses?

ANSWER: When Jesus was on earth he personally undertook and also organized and directed an extensive preaching campaign. His message was simple: ‘Repent, you people, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near!’

That was the message Jesus instructed his disciples to preach. But in what sense had the kingdom drawn near 2,000 years ago? Well, as a son of David Jesus was a legal heir to the throne of Israel and when he was anointed by holy spirit Jesus was called to become king – a messianic king.
Not only that, those who became Jesus’ disciples were called into his kingdom too and upon their anointing entered into the kingdom, at least spiritually. As Paul wrote, Christians have been transferred into the kingdom of the son of God’s love.

But there is another aspect to the kingdom. The 7th chapter of Daniel depicts someone like a son of man, an obvious reference to Christ, being brought before the throne of God and rulership and authority are given him so that all the nations become subject to him. Obviously, all the nations did not begin serving Christ in the first century. Christians back then, nonetheless, still accomplished a remarkable preaching campaign. Virtually all of the nations lining the great Mediterranean Sea had an opportunity to hear the good news. That was a very extensive area to cover when we consider there were no modern means of transportation or communication.

But the point is, the extraordinary accomplishments of the first century Christians came about before 1914, the time that Jehovah’s Witnesses suppose Jesus began ruling over the world. But when we take into account that Christians have many tools at their disposal now that were not available to the original Christians why do we suppose that the world wide work of the Watchtower Society could only be accomplished if Jesus has become king over all the nations?

Of course, the reason Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that is because Jesus foretold – among other things that will occur during the conclusion of the system of things – that “the good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth and then the end will come.”
The problem is Jehovah’s Witnesses lack insight into the future. And the reason is because God has allowed the leadership of the Watchtower Society to fall into a spiritual stupor. Because virtually all prophecy has been tied to 1914 and there is no discussion allowed, the Governing Body has effectively blinded the entire organization to the future unveiling of the judgments of Jehovah and the revelation of Jesus Christ.
To demonstrate the point take for example the Watchtower’s interpretation of the 10th chapter of Revelation. Revelation 10:1-2 depicts Jesus coming down from heaven to establish his authority over the earth. Jehovah’s Witnesses have been led to believe that this profound event is history. However, consider more closely the seventh verse, which states: “There will be no delay any Longer; but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to blow his trumpet, the sacred secret of God according to the good news which he declared to his own slaves the prophets is indeed brought to a finish.”

If Jesus took up authority over the world in 1914 how can it be said that “there will be no delay any longer”? Why have successive generations come and gone since then and still there is no end? How can it possibly be true that the good news was brought to a finish in 1914? Since no reasonable answer is possible it must be concluded that the Watchtower interpretation is in error. That being the case, the coming of Christ and the consummation of the gospel age is still in our future.

With that knowledge now consider the implications of the last verse of the 10th chapter, where Jesus hands a little scroll to John and commands him : “You must prophesy again with regard to peoples and nations and tongues and many kings.”
Like all other prophecy the Watchtower has trivialized the meaning of this development by assigning its fulfillment to the obscure past. But there is no question that the Revelation of Christ has not occurred yet. That being true, whatever Jehovah’s Witnesses have accomplished to date as regards the world wide preaching of the good news is only a preliminary phase. The concluding phase is yet to come, and it will occur in the aftermath of the collapse of the Anglo-American kingdom and the desolation of Watchtower Society. That is when the sons of the kingdom will take up the commission to “prophesy again.”

And then the end will come.

What about the preaching work of Jehovah’s Witnesses? 2

August 22nd, 2015

This is part three of a series of three questions in the Mailbag
3) If the WT has been in such egregious error before Jehovah purporting a supposed lie of 1914, and willfully doing so….how do we explain Jesus backing and blessing the preaching work of the last 100 years? Honestly, I’ve never understood how we apply Matthew 24:14 over the last 100 yrs. It makes more sense to apply it to a very impactful, swift and compact hard hitting ministry work, say 3.5 yrs. But, if as you state, the WT has offended Jesus and God over the 1914 debacle, what do you call this last 100 years of JW history? Was it blessed or not? What was its purpose, etc., if the WT is to be damned in a way?
Jehovah’s Witnesses tend to see things in black and white, obviously due in no small measure to their indoctrination by the Watchtower. While there is nothing objectionable about being indoctrinated with the truth, the problem is that the instrumentality that has been used to publish the truth has become an idol.

Mind you, an idol does not have to be tangible object. It can be anything that takes the place of Jehovah or that diminishes his place in the minds and hearts of his devotees. In this instance it is an institution that pretends to have unlocked all of the sacred mysteries of the Bible.
God put up with various forms of idolatry among the Israelites for centuries. Some of the kings successfully initiated reforms that got rid of the worst forms of idolatry, for which they were commended by God, but even at that, as in the instance of righteous King Josiah, he let the high places remain.

Nevertheless, Jehovah did not immediately abandon his people. Ultimately, he completely accomplished his purpose in connection with them, which was primarily to produce the Messiah.
Let’s face it: Jehovah’s Witnesses are not allowed to think outside the box, as the expression goes. In this case, the “box” is whatever the Watchtower teaches as the truth. And it is just as well, because those who stray outside the “box” often go back to the nonsensical teachings of the churches or become atheists or whatever. A few go completely off the proverbial reservation and start their own religion and try to recruit followers. Others might try to straighten out what is crooked. And that doesn’t work either. From Jehovah’s standpoint that is “like those who are contending against a priest.”

It is God’s prerogative to let error run its course and it is his prerogative to straighten things out in his due time and in his own way. Or, as King Solomon asked: “Consider the work of the true God, for who can straighten out what he has made crooked?” Ec. 7:13
Because of the dominance of the Watchtower upon the spiritual lives of Jehovah’s Witnesses it is virtually impossible for them to imagine the future unfolding in any way other than what the Watchtower has impressed upon them. But as in the case of the Israelites Jehovah put up with their blindness and idolatry until he accomplished his purpose. We may be certain that his dealings in the past provide a pattern for modern times.

The prophecy of Isaiah foretells the blindness of God’s anointed ones. But it suits God’s purpose to allow it for the time being. Ultimately, Jehovah’s Witnesses have been blinded in respect to the coming of Christ. In their imagining that he is already come in 1914 and that virtually all prophecy has been fulfilled already, they have no expectation of the things to come —contrary to what the Watchtower proclaims.
In this, the organization-wide blindness sets the stage for a revelation – the unveiling.

Jehovah goes on to explain at Isaiah 48, speaking to those “who swear by the name of Jehovah,” God speaks to a point in the future from even this present moment, saying: “The former things I told you long ago. From my own mouth they went out, and I made them known. Suddenly I took action, and they came about. Because I knew how stubborn you are —That your neck is an iron sinew and your forehead is copper. I told you long ago. Before it came about, I caused you to hear it, so that you could not say, ‘My idol did this; my carved image and my metal image commanded this.’ You have heard and seen all of this. Will you not declare it? From now on I am announcing new things to you, guarded secrets that you have not known. Only now are they being created, and not long ago, things that you never heard before today, so that you cannot say, ‘Look! I already know them.’”

What God is saying to his people is that the truth was there all along, but God has locked it up in what he calls “guarded secrets.”
The prophecy really pertains to the coming of Christ and that is evident in the context itself. Notice the 10th verse, which states: “Look! I have refined you, but not in the form of silver. I have tested you in the smelting furnace of affliction.”
This is similar to what we read in the third chapter of Malachi that refers to the coming of the messenger of the covenant with the fire of a refiner.

The point in time referred to in Isaiah as “now” is when God opens the eyes of the blind after they emerge from the fiery crucible of affliction. At that point no one will be able to say they had already known of these things. Thus, the Watchtower idol will be thoroughly discredited and Jehovah will be placed on high.
The question that God will then pose to his humbled remnant —“Will you not declare it?” — intimates that there will be a post-Watchtower preaching work. That is not to say that the present preaching work is not also part of God’s work. Obviously it is. But, it is not the end of it. There is a concluding phase to come.
What form will it take? How will it be accomplished? How many from among Jehovah’s Witnesses now will participate in it? I don’t know. It’s a closely guarded secret.

Are Jehovah’s Witnesses preaching a false message?

March 18th, 2017

Apologies: For some unknown reason messages sent to me from the contact form were either not being delivered or were sent to my spam folder. This question from a JW reader was recovered.
QUESTION: You say in some of your videos that despite some flaws, Jehovah’s Witnesses are doing God’s will on earth, namely preaching the Kingdom message. You also say (and I wholeheartedly agree) that 1914 is a false teaching; hence, Jehovah’s Witnesses are promoting a false parousia. My question is this: If Jehovah’s Witnesses are promoting the Kingdom, but teaching that it was established over 100 years ago, how can they possibly be fulfilling the prophecies? If a person was learning the Bible from JWs and rejected their eschatology would they be rejecting the Kingdom message? To me it seems a false kingdom message cannot possibly fulfill the verses in Mathew 24 and Luke 21. I have my theories but I would like to hear yours.
First, I do not have any theories. I just deal with the Scriptures. And the situation with Jehovah’s Witnesses today is not without precedent in the biblical record.
Consider the fact that shortly after Jesus began his ministry he also commissioned his chosen apostles to begin a preaching campaign in advance of him. Not only that, shortly after sending the apostles out he also sent out seventy other disciples in pairs. Like the Watchtower with the ministry of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Jesus gave his disciples a specific message to declare. They were to announce to their fellow Israelites that the Kingdom of the heavens had drawn near.

Amazingly, however, although Jesus entrusted them to be his publicity agents not one of those original preachers had any idea what the Kingdom of the heavens even was. Even at the very end of Jesus’ ministry the apostles still had no inkling that Jesus was going back to heaven. No doubt they were laboring under the same delusion as were all of the Jews, imagining that the restoration of the throne of David was going to be an earthly set up. That is evident from what is stated in the 19th chapter of Luke, which states that upon Jesus’ approach to Jerusalem the disciples imagined that the Kingdom of God was going to display itself instantly. Even after he was resurrected the disciples asked Jesus if he was restoring the Kingdom to Israel at that time.

It was only after the holy spirit came upon them that they were finally able to comprehend the “breadth and length and height and depth.”
The fact that the disciples had false expectations regarding the Kingdom was a stumbling block for them. When Jesus was taken from the earth without having restored the Kingdom those who had been his followers had to adjust their thinking. They had to resolve the dilemma if they wanted to continue on in Jesus’ teachings in his absence. They had to demonstrate that they had faith and were not simply following a man who performed impressive miracles.

So, even though the original followers of Christ did not have any idea what the Kingdom was, their message —the Kingdom of the heavens has drawn near —was still relevant for the reason that those who responded to the message and who followed through after Jesus left the earth were ultimately welcomed into the Kingdom of Christ by virtue of being anointed by the holy spirit.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are in the same position as the original disciples before Christ was killed; albeit, we know considerably more about the Kingdom of God then did the 70 whom Jesus first commissioned as Kingdom proclaimers. (Who is Blind?) Just as the reality of Christ’s death had actually been hidden from the apostles (Luke 9:45), and even the great teacher was unable to disabuse them of their false notions, the same operation is at work now —blinding the modern Kingdom proclaimers to the reality of a future parousia of Christ and all that that entails.
To be sure, the 1914 doctrine stands as a huge stumbling block, not just to those relatively few persons who see the fallacy of it now, but to virtually all of Jehovah’s Witnesses going forward. Just as the unexpected death of their rabbi and master forced the apostles to rethink their faith, the sudden outbreak of wars, famines, pestilence —in short all the things Jesus foretold would occur as a prelude to his ultimate presence —will impose a severe test of faith upon everyone associated with the Watchtower.

Unfortunately, we may expect many to be stumbled, as Jesus foretold. Ironically though, the coming of Christ will ultimately result in the removal of all stumbling blocks —the 1914 thing being foremost. That is what Jesus was intimating with his harvest illustration, when he explained that “The harvest is a conclusion of a system of things, and the reapers are angels. Therefore, just as the weeds are collected and burned with fire, so it will be in the conclusion of the system of things. The Son of man will send his angels, and they will collect out from his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling and people who practice lawlessness, and they will pitch them into the fiery furnace. There is where their weeping and the gnashing of their teeth will be. At that time the righteous ones will shine as brightly as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. Let the one who has ears listen.”

Just as the original preaching of the Kingdom prepared persons to enter into the Kingdom when the door was opened on Pentecost, the Watchtower has unknowingly prepared a people for the final harvest. The falsity of the invisible parousia doctrine merely serves as a veil that will be lifted at the unveiling and revealing of Christ. In that respect, the Watchtower is doing God’s will, even in promoting a false parousia, since it is only by God’s permission that Satan is allowed to exert a deluding influence over Christ’s congregation prior to his coming.
As Jesus illustrated, prior to the conclusion there are lawless persons and stumbling blocks within Christ’s Kingdom —that is to say, within his congregation —his organization if you prefer. So, the Scriptures acknowledge that there are stumbling blocks in Christ’s Kingdom that have the potential to wreck a believer’s faith. That is what a stumbling block is. Nevertheless, we can be confident that Jesus will fully accomplish his Father’s work in spite of those negative factors, just as he did when he sent out the 70 to declare the exciting, world-changing message, that the Kingdom of the heavens had drawn near.

Graphene injections, Elijah and the prophets of Baal

October 5th, 2021

QUESTION: If the anointed are going to give a final witness (putting themselves out there to be seen by all) why would Satan’s agents need a 5g vaccine to find them?
I believe the graphene injections are intended to do more than merely track and monitor.
Jehovah’s Witnesses have been blessed to know that God has a purpose. Jehovah intends to rid the earth of the evil system that has prevailed for the past few thousand years. If we believe the Bible, there is going to be a new world, a new system. I believe it. At Matthew 12:32 Jesus referred to it as the system to come, or as it is worded in the King James Version: “it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.”

The world to come will be ruled by the Kingdom of God, composed of Jesus Christ and 144,000 chosen ones whom Jehovah has bought from the earth as the first fruits. I believe the evidence shows that the final members of the Kingdom class who will become the remaining ones during the conclusion have come from among Jehovah’s Witnesses. There are, however, many other aspects of prophecy that Jehovah’s Witnesses do not understand. That is because God has closely guarded secrets that He has not revealed.

The present world and the world to come are going to meet up. That is to say, the world to come is going to be established while the present evil world still exists. There must inevitably be a climactic confrontation between Christ’s incoming Kingdom and Satan centered upon the few remaining ones. The Watchtower has deluded Jehovah’s Witnesses into believing that the Kingdom began ruling in 1914 and that the presence of Christ is an ongoing reality. Paul foretold that the apostasy must come first—first before the return of Christ.

In ancient times Satan promoted Baal worship. It was a snare for the Israelites. In fact, the Hebrews were ensnared in Baalism before they even entered into the Promised Land when the greedy prophet, Balaam, advised Balak how to seduce them into idolatry.
In Hebrew ba-al simply meant owner or master. And that really gets to the heart of the issue. Who owns us? Israel belonged to Jehovah, so God had a vested interest. Jehovah used various individuals to re-establish His ownership over the nation. Elijah was the foremost prophet who annihilated the cult of Baal during the days of King Ahab and his demon-worshipping Sidonian wife—Jezebel.
In Revelation Jesus warned his congregations of the evil influence of both a symbolic Balaam and a Jezebel. So, the same issue of ownership exists now.

As stated, God has purchased a small number of persons to rule in the Kingdom along with Christ. The Watchtower has served as a tutor and guide for them, but now it is becoming evident that the foretold apostasy has begun. Not only has the Watchtower shut down the preaching work worldwide—but it has shuttered every meeting place as well. Under the guise of giving life-saving direction, the Governing Body has mandated vaccines for all, regardless of age or health conditions. It is even threatening elders with disfellowshipping if they dare question the wisdom of the Governing Body’s vaccine mandate.

The Watchtower has stipulated that those who are vaccinated will have greater opportunities to serve God. But why should that be the case? It is now known that vaccinated persons are more prone to contract and spread Covid. Furthermore, whatever immunity is imparted to those receiving the injections quickly diminishes. Yet, the Watchtower has made vaccination a requirement for full-time service.
In this, the Watchtower is imposing itself as the master and owner of those whom Jehovah entrusted to it. Baal worship anew. And as stated elsewhere, the Governing Body is showing itself to be the worthless shepherds who sell the sheep to the buyers for slaughter. That is why Isaiah speaks for the remnant in the future: “O Jehovah our God, other masters (owners) besides you have ruled over us, but we make mention of your name alone.” — Isaiah 26:13

As regards a final witness, perhaps that is not the proper term. The two witnesses of Revelation do not give a final witness. They will give witness that they have seen Christ. It will be the first and last witness.
The two witnesses are depicted in a way that connects them with Moses and Elijah. And they are called the anointed who stand next to the Lord of the earth. Conversely, the Lord stands next to them, which is what parousia means.
Revelation 11:5-6 says of them: “If anyone wants to harm them, fire comes out of their mouths and consumes their enemies. If anyone should want to harm them, this is how he must be killed. These have the authority to shut up the sky so that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying, and they have authority over the waters to turn them into blood and to strike the earth with every sort of plague as often as they wish.”

Elijah called fire from heaven on the occasion when he demonstrated that the prophets of Baal were false. Baal was believed to bring seasonal rains; hence, Elijah commanded the weather and brought about a 42-month drought—coinciding with the duration of the ministry of the two witnesses. Keep in mind that Elijah and Moses showed up in the vision of the transfiguration, which Peter later said was a foregleam of the parousia.

After Elijah ordered the drought, he went into hiding in the wilderness and Jehovah fed him by means of ravens. Imagine, that was before Uber eats and drone deliveries. Ahab searched all over for him. Then after Elijah had Jezebel’s prophets and priests of Baal slaughtered Elijah fled into the wilderness again and hid in a cave, where Jehovah appeared to him. That is where Jehovah informed Elijah that there were 7,000 who had not bent their knee to Baal. The 7,000 also show up in connection with the two witnesses. Interestingly, after the Devil is thrown down Revelation describes the woman who gives birth to the sons of the Kingdom as fleeing into the wilderness, just like Elijah. So, finding the two witnesses may not be so straightforward.

But, as stated at the onset, the injections may not be merely GPS locators. Jehovah is supremely confident that after the final sealing His adopted sons will be loyal to Him no matter what the Devil throws at them. If it is true that the mRNA injections are laden with miniature graphene microchips and are intended to install remote control over humans, it would seem to be the perfect ending to Satan’s challenge. If Satan cannot break the loyalty of the sons of the Kingdom even by hijacking their DNA and synaptic neurotransmitters, it will be case closed and lights out for the Accuser of our brothers.
