@Neoluna @Proverbs 14 v 15 @StopTheInsanity It has become more and more apparent since the scales have fallen off my eyes, how very very much the WT org is like the world. Just like the use of the words, white supremacists, Nazi, and Fascists etc, they use these words so much, and so often they become completely meaningless.

When I was very young my family moved us into a small town back in the 70's. One of the first witness family's we met we knew for a very long time. Sometime after the father died, and many years later, I remember someone the son and mother had become "apostates." I remember being shocked, I couldn't believe. If memory serves he had been an Elder too. Another brother who I know was also an elder, who I worked with when I was a teenager right out of High School, also, "became an apostate." I always wondered what that meant, and what could have happened to make them "become Apostate." There was never any explanation, just this very vague and bland statement. I now realize just as @Wide Awake stated, all the JW term means is you simply disagree with the GB! And the real purpose for the label is to induce a chilling effect and squelch any dissent.

This is why I keep pointing out, that what they are really afraid of is the truth coming out, as well as the fact Jehovah gives us free will, and why he allowed Satan's rebellion to continue was to allow us to chose individually whether we will serve God or not. As well as the fact WT and the GB's fear is that our faith is so fragile that all it takes is some half truths and lies, and that's why people leave the "truth." But just like the rest of Satan's world, it is NOT, "the truth" it is "WT's truth." And exactly like the world, they resort to Middle School insults, like terms as I mentioned above, and name calling, like "conspiracy theory." And like STI said, they only way they have power over us is if we give it to them. These are weak stupid little men, who hate the skin they were born in, and nobody anywhere in the real world would pay them any mind. And the only reason they have or had power over any of us, and those still under their control, is because of our good faith and trust in the belief that we were obeying Jehovah by doing it.

The true irony to all of this though, is Jehovah did not stop Satan from lying to Eve, he didn't even try, the truth speaks for itself. They knew who their creator was, so they had a choice, listen to their creator, or some talking serpent. Which of course revealed what was really in their hearts.

And Jehovah instead of trying to hide the "apostate driven lies" from Satan the Devil, to try to protect us, from the first apostates lies, Jehovah recorded it in his word, so we can decide for ourselves just like Adam and Eve did, if we are going to listen to our creator, or the talking snake! And just like the talking snake, the father of the lie, who doesn't want us to know the truth because it's only the truth that reveals THE LIE, LIKEWISE what WT IS REALLY AFRAID OF IS THE TRUTH, JUST LIKE THEIR FATHER! So the best way to expose a liar is to publish their lies, and then pick those lies apart...but WT WOULDN'T DARE!!!!

They’ve misused the name apostate. What they’re really saying is that you’re apostate against the organization…not Jehovah. This only shows for sure that they’ve put themselves in the place of God.

Couldn't have put it better myself. I wish Jehovah would hurry up and sort things out. Although it's good to understand these things because it clears up confusion, I still find it a real heavy burden knowing all these things..

This is the Reasoning book’s definition of Apostasy:

”Apostasy is abandoning or deserting the worship and service of God, actually a rebellion against Jehovah God. Some apostates profess to know and serve God but reject teachings or requirements set out in his Word. Others claim to believe the Bible but reject Jehovah’s organization.”

The last sentence of that definition is not in the scriptures. They have no scriptural support for what is said there. They’re adding to what the Bible already says which is something that the Bible speaks against. They are the apostates!

“I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among you and will not treat the flock with tenderness, and from among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.” —Acts 20:29,30

That sounds very much like the WT/GB to me.

Name-calling. Propagandists use the name-calling technique to incite fears and arouse prejudices in their hearers in the intent that the bad names will cause hearers to construct a negative opinion about a group or set of beliefs or ideas that the propagandist wants hearers to denounce.

This is the very thing that’ll cause me to listen to the one they’re calling names. To me, that is much like kids or bullies trying to scare others by calling someone names on the school playground. I guess everyone has different ways of reacting to various techniques.

Thats the thing. Been to so many congs over the years in different states (at least in America) and its really same BS new pile.

Governing body is the real issue.

Can only stomach so much forced kindness and recycled useless WTBTS material.

What they describe, and disfellowship many for, is what's called heresy: belief or opinion contrary to orthodox religious (especially Christian) doctrine.

For instance, when you talk against the 1914 bunk, you aren't standing against God, you are standing against their dogma. Heresy.
