I am not arguing that the great earthquakes in one place after another are taking place now. That is what the Watchtower claims. Nor am I saying that the earthquakes Jesus foretold will occur during Armageddon. The composite sign will appear during the conclusion, which has not begun yet. The Bible does speak of metaphoric earthquakes though; for example, the opening of the sixth seal states: "And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and a great earthquake occurred; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the entire moon became as blood, and the stars of heaven fell to the earth as when a fig tree shaken by a high wind drops its unripe figs. And the heaven departed as a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and every island was removed from its place. Then the kings of the earth, the high officials, the military commanders, the rich, the strong, every slave, and every free person hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains."

I want to answer this because it is really what led me here... eventually, and why I am so convinced the GB are the Modern Pharisees.
It all comes down to who they are blaming. See the whole issue is that "man is ruling himself" and not mankind. Or another way to put it, is Satan rules mankind by letting them mostly rule themselves. The whole "man-made climate change" garbage, is the whole world blaming "climate change" on each individual person. It's not governments mismanaging anything, it's you driving an SUV, keep your house too cool in the summer, and too warm in the winter. Well I should say it's not government mismanaging themselves, it's government mismanaging it's control over you! Government has given you too much freedom.

I suppose this is why WT is so onboard with it. They think God's Kingdom will just crack down on each person's mismanagement, and not just fix government. This is why they hate "conspiracy theories" so much. It's because they blame the government and big corporations in bed with the governments and why WT hates them now too. And what is WT, but a big corporation that is almost certainly in bed with the government. The problems we have in this system is not just because we are sinful human beings, it's that sinful human beings are running our lives. And that is exactly what WT is! And that is exactly what Jehovah's Kingdom is going to fix. Even "perfect humans" could not run our lives perfectly, without Jehovah. That is the whole point. Adam and Eve rejected God's Kingdom, and that was certainly a big part of what made them "imperfect". Man individually cannot "ruin the earth", that takes governments!

It occurs to me while I write this, WT doesn't think they are doing anything wrong. "It's a perfect system run by imperfect men." This is what they tell themselves. Think of what kind of arrogance you'd have to have to think this much of yourself? They admit they make mistakes, sort of, but it's not the WT's fault, it's the imperfect men running it who make mistakes.

Anyway, that is the problem with WT being onboard with all these things that this system claims is wrong. They do not blame themselves or their way of doing things, it's your fault for not doing what they told you to do!

I did delete my comment because I didn't want to appear so naive. I was never really sure about climate change, but it does seem to me that the summers are hotter than I've ever remembered in the past and the winters (I'm on the east coast) are warmer than ever! We rarely get snow anymore and my husband has been cutting the grass in December for the past few years, he's never had to do that! And Jehovah did say man would be ruining the Earth so it sounded reasonable to believe in climate change, not to mention the storms we get seem to be much more extreme and intense but idk. Trying to discern truth from lies is getting exhausting! Sigh.

Meanwhile, as the COP27 meeting was underway Ukraine launched a false flag attack on Poland in an effort to trick NATO into direct war with Russia - a war that every thinking person knows would quickly escalate into a nuclear conflagration. That would truly be a climate catastrophe, otherwise known as nuclear winter. Still, the seers at the Watchtower make no mention of the precarious state of world affairs. Not even a hint that Jesus foretold that we will "hear of wars and reports of wars" as a preliminary to nation rising against nation and kingdom against kingdom.

Contrary to the Watchtower's milquetoast rebuttal, Bible prophecy indicates that the king of the north will succeed and be successful all the way to the end. That means that a very large percentage of the human population, which just this past week is reported to have reached 8 billion, will be eliminated. The process is already well underway in the maniacal war against fossil fuels. Only a murderous demon would promote a scheme to destroy the carrying capacity of civilization, which is what the phony climate catastrophe is all about. Shame on Bethel for lending credence to this fraud.

If world leaders were serious about changing the climate, instead of cutting off Europe from cheap Russian energy, and spending 10's of billions of dollars to wage war with Russia in Ukraine, they would instead build dozens of nuclear power plants all around the coasts of Northern Africa. Nuclear produces zero greenhouse gases, the power generated could transform Africa and the desalination could be used to transform the vast and growing Sahara desert into a forested green belt over the course of a generation. But of course, they are not serious. It is a massive fraud promoted by King Charles.

Yep…the fact that they can control the weather scares the living daylights out of me because this also means they can control the politicians that don’t get “in-line” with their policies. The old “Cospiracy Theorist” in me thinks that it is no coincidence that Kentucky got slammed with the worst tornados in 100 years after Rand Paul called out Fauci on the Covid gain of function stuff. But then I think about how it was in the days of ancient Israel how wickedness was so prevalent that Jehovah was seeking to find just one person who at least thought about Him and tried to do what’s right.
The Lord says, “Walk the streets of Jerusalem. Look around and think about these things. Search the public squares of the city. See if you can find one good person, one who does honest things and who searches for the truth. If you find one good person, I will forgive Jerusalem.

Jehovah would’ve pardoned the whole wicked city on account of just one right intentioned person.
While I have lots of shortcomings, I would say I have good intentions also.

I guess it’s love of righteousness that sends me over the edge when I see all the unrighteousness going on. Unfortunately there’s a part of my heart that’s really black.
I hope Jehovah never replays those tapes in open court.

This is like the third recent post that quotes Antonio Guterres, an extreme leftist... disturbing. In the least, this post insinuates or conveys the impression that they are aligned with the climate change agenda, so, I fully agree with Robert. In speaking with a trustworthy friend about this, he believes this information is just a talking point to lead into a bible conversation; however, I don't agree. There have been too many posts like this which are all in-sync with the media and political events/news. If it weren't on the site and a JW brought up these, so-called, talking points, you'd likely be called out for not being politically neutral. So, how can a JW be politically neutral if the GB and associates are constantly bombarding them with these "talking points"? It's truly frustrating and upsetting, and worse, few are open to hearing differing arguments. It's becoming a struggle to support an organization where you can't disagree, express a different opinion or interpretation or simply not agree with the information presented.

Its interesting that Chernobyl was 25 years ago and Fukushima happened in 2011. There are still issues and the ocean is still being contaminated by the radiation but they are making attempts to clean it up. People have started living in these areas again but that doesn’t mean they are safe.
