Did Rome "devour ALL the earth" or not? (Daniel 7:23)

There are those who say that Rome did not rule over China. If Rome did not rule over China, then how are we to understand Daniel 7:23 which clearly says that Rome would "devour all the earth"?

Daniel 7:23 says:
This is what he said: ‘As for the fourth beast, there is a fourth kingdom [Rome] that will come to be on the earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms, and it will devour all the earth and will trample it down and crush it.

Did Rome "devour all the earth" or not?

What are your thoughts concerning this?

The fourth beast with 10 horns with a small 11th horn that emerges and plucks up three of the 10 horns will be on earth when the Son of man is given the Kingdom. So, the fourth beast is not merely the Roman Empire of antiquity. The British Empire is the new Roman Empire and besides the fact that the formal colonial empire controlled a quarter of the world, that empire metamorphosed into the global financial empire presently. That empire uses banks such as the IMF and World Bank to crush nations under a burden of debt while the FOREX dealers in the City of London rig the floating exchange rates to prevent indebted nations from acquiring the Dollars to pay off the "loans." London is also the source of terrorists, regime changes, narco trade and the arms trade. Now the empire is going for the kill under the guise of saving the planet from CO2, even if it means nuclear war. For a certainty, the Anglo beast is crushing and treading down the world.

It's how you thinking about the meaning of the word Earth. From Daniel understanding That would be The King of the north and The king of the South.Did the Rome conquer it's rival Egypt? Yes so like wise The King of the North will conquer the King of the south in the time of the end.

For many years China was thought to be a "Hermit Kingdom". They isolated themselves and stayed out of world affairs. It's not likely that the Bible would have bothered including it in prophecy as it was off on it's own. Same with india and many other eastern nations. The world of the time of the prophecy isn't the world of today. Today China is a major player, partially due to its exploitation by the British. They learned well from their masters.

Are you referring to Japan? China interacted and traded with ancient bible lands like Rome, Persia and such they just thought themselves the center of the world so weren't overly eager about it. The "church of the east" portion of christendom even made it to China in the 7th century and while respected by the locals and authorities had little success for centuries on expansion. Gnostics even made it into China as well in the first millennium AD the artifacts from those heretics in china included a highly modified version of the book of the giants.

Maybe because the 11th horn, which is part of the beast, will have the same spirit and will certainly rule the whole planet.

It's what I learned in high school but our teacher was paid in vodka so who knows...

It's long but watch the first 18 minutes or so. China was a huge sought after center of raw materials for years in the ancient world. But Politically and scientifically they were really isolated from 1500 to mid 20th century. Video mentioned that until Nixon visited China they were like Korea...a hermit kingdom.
