I wish I could articulate this better: I find a sort of type-anti type with how it was for Nehemiah. He "proceeded to ask them (his brothers) about the Jews, those who had escaped, who had been left over of the captivity, and also about Jerusalem"
Nehemiah, unlike the prophets was not commissioned directly by Jehovah. He desired to re-build the house of Jehovah, and took action, using his role in the world, working for the king, in doing so.
Today building the house of Jehovah, under the new covenant would mean building the body of Christ. That is why I have been appealing to the (real) anointed. The watchtower for it's part orchestrated a search for those sheep (in this type: the materials for constructing the house) with the urgency of a false perosea. Whereas Nehemiah did so with support of edict from the king. There was opposition. He did what he could, and accomplished a lot. In the end he said:
Do remember me, O my God, for good.
