My story went like this:
around Jan 2021, I was newly reinstated and under probation. When i began to question the Gov Body on its Covid policy, the elders tightened the vice grip on me. This all came together only a few months after the vaccine roll out went nation wide- the sisters and their husbands were all lining up for the injection and i was trying to talk them out of it- saying wait, we don’t know what’s in this- not knowing that would turn out to be an issue (me trying to talk them out of it)
When i realized to my utter horror that the elders were not supporting and going to support me, but instead try to corral me into a position of getting vaxxed and if i had a reaction, wait on Jehovah to fix it, even going so far to accuse me of being morbidly afraid of the govt (what i said was i did not trust the govt’s position on C19) i then decided to fade. But that didn’t work for me.
I would wake up to dozens of texts, emails and phone calls from multiple elders and others in the congregation for missing only two Zoom meetings. The elders even left notes on my front door on two separate occasions and one elder went to my husband’s work. I didn’t know how to make it stop so i wrote a letter of disassociation exactly four months to the day after i was reinstated after being disfellowshipped for almost four years.

Wow, thanks for sharing your story. Its a shame how divisive this has become. They could have been more tactful and sensitive being that you were recently reinstated and were basically a wounded sheep.
It didn't have to be this way if the org would have followed their own council and remained neutral in the worlds affairs. If they would have left it to personal choice, no doubt most of the friends would have acted to protect themselves by not foolishly getting involved in a risky medical experiment. I know many who had serious doubt before it was ordained by the GB.

That's a good question that I've been trying to figure out since they started. Like I've posted before, I've been begging Jehovah for an answer and finally decided the answer may lie outside of the org itself, then stumbled on (or probably guided to) Roberts articles.
After examining many many of his articles, videos and comments on this forum as well as a documentary on the 1975 debacle and now a child abuse cover up testimony from the former Bethelite sister, I'm becoming convinced there is a definite corrupting influence within the leadership of the org. Weeds sown among the wheat?
To answer you question more specifically, i suspect the GB are still being influenced by deals made with the superior authorities or even directly from phamasutical companies themselves. But with the evidence of past partnership with the UN the former is more likely.
I'd be interested in your answer to that question as well or anyone else who has insights.

i agrée with you. I think that Watchtower’s tax exempt status (501.C3) made it eligible for Covid Relief grants and like any grant, Watchtower wouldn’t necessarily have to pay it back, but it was now was burdened perhaps even tasked with promoting the govt’s agenda or perhaps face penalties which include (but certainly not limited to @Driven hehe) paying any portion or all of the grant money back.
considering its 501.C3 status alone demonstrates that WT must operate within certain govt parameters to continue to be eligible and WT will collapse if it loses its 501.C3 eligibility.
And with the Gov Body stupidly attaching Jehovah’s name to Ramapo, certainly that insane project is coming in over budget due to unforeseen problems like supply constraints, due to loss of purchasing power of the currency aka inflation, and labor issues- BTW, on labor, Sanderson admitted at the annual meeting that for the first time Watchtower is contracting paid labor for Ramapo and it’s my belief that JWs are no doubt laid up sick from the jabs leading to said labor issues (shortages) which in turn forced the Gov Body to hire outside labor.
I think the Gov Body painted itself into a very tight corner- recall Stephen Lett said in 2015 that after doing the math, that there was much more money flowing out than money coming in, so it all comes down to:

We may never know what incentivized the GB to take the position they have (the seat of Moses) unless a high ranking honest JW does a whistle blower testimony. The thing that I find dramatically interesting is that no matter what is at the root of the JW leadership's stand in all this (all of your ideas as to why [and Asadour's too] are super sound), it plays very well with the outworking of Jehovah's purpose as seen in his prophetic word. In this incredible and sinister debacle, God's will is being done. Jesus will be mopping up shortly and rightfully so. Then ALL the prophecies in (to name a few) Psalms, Daniel, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Joel, Nahum, Habakkuk, Micah, Jonah, Zephaniah, Zechariah, Matthew, Luke, Mark, Paul's writings and Revelation (like I said, to name a few because I know I left out several) will be fulfilled right before our eyes and the eyes of the world. INCREDIBLE!!

I think it was more that they sensed this was becoming a divisive issue and to take a weighty position on the matter would solve or dampen much of the divisiveness. For them to break precedent about a 'personal decision' they felt there was a larger issue. The return to meeting announcement was very specific that vaccination is not required and that decisions about such should be respected.
I heard one brother conducting a meeting say about this, "that the brothers really want someone to make the decision for them." It probably is true that SOME want the decision made for them. Of that group some are probably lazy about spending the time to educate themselves and some are probably overwhelmed at the task and then others are in between.
This could all just dissipate or it could turn into a disaster. Time will tell and I think the damage will be less then what we got from the medical and dentistry fields promoting tobacco up into the 1960s.

Agreed. I'm now going to have to study those prophecies in light of this new info. Ive been through the intro chapters of Roberts book but haven't gotten to the prophecy sections yet. It will be interesting. At one time i had a real desire to learn prophecy but the "new light" has slowly dampened my desire over the years. I was becoming very cynical about prophecy interpretation from the org to the point of even weakening my faith. Ì have come to the understanding that correct interpretation of prophecy is not forced. Jehovah doesn't reveal sacred truths just because the org feels obligated to publish another book. It happens on Jehovah's schedule, not ours. As someone else mentioned, at least some of the prophecies have been sealed until the time of the end, so how can anyone presumtuously believe they have a correct interpretation now or in the past? It only serves to muddy the waters of truth IMHO.

Additionally, I watched all of last year’s video updates. They were not “recommending” the vaccines as safe and effective, they were strongly pushing the vaccines but just falling short of requiring them. They claim to have Jehovah’s direction and are almost pleading with the friends to “trust the brothers”. Additionally, anyone with any intelligence knew that these vaccines were and still are experimental and not safe nor effective. Lastly, the thing that is the most ”telling” regarding their intent is the fact that even though some of the friends have been injured or killed by the vaccine, we hear nothing about it. agreed. totally agree with you.
I would posit further that why would the GB have to come down hard on JWs about anything when all they have to do is invoke Jehovah’s name and attach it to their agenda? Those that don’t obey are marginalized and eventually perhaps df’d (let’s hope not) and wham bam, bob’s your uncle, there’s their precioso unity! see how easy that is?
I admit i take the cynical side of this. i dont fault those who try to take a more reasonable approach. But i do not take the cynical route lightly. I base my assumptions upon the GB’s past failures, and about what i know to be true about 501.C3 eligibility and the federal govt, esp THIS current federal govt. It’s not just tax exempt- 501.C3s don’t get that status for nothing, they have to carry the FED’s water so to speak. It would have been better for Watchtower (in my opinion) not to have this entanglement with the Federal Govt. but it’s too late now. If WT were to lose its status, it would collapse. That’s a huge burden to bear.

i can say as much for my personal experience in close family, my father and mother are in their late fifties, both got the jab after the gb started »endorsing» it.. dose 2 in november. My mom nearly died a month later from gastrointestinal issues wich ended up in a serious operation shes still recovering from. Even the doctor operating on her said it was very disconcerting, that he had heard many similar stories and that he recommended her NOT to take the booster. My father whos barely ever been sick got inflammation in his knee to the point that he could not sleep more than 2 hrs at a time and unbearable pain.(can hardly ever remember him saying he has pain for the 40 years ive been alive)His doctor even prescribed heavy painkillers to help him out. Now his lower back started acting the same. And just now we had the official sunday speech focused on how greatful we are for the good health advice from the Gb have helped us through the pandemic and then asking us if we can see how following its advice has blessed us? and if we are not reassured by this that we can trust the gb completely as jehovas channel…I dont know if to cry or laugh or get angry anymore.. Isaiah 42:19 echoing in the back of my head..
and in the end we all in the family got covidsomething and the 2 injected were the most hard hit and who had symptoms longest..

that’s the cruel irony of it all. And this story is told over and over and over. covid-something indeed.
I haven’t taken a single jab and haven’t been sick with anything (barring a few indigestional problems) during this entire pandemic.
