The orginal post and related video has been removed by the poster so as not to offend members who are offended, triggered, or angeredby anything Watchtower or JW related. 🤷‍♀️

"So you should not pass judgment on anyone before the right time comes. Final judgment must wait until the Lord comes; he will bring to light the dark secrets and expose the hidden purposes of people's minds. And then all will receive from God the praise they deserve." 1 Corinthians 4:5

"It is unavoidable that causes for stumbling should come. Nevertheless, woe to the one through whom they come! It would be of more advantage to him if a millstone were suspended from his neck and he were thrown into the sea than for him to stumble one of these little ones." Luke 17:1

Well, well, the spokesman was honest in his delivery "SHUTDOWN our public ministry", 'SHUTDOWN our public meetings". It's on record now, they have SHUTDOWN what Jesus has commanded based on a "pandemic" that has a 99.97% survival rate if your catch it and now prescribe a "cure" that has a high risk of adverse reactions. The slave thinks his master is delaying and is now beating his fellow slaves.

exactly, SollaSollew-

think about 1975- the master has been delaying at least since then if not since 1914 even. And now they’ve shut down the two things that Robert mentioned in his *Leaving Jehovah’s Witnesses* video as reasons to stay in. Now that service and meetings have been shut down and replaced with poor substitutes, there is really no more reason to stay. IMO.

To be fair we still have not seen the disgusting thing standing in a holy place as yet, many of our brothers and sisters are staying for various reasons but the day will come when a clear separation is required.

i thought that was the gov body. I thought 2 thess 2: 2-4 talked about that, also going by “the man of lawlessness” publicly showing himself to be a god. I still have a lot to learn.

"Hence, the disgusting thing will begin standing in a holy place when the last empire moves to suppress Jehovah’s Witnesses and destroy the Watchtower Society; hence, he will throw truth to the earth and bring the holy ones to ruin." - Jehovah Himself has become King.

No, you have learned that part. The man of lawlessness is indeed the 'governing body' at present.

Today, the 'governing body' implement their own doctrine, much of which is not backed by scripture, to enslave the masses; just like the Council of Nicea. "Only JW's will make through Armageddon, all others will die" is the same thing as "my way or damnation". The point should be obvious. As a matter of fact, the apostle Paul made the correlation from the start:

"Let no one lead you astray (seduce or deceive you) in any way, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction. He stands in opposition and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he sits down in the temple of God, publicly showing himself to be a god." - 2 Th 2:3-4

Judas, one of the twelve original apostles, was labeled by Jesus as "the son of destruction". (John 17:12) The use of the term here suggests that the "son of destruction" would be one of Christ's own chosen brothers. This would make sense as the rest of the verse continues on to perfectly describe the actions of the 'governing body' in as much as they exalt themselves "above every so-called god or object of worship". How so? When being disfellowshipped, the questions that are asked, and the responses given, are telling:

Q: Do you believe in Jehovah God and the bible?

A: Yes.

Q: Do you believe that the 'governing body/faithful slave' are being used by Jehovah in these last days?

A: No, because...(stated reasoning)

Response: Well, we're sorry but you're an apostate...you'll be going now...(disfellowshipped)

Because of their inability to reason from the bible, they have now exalted themselves above God. Thus they sit in the modern day "temple of God" and "publicly show themselves to be gods". They tell you everything they want you to hear, everything they want you to know, everything they have crafted to keep you in line. If you fall out of line, you fall out of their good graces, period.

All they do now is write letters. I've gotten several the past few months.

I got one and what a joke it was. No way of contacting the sender, exceptionally anonymous really. I don't even remember a name on it or it being signed. It had a link to JW.org though, so there's that. The few times in the past that I did letter writing; I used my name, the letter was custom written, I signed it and I gave out the phone number of the hall and in some cases other ways to contact the Brothers. Real ways, not links to Web sites.

In other words, I did it as an act of agape love and concern for my neighbor, not...whatever they're doing now.

Actually, the ones I got were typed written, you know the typical form letter, but they were signed. I actually responded to them, but never heard back.

Tell you a funny story. My wife works in a town called Lawrence, she's a Letter Carrier (as I). She calls me up and tells me I'm delivering all these letters from a guy name "Lawrence K. Hall". And I start laughing, she's never been a JW, so she was clueless. I explained to her that Lawrence wasn't a person but a place. "It's Lawrence Kingdom Hall" I said, "the Jehovah's Witnesses" and then she looked at the address and noticed, as she use to deliver to the Hall a few years back.

Well Covid has certainly put an end to their door-to-door service. Making it harder for them to reach people and gain converts.

I always wondered why, with all their billions they didn't take advantage of other outlets.

The Bible Students for instance, as small as they are, published books, booklets and tracts. Magazines and newsletters. They have television and radio programs, they produce DVD's and software. They have dozens of websites, blogs and YouTube channels. They even advertise in newspapers and magazines. They even have a retirement center, that takes care of elderly brethren, something the Society never does.

Only because of Covid. Especially in strict states like NJ, NY, CA and others where it's impossible to do anything without a Covid passport.

I've looked up information about the Bible Students. There is a lot of good information on some of their sites, especiall Russell's books and, there used to be older Watchtowers too, not sure if they are still available though. I put a link to one in Central Ohio in the new thread that I added in the History topic here on the forum. This is because it has online versions of all of the Studies in the Scriptures books, even with AUDIO. I was very impressed. Its in the topic about Charles T. Russell and the Bible Students. There's also a link to The entire Photodrama of Creation there, about 4.5 hours long!
Yes, EVERYTHING that Russell has ever written has been reprinted, including the Watch Towers, now the text is available online on several websites.

I agree. It's like when people say Covid destroyed the economy. No, Covid didn't destroy the economy. The government destroyed the economy. They locked down and quarantined the healthy, something that's never been done and did nothing. They closed small businesses as non essential and offered a few bucks to the owners who, a goodly number of, are now out of business. They put in place mandates and fear mongering that brought day to day business, of even the small things, to a screeching halt. Some would say that, at first, some of their measures were justified. But two years on now we can see what they've done and have a pretty good idea why...and it has nothing to do with our health.

"Fourteen days to flatten the curve!" More like 685 days to fatten the rich.
"We're all in this together!" No, I, like many others, lost their job and the billionaires in society gained 25-55% greater wealth.
