2021 Governing Body Updates and More

It occurs to me that the voices of the governing body are the readers of the 2014 NWT Audio. I listen to it a lot, and did not realize until recently that I have been listening to the governing body the whole time, for years. They are certainly not the voice of strangers if they are speaking the actual word of God to me every day... they are very well known to me. Yet I am not fooled by their lies even though they are not at all strangers by the sound of their voice.

I wonder if most JWs realize that they have the governing body in their ear all the time? It is a subtle way to manipulate people when the people know your voice and associate it with the word of God. Sure makes deception easier, I think.
Yes, it is very arrogant and part of their "visable presence" agenda IMO. Someone else mentioned that humans naturally seek out visable leaders (hence the Israelites request for a human king, which Jehovah condemned). The GB knows this all too well. In the past, they (the org) have been careful to humbly direct attention to Jesus and Jehovah as our leaders. I think many of us appreciated that and were actually drawn to the organization because of this humility and direction to give honor only to Jehovah and his Christ.
When I first studied, I knew of Russell and Rutherford but that's about it. I didn't really know who the current GB were and didn't really care to know. When the "proclaimers" book was released, I was reluctant to read it for the very reason of not wanting to give undue attention to men and their accomplishments. I understand that Jehovah uses men to accomplish his will but glory should always be directed to Jehovah for this. I get very uncomfortable when any person or persons begin to be highlighted over others. This move toward an increasingly visable GB began in the early 2000's as I recall and has been progressing ever since. Used to be one had to search to find out who the GB members were. Now it is unmistakable. They are in our faces as much as possible. I knew right away who the voices were in the reading of the audio Bible. Almost every mid-week meeting now, there they are, in some video presentation. Broadcasts, Updates, Giliad graduation, morning worship talks, annual meetings. My question is, where is Jesus Christ?! He's been relegated to some invisible presence working from behind the spiritual "curtain" while the GB have taken center stage, providing all of your wonderful spiritual food for you. Who needs Christ?
And where are the other co-rulers here on earth? Where is their recognition? Where is their contribution? Christ said, you are all brothers. No one should be elevated. All should be able to have input and contribute. Remember when all of the anointed as a whole body were considered to be the FFDS? Now it's just 8 men! How did that happen? Who approved that change? Why didn't the other anointed protest?
This is what they have done, progressively elevating themselves as Christ fades into the background as some mythical figure.

They assume they are the raising of 8 princes as saviours in Mic 5:5. Micah 5:5 is talking of the time future when the Assyrian (Possibly U.N) invades Zion under Christ but they (the self appointed) will appropriate it for propaganda purposes?
That would certainly explain there quiet fixation for a while on there being/maintaining a total of 8 GB members.

Watch this documentary, which has a brief documentation of all the patents there are for geoengineering at the beginning, and then all the "geoengineering experts" talking about what they "want to do" (which they always say before admitting they have already been doing this for decades), and then say "you don't buy it." BTW, these pilots have been lied to about what those chemicals are doing. So they don't think they are "killing their own children."

Wow, 2 hours, I will try to find the time.

Absolutely brother. Now you have a references point as well. Any time you start to feel your faith dwindling in any way, you have a personal experience to remind you of the things Jehovah has already done, not Bible examples only. I've found this to be helpful , to remind myself many times, how faithful Jehovah has always been to me. And your experience not only strengthened your faith but mine as well. Thank you for sharing. Keeping you and your dear wife in my prayers🙏
Thank you dear sister. Your kind words and prayers are so much appreciated😃

Attached (if it works) is a word document transcript of the Video Compilation by @Medi-tator

For those who can't stomach listening to it, you can read it. (uploading MS Word was not allowed so the file is a zip with the word file inside.) Med: Feel free to add to the top of your thread if you want to.

Thanks to Zane for linking to most of the updates that were already transcribed, saving a lot of time.
Thank you again L2!! Nicely done! I have attached your transcript (PDF) to the first post as you suggested. And thank you @Zane !!

I remember the account of Elijah when Jehovah summoned him to a Mountain where Elijah witnessed a windstorm so powerful that it split rock and thereafter a mighty quake and then awe inspiring display of fire yet Jehovah was not present in these outward displays of power.
But then in a nearly inaudible whisper Jehovah made His presence known to the prophet.
I guess the lesson is that Jehovah’s operation in our lives ,for the most part, is so subtle that we never see it for what it is and may dismiss what happens to us each day as mere happenstance.
Other times we may experience events that line up for us in an unexplainable way and can only conclude divine intervention was involved.
I was blessed enough yesterday to experience just such an event.
As many here may know, my dear wife is very sick and facing additional cancer treatment and now neck surgery to relieve pressure on compressed discs which is causing massive neuropathy in her extremities particularly her hands.
It could be some time before the actual surgery can be done so I’m pretty depressed that she’s bedridden and stuck on that awful uncomfortable sofa since our bedroom is upstairs and she can’t get up there. (No first floor guest room either).
Also frustrating is that there’s no way for us to communicate between floors at night in the event she needs to be escorted to the bathroom as she cannot even use her phone anymore.
There have been some pretty emotional moments in which we went to Jehovah in prayer for comfort and solutions.
We are of little means and elderly so yesterday I was calling Medicare trying to find out about a wheelchair for her and hit dead end after dead end.
Totally frustrated with red tape and dead ends, I blurted out to my wife “well I guess Jehovah doesn’t want us to have a wheelchair”.
Meanwhile ,unbeknownst to me my daughter in law who’s up to speed on her moms condition was putting out requests for a wheelchair on some Facebook group yesterday morning and received a response from a lady in her town who just happened to have a wheelchair that was no longer needed on account of her loved one passing away.
My daughter in law went to go pick it up early yesterday afternoon and as she was putting it into her car, and ready to leave this woman asked her if she would also like to have a new thousand dollar electric powered hospital bed free of charge!
After accepting this kind woman’s offer, a couple of her sons loaded the disassembled bed into the back of her sports utility which fit perfectly.
If that wasn’t enough this woman also out of the blue asked do you know someone who could use a baby’s room monitor since it was used to monitor the person who was sick from other rooms in the house.
Now I can easily monitor my wife at night and we’re just waiting for a new mattress for the bed to arrive Friday sometime when she’ll finally be laying on a proper sleeping surface.
Oh that's amazing!! Legit happy tears here! Thank you, Jehovah!! 😍🙏 😍

Has anyone read the book released in April called Rutherford's Coup: The Watchtower Succession Crisis of 1917 and Its Aftermath? I'm very interested in this time period as the series of events leading up to and after Rutherford becoming president of the WTBTS marked significant changes and, according to WT, fulfilled multiple prophecies.
I have not read the book, but my own experience of learning with the watchtower, is that their discussion and findings on the matter of succession were applied retrospectively. At the time, the differences of opinion that led to a split in the bethel membership were based on scriptural understanding and it was only later that watchtower applied the schism to prophesy to serve themselves and tighten their grip on the allegiance of what was then a still uncertain congregation. Naturally, those in possession of and in situ ruled the day. Yet, all of it was prophetic in its outcome because the watchtower of today hoist by its own petard, just as it was said.

Great points to ponder @Jah-son!
I’ve thought that same thing, especially since jw dot org started in 2014.
It seems that ‘the hand writing is on the wall’ as to their demise.

They messed about with the scriptures bringing out the silver sword back in 2013. I use it but have to check with e-sword and such apps to get a better look at what they don't want us to realise! When I realised the teachings I raised my children from the 'Bible story book' were propagandised it was hurtful especially the false representation of Jephtah's daughter. My research into such led me to that realisation. She was sacrificed because of Jephtah's tragic emotional promise in hope of victory not Jehovah's fault!

There’s also a channel on YouTube I watch to learn about the history of WT called Watchtower History that includes accurate background history/ research on Russell and Rutherford.

That is a wonderful story Ken. I did not know your dear wife is ill. I’m very sorry to hear that. I seem to miss a lot of what is going on here, I’m not very hot on surfing and often get lost along the way. I guess Jehovah was waiting on you to allow Him the opportunity to give you help, and then gave you more than you hoped for. Like most of us, you get both barrels at once with instant guilt for doubting. I can tell you without doubt, that Jehovah will sustain you both through these times. I have seen it for myself and when I look back I had no idea how on earth I could have come through it in one piece. The best hope is given in the experience of the three men (I’m not going to try to spell their names) were thrown in the fire by Nebuchadnezza. We are to feel the heat to gain the reward. Our faith is tested, but as you have seen for yourself and your dear wife, Jehovah will not forsake either of you. My love to you both.

WT is in a minority on Jephthah's daughter going into seclusion and not sacrificed but there are others with that view. WT is also in a minority on rejecting the Trinity. Being in the minority doesn't mean they're wrong.

Do you have any other examples of historical accounts in the Bible Stories book where WT has taken liberties with the text to reach a "unique" conclusion for the sake of a narrative rather than truth (eisegesis versus exegesis)?

I was surprised when I researched Jephthah's daughter. I would be interested in looking into others if you recall some of the stories.
That was what jumped out when I researched Josephus antiquity of the Jew's. What an Historian he was eye witness wasn't he of 70 AD? He gives great background on Patriarchs...Apprarently Abraham gave maths to the Egyptians. I mean things like that are so interesting...Also he said when Herod was dying knowing he was so hated he had the most top loved 300 Jews locked in a cave with orders to kill them all on his death to prevent a festival. His orders were never carried out!

I failed at the Lett-Test, again! I just can’t watch him for more than ten seconds without reaching for the off switch.

I also find it very difficult to watch their videos.
So i usually just don't' watch them.
But when i do, what helps me a LOT is doubling the playback speed.
In Youtube you can do that by clicking the little settings gear and changing the "Playback speed".

:)
